Introduction

Thank you for joining the New York Tourism Department. Your team has been appointed to re-vamp the New York State tourism business. Your assignment is to persuade tourists from all over to visit our state. Due to the fall of the economy many businesses are depending on you!

Task

You will be broken up into groups of four. Each of you will be assigned a role (Historian, Family Vacation Planner, Head of Tourism and Geographer). Your team will design a travel brochure as part of your advertising campaign to draw tourists to New York.

Procedure

1. First, you must go to I Love NY and pick what region of New York you would like to study.

2. Your brochure will have 9 sections each consisting of one page. The sections will be divided as follows:

3. Each member will choose their roles; Historian, Family Vacation Planner, Head of Tourism or Geographer. Each of you will research and write about your areas of expertise for your group’s travel brochure. (Remember we want to entice tourists to come visit New York!)

4. All members will contribute to the Cover Page, General Information on New York, General Information On Your Region and Fun Facts About New York.
