• The Project will be delivered in stages

Stage One

• Undertake the construction of the early works, including the access

road and MC facility

• Development of design documentation to IFC Stage

• Submit the Guaranteed Construction Sum (GCS) in early 2019

• Opportunity to deliver portions of ‘Stage Two’ Works during ‘Stage

One’

• All remaining Works to deliver the Project

Design Status

• Phase 2 Schematic Design has been completed

• Phase 3 Detailed Design is currently underway

• Design developed in compliance with the Youth Justice Centre

Facility Plan and Environmental& Cultural Heritage approvals.

Project Challenges:

Site currently comprised of rock and reactive clay

• Significant security system technology to be incorporated

• Unique project and balancing custodial overlays with

construction methodologies.

Local Opportunities

• The Project will generate up to 2000 to 3000 indirect and

direct jobs throughout the lifespan of the project

• 450 ongoing jobs created when the facility becomes

operational, including prison officers, psychologists,

teachers, administration, maintenance staff, and allied

health professionals

• Economic benefits will come from the flow-on effect of

purchasing goods and services from local producers and

suppliers.

Sustainability Scorecard

The Sustainability Scorecard is a tailored rating system, similar requirements to the

GBCA requirements.

All individual buildings will be assessed as a ‘whole’ under the scorecard.

The Youth Justice Centre is targeting a number of design 5 Star ‘Design’ points and

‘As-Built’ Rating.

As a brief summary, the rating system is made up of the following ‘Categories’:
