LANDMARKS IN NEW YORK CITY

There are many landmarks in New York. Some of them are very interesting to visit, like the Natural History Museum.

Brooklyn Bridge: Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the US. Completed in 1883, it connects the NYC boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. There are interesting things to see there (specially at night) like the city lights and the sea. It’s a nice place to visit.

Natural History Museum: The Natural History Museum is a giant place. There are many things on exhibit there, like dinosaurs, frogs, butterflies... It’s located at 79th Street. It’s a very interesting place, a kind of place where one can never get bored and every time he visits it he sees something new.

Metropolitan Art Museum: The Metropolitan Art Museum is located at 82nd Street. There are lots of things to see there, like paintings, sculptures... I think it must be a very quiet place.

Central Park: Central Park is located near Manhattan. It’s an enormous park, a place where many people go to rest, to do sport, or maybe just to sit and listen the birds singing. It is one of my favourite NYC landmarks.

Empire State Building: The Empire State building is located at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. It’s a 102 stories skyscraper (it’s 443 m. tall) that stood as the tallest building for 40 years. It was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1986. I don’t think there are many things to see (from down), but I like it because I like skyscrapers.

The Statue of Liberty: The Statue is located on the Liberty Island and perhaps it is the most famous landmark in all New York. It represents Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom and it was dedicated to Americans by French people in October 28, 1886.I’ve always liked this statue, and I’m not surprised that New York has so many tourists thanks to it.
