    THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY -- THE NEW "SOLID SOUTH?"

    We Southerners are a unique people, in the world as well as within the borders of these United

    States. In general, we are hard working people who are concerned about our families and ourcommunities. In many respects, we are an independent, self-reliant group, and yet at the sametime we all share a generalized common community that we all love -- the South. "Dixieland",the "Southland" bespeaks of more than "just a region." Collectively we all share a commonnationality that somewhat transcends just being another American. We are Southerners, a peopledeeply rooted in the traditions, culture, and heritage as bequeathed to us by our history, and as aresult vigorous in our politics.

    Once upon a time, the Southland was known as "the Solid South.," whenever politics was thesubject of discussion. This term was most notably applied to Southerners at a point in our historyafter the War for Southern Independence (or "Civil War" as some [incorrectly] call it.) What

    caused it was the infamous "Reconstruction Period." when our ancestors had to fend against thegreed of the opportunists, speculators, and exploiters known as "the Carpetbaggers," and a veryhostile federal government. Additional to this threat was the loss to Southerners of their local andstate government: state legislatures and local courthouses. They accomplished this quite simply:with money, a scarce commodity in the post-war South.

    This done, the Carpetbaggers could influence those persons charged with the duties of governingthe populace. This gave them the "airs" of "legality." The federal government protected theirinterests by enforcing legislation that insulated the Carpetbaggers and their cronies from any reallegal repercussions concerning their dealings no matter how questionable, or illegal.

    The Southerners of this era had a new phase of the fight on their hands, now predominatelywaged in the political arena, against no less remarkable odds. This time against the speculatorsand exploiters; the strong "lobbying" front that supported them, a federal government thatfavored them over the Southerners AND the bought state and local politicians, the "Scalawags"that were merely the lap-dogs to the enemies of the South. To counter such an overwhelmingchallenge the post-war Southerners had to be politically tight, or SOLID, they were, relativelyspeaking, hence the term, "The Solid South."

    Many Southerners (more than one would be too many) might say "that was then, this is now", oreven "The days of Reconstruction are long gone." ARE THEY REALLY? And how do theevents of roughly one hundred and thirty years ago have any relevance to today's problems inAmerica? MORE THAN MANY MAY THINK. Today there is a series of videotapes outentitled, "America in Peril" and this seems to be the general consensus among most Americans.

    Patriotic organizations have been growing like wildfire across this nation, with their movementhas come a sort of "alternative press." Through their magazines and newsletters, Americans havebeen learning "the rest of the story" concerning events like the Ruby Ridge Massacre/ The RandyWeaver case, the John Lawmaster case in Oklahoma, and perhaps more infamous than these theFBI/ BATF massacre of nearly one hundred people, mostly women and children, at the BranchDavidian complex ("compound" is a media contrived word to enhance the image of militancyamong the Branch Davidians.)

    However, these are not the only abuses of federal "law enforcement agencies that have beenreported by the various patriotic organizations, while simultaneously being twisted, downplayed,

    or ignored by the so-called "mainstream media.' Americans in general know that something iswrong with government. They feel the federal hand encroaching more and more into theireveryday lives, always maintaining that such "is for their own good." Some have lost theirproperty. Some have been imprisoned without the benefit of a trial, or even a "fair trial" (read:kangaroo court.) These problems are an American problem, and like it or not, this includes theSouth, for as yet we still are a part of these United States.

    Yet as these problems affect all of America, the South is once again caught in the bitter struggleof having to defend her honor and heritage, which is of course our own particular problem. thereare forces who would outlaw out right to hold sacred our Confederate flag, battle flag, and otheritems or emblems of the Confederate South. They say such items promote "racism," but we all

    know better than this. The REAL truth of the matter of why the federal government and the"liberal" element would BAN the symbol of our heritage is not about "racism" (no more than theWar for Southern Independence was "over slavery".) It is about nationalism. The trends in ourgovernment are moving ever closer towards socialism, the "liberals" out there both politicallyand in the media are socialist.Nationalism does not fit into the socialist way of thinkingtherefore it has to go. But rather than risking an "unmasking" the socialist call themselves"liberals" and claim that they are only acting in the "interest" of an "underprivileged" or"disadvantaged" people or group.

    This is the same force behind "gun control." This type of legislation is an infringement againstthe Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The "liberal" says that "it is to deter or reducecrime" and that "it doesn't infringe on the Second Amendment as long as we don't bother thehunters or other sports shooters." However, the socialist really means that "we don't give a damnabout the Second Amendment (or any of the Bill of Rights for that matter), we cannot havepeople keeping weapons adequate enough to defend themselves against our stormtroopers, uh,UN "peacekeepers."

    Socialism, and nothing less, is the challenge that faces the modern American patriot, and theSouthern Patriot as well. All these things tie in together: "affirmative action", "gun control", even

    movies and television shows that indoctrinate Americans on the "liberal" (socialist) ideology, oreither encourage them to "just watch the ball game, don't worry about what's going on in yourbackyard."

    So if ever there was a time for the south to become politically SOLID again, the time is NOW.

    How would we go about this? Before, but especially after, the War for Southern Independence,Southerners voted pretty much a Democratic ticket, since being a pro-Constitutionalist Party thatrecognized the real reason for the Southern States secession, and advocated a loss harsh"Reconstruction" of the Union, best represented Southern interest at that time.

    This trend carried over well into the Twentieth Century, the high water mark being the"Dixiecrat" movement and Senator Strom Thurmond (It's "swansong" in the attemptedassassination of Governor George Wallace.) However, in the years between Sen. StromThurmond and President Bill Clinton SOMETHING HAS GONE TERRIBLY WRONG. TheDemocratic Party is now BLATANTLY SOCIALIST, and to those who still maintain that they

    are Conservative Southern Democrats, give it up, for all rights and purposes your party no longerexist.

    What happened to the Democratic Party? Some point to Franklin D. Roosevelt's "New Deal" Eraas the beginning of the end, but actually the Socialist roots that now infest the Democratic Partygo even further back. In the interest of space here, let it suffice to say that the socialism of theDemocratic Party was the result of several small steps in the large direction.

    What about the Republican Party? The election of Nov. 8th, 1994, bore witness to what ourancestors and many Southerners today would consider the "unthinkable." Virtually the wholeSouth "turned Republican!" The Republican Party has been making gains in the South since the

    Nixon administration of whom it was oft said, "He (Nixon) would rather work with ConservativeSouthern Democrats as he would liberal Republicans."

    Nixon only worked to maintain a "conservative" image. His dealings with the Council onForeign Relations, however, proved his true colors (read "None Dare Call It Conspiracy" byGary Allen, 1971.) The "Reagan Era" (Note: I am including the Bush Administration with theReagan Era.) the next high water mark in recent Republican history, started out with an inspiringsense of national prosperity and tough foreign policy. It ended in a scandal where federal agents/agencies sold weapons to a known enemy of the United States, and the infamous "S and LBailout"-- so much for prosperity! Things back then were not as "bright" or positive as RushLimbaugh would have you believe.

    The greatest factor of all contributing to the Republicans' recent outstanding victory was the pro-Second Amendment Caucus, especially in the South. Granted being the most impoverishedregion in the United States economic stability is important to Southerners, and we did not wantany part of Hillary's "health care" (socialized medicine) program either. But knowing once welost our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, all of our other inalienable rights wouldbe lost as well, did most to cinch our vote.

    Although there is much talk from Republicans about repealing the anti-Second Amendmentlegislation, they will probably only attempt this half heartedly (attempting a show) and fail;comfortably opting to blame it all on the Democrats.

    Now before we continue our examination of the two primary political parties, we must now

    retrace our steps back in time.

    Since time immemorial financiers have always got their fingers into governments, be itdemocracies, republics, kingdoms, or empires. The money lenders have always found a way tomaneuver into governments, by their lending of monies to monarchs during times of crisis(normally wars.) To protect their investment the money lenders learned early on to "talkfriendly" with the enemies of the crown (we shall use for example) or even finance them as well,just to keep the King in line.

    One prominent European banking family, the Rothschilds, developed this process into an artform during the time roughly of the first American Revolution (1776-1783). All the significant

    development in Europe during the next century, the "glory" of the victors, and the "agony" of thedefeated, can be traces to how the Rothschilds "played their money."

    Roughly one hundred and thirty-four years ago, our Southern ancestors made their own bid atIndependence, and the greatest American military conflict ensued. The Rothschilds evenspeculated in this conflict:

    "During our Civil War the North was financed byRothschilds through their American agent, August

    Belmont, and the American South through theErlangers,Rothschild relatives" [Emphasis mine.]"None Dare Call It Conspiracy" by Gary Allen,1971.

    Our ancestors fought for "States' Rights'" as that is the only way to guarantee individual rights(There's a reason for the close juxtaposition of the Ninth and Tenth Amendments.) TheConfederate States of America fought against strong centralized federal government (The desireof the "Federalist" since the end of the American Revolution.) Our ancestors wanted a smaller

    federal government that acted as an agent of the states and the people (not the other way aroundas we currently suffer.) The North, unwittingly, fought for strong centralized federal governmentand so it was as Carl Sandberg said. "Before the Civil War and the Fourteenth Amendment, theUnited States were. After the Civil War, the United States is." What Sandberg was meaning ofcourse was that before our nation was a collection of states reserving certain autonomy, thefederal government was empowered only as an agent of these. After the War for SouthernIndependence the idea of the United States became as one entity--the States, merely sub-parts ofthe whole. Wonder if Carl Sandberg would be as boastful these days?

    Since the end of the war the federal government has been increasing in size and power. TheCarpetbaggers that traditionally Southerners have loathed and hated were the financial andpolitical agents of the money lenders namely the Rothschilds, although by this time JP Morganwas getting in on the action, and soon the Rockefellers ect.ect.ect. would follow.

    Just before the turn of the century these ultra-rich families merged their business. The income taxamendment (Amendment 16, 1913) was their doing. The Federal Reserve, you know, the Fed,who you pay taxes to, and who manipulates the economy by raising or lowering the inflationrate. The private concern, not a federal instrument, to which the USA owes (?) the lion's share ofa $4 trillion national debt! You may ask why they would want to bankrupt America? Simpleanswer: SO THEY CAN FORECLOSE!

    The recent GATT/ WTO (General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade -- World TradeOrganization) is their monster as well. Contrary to what you may have read or heard about theGATT/ WTO -- IT DOES THREATEN US ECONOMIC SOVEREIGNTY. This much that isbad about the GATT/ WTO we do know:

    The World Trade Organization, a supranational body will be the ultimate arbitrator of any and alldisputes. The WTO can supersede the economic law any "sovereign" member nation, on suchmatters as example:

    a) Product Development (Inventors BEWARE!)

    b) Product Quality/ Consumer Affairs (Consumers BEWARE!)

    c) WAGES (Workers and small business employers BEWARE!)

    d) The ENVIRONMENT

    The GATT/ WTO in reality constitutes a GLOBAL bureaucracy (as if the national one wasn'tbad enough). Although some of the nations leading "newsmagazines" (ie Time, Newsweek, USNews and World Report, etc.) have cited the GATT/ WTO as being anywhere from 650-800pages of text. In reality the whole GATT/ WTO is composed in two, hefty volumes, totaling4004 pages of legally binding text. It is so convoluted and so complex Socrates would bedamned hard pressed trying to figure it out! It may take years of expert study to decipher all thatis wrong with the GATT/ WTO.

    Clinton needed a lot of help in passing that brick. Who helped him? NUMBER ONEREPUBLICAN SENATOR ROBERT DOLE, who helped lead the Senate Republicans inpassing it, in exchange for "reductions in the capital gains tax", which makes Sen. Dole either aco-cospiriring traitor to his country or a complete imbecile, for the GATT/ WTO may take thematter out of the hands of our "government." Bob Dole made no trade and his overtures wereakin to ones pleading "if you'll only spare my hand. I'll help you cut my head off!"

    Also disturbing from the Republican field is House Majority leader Newt Gingrich (R-Georgia)calling for a "new" Constitutional Convention. You will recall that the last time this was done inorder to "fix" an "outdated" or "out-moded" document that instead it was declared "beyondrepair." Thus the Articles of Confederation were replaced by the present U.S. Constitution. Onecould make a safe wager that on hand out this "new" Convention will be copies of two United

    Nations Charters or Constitutions to serve as "good models." Dangerous indeed for neither of theUN Charters have a provision like our Second Amendment, so what guarantees their "humanrights" provisions? The Democrats AND the Republicans BOTH are aiding and abetting in thefall of the United States!

    In 1968, Gov. George Wallace of Alabama said of the Republicans and Democrats that towardsthe top "there's not a dimes worth of difference between them." In 1991, the Kennedy brothers,James Ronald and Walter Donald in their excellent work "The South Was Right!" stated inChapter 10 (page 243) on an itemized list of Southern grievances, Item H, "Neither nationalpolitical party represents the aspirations and concerns of the average middle class Southerners."[Emphasis mine.]

    Clearly what we are suffering from is a complex and cleverly designed political machine thatwould make ol' "Boss" Tweed green with envy for its crooked efficiency, called bipartisanship.The bi-partisan political machine is an ingenious devil controlled at the hierarchies of bothparties (ever notice how both Republicans and Democrats can be members of the sameorganizations like the Rockefeller-founded Council on Foreign Relations or the Rockefeller-founded Trilateral Commission?) Americans have been the dupe for FAR TOO LONG. Both ofthese parties at one time or another come along promising to give Americans a relief on taxesand "downsize" or "streamline" the federal government. Once in power they will cut useless andexpensive programs, bureaus, and agencies left by the other. But rather than a tax relief to thepeople they will take the money "saved" and redistribute it into other equally useless andexpensive programs, bureaus, agencies, ect. And still declare to the voters that they have kepttheir promises!

    So if we cannot trust the Democrats or the Republicans, who can be we trust? Recent events havecreated the rise of "third parties" in America. A "new" one seems to pop up every other day. Inconsidering a third party option the prudent Southerner needs to address these questions:

    1) Which BEST represents the interest of Southerners?

    2) Which is WELL ESTABLISHED enough to be a serious contender?

    In two years ofintense study this Southernerfeels that both questions are best met by theLIBERTARIAN PARTY. This party offers the one official platform that best suits the South. Itis notsomething "new" but rather something old:

    * A return to Constitutional Democratic Republican government where the federal government isan agent of the States.

    * States' Rights = Individual Rights.

    * A return to the gold standard for economic stability

    * Equal Opportunity for all, special privilege for none

    * Equal Rights and responsibility (The lack of this last part is why the Libertarian Party lobbied

    againstthe ERA.)

    There is a great misconception concerning the Libertarian Party. For some the "liber-" at thebeginning is too often mistaken for "liberal" which today's standard for a "liberal" (socialist), theparty is definitely not.

    Some people think the Libertarian Party is too pacifistic to provide strong leadership should theUnited States become involved in a war.Nothing could be further from the truth! Thismisconception probably stems from the party's pledge where new members are required to affirmthat they do not advocate the "initiation of force." [Key word emphasized] to achieve political orsocial goals. This is because the Libertarian Party is one ofethics, and that's nice to hear in

    politics these days.

    But the Libertarian Party, being pro-Second Amendment, is strong on individual rights todefense, and the obligation of government to provide for a strong military to protect our nation.One good thing is under Libertarian leadership the U.S. military would cease being the UN's"world police force." It is notthe duty of American servicemen and women to risk their livesfighting other people's battles. Another excellent aspect towards the Libertarian defense conceptis that the Libertarian Party is the only political platform that recognizes the legal veracity ofcitizen militias, in fact considers them vital to the national defense!

    Another factor that causes some confusion about the Libertarian Party is the fact that as a word

    there are two kinds of Libertarians. The capital lettered Libertarian means a person officially is amember of the party. The lower case libertarians means anyone who basically espouseslibertarian (freedom) values, but may or may not be officially affiliated with the party.

    Perhaps the greatest problem facing the Libertarian Party in its effort to win voters is itsadvocation for the legislation of narcotics. In all fairness this issue must be addressed. First of allthe Libertarian Party does notadvocate the use of drugs. The party feels one's home is one'scastle and what one does within the confines is their own business. As long as one does not harmor risk harm to another person, their property, or their right to peace, then NO crime has beencommitted. The standard model is this: It is legal to drink alcoholic beverages. It is legal to drivea car. But it is illegal to drive a car under alcoholic influence because of the potential dangers to

    others.

    Secondly, the "War on Drugs" as currently waged by the DEA, FBI, BATF, etc., is a sham. Justas the Prohibition (Amendment 18, 1919) did not work neither has the "War on Drugs." Like thatgreat mistake such "laws" only create a riskwhich is translated into increased profits by thecriminal element. More times than not the sheer volume of money involved proves too temptingto some law enforcement officers and agents as well as officers of the courts. So one can see therisk of such "laws" promoting official corruption.

    Basically, the drug problem is a moral problem, not a legal one. The Libertarian Party has faithin the American people to police themselves. The issue therefore is best dealt with when left inthe hands of the communities, the churches, and clinic organizations. The Libertarian Partyviews mankind along the same parameters that are taught in the Holy Scriptures, that man wascreated by God to be a free moral agent. The words "individual responsibility" must be coupled

    with "individual liberty" in a free and functioning society.

    This raises another point. The Libertarian Party has been accused of being atheistic, or anti-religion, anti-Christian even. This is absolutely ridiculous! Many people affiliated with andmember of the Libertarian Party ARE religious, many are Christians, and Jewish. TheLibertarian Party staunchly adheres to the Bill of Rights, the First Amendment of which state inpast "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the freeexercise thereof."

    The Libertarian Party recognizes the right of the people to follow the religious paths as they feelcalled to do so, likewise if someone chooses not to believe in God, this is their right, and their

    own business as well. But the Libertarian Party is not hostile to churches or religion.

    The time of crisis are already upon is. Hanging in the balance are our rights and our liberties--even religion. Contrary to the brush off of the naysayers, the New World Order CONSPIRACY(Yes, I DARE call it that.) is not "the paranoid delusion of the extreme right wing." It is very realand very dangerous. The super-rich propagators have chosen socialism as the form ofgovernment, not because it best serves the people, but because it best controls the people. Inorder for it to work, individuality will have to be established. National diversity (remember ourheritage is gravely at stake here) will have to be replaced with multiculturalism. Religiousdiversity would have to be replaced with a one world religious order. (The conspirators saw theproblem with religious banishment with their experiment in the "former" Soviet Union.) They

    are not talking about "communism" (communal sharing which eventually falls to socialismanyway.) Socialism simply means that all matters affairs, issues, and property (ever notice howmuch more difficult it is to make those mortgage payments than it was say--just ten years ago?)are to be controlled by the state. Being the "bosses" the super-rich are not in any danger of losingtheir fortunes, you are.

    The next four years could determine the fate of America's future. It is inconceivable to believethat this nation can withstand four more years of rule under the bi-partsian political machine, theupper echelon Republicans and Democrats who are but merely puppets to the NWO conspiracy.It IS NOT TOO LATE, as of yet to stop this from happening, but if we falter in indecision fortoo much longer, IT WILL BE.

    The lines have been clearly drawn for you. NOW is the time to decide, FREE or SLAVE? That isthe question that has again cast its pall over this nation. Did Mr. Lincoln's War of Aggressionmerely "free a race and enslave a nation?" WE MAY YET FIND OUT! What will the Southhave? FREEDOM OR GLOBAL ENSLAVEMENT? Now is not the time for apathy! So don'tsay you are one person who can do nothing! DON'T SAY it does not concern you!

    The South has suffered FAR TOO LONG the "good ol' boy" politics that is but the manifestationof CARPETBAGGER MENTALITY! Choose now the stand you will take, along by the "goodol' boys" that are the lap dogs to fat cats--or--FREEDOM AND VINDICATION for theSouthland!

    Without a doubt, the Libertarian Party BEST represents the interest of the South, but it cannothelp us unless we help it now. Although the largest and longest third party (forget theIndependent ticket, if it does have a platform it has only recently adopted one--before it simplymeant a candidate was not affiliated with either the Republicans or Democrats) established andalthough it is still growing with more and more disillusioned Republicans and Democrats (likemyself). The Libertarian Party still needs more members and support.

    The South needs desperately to be POLITICALLY SOLID--NOW IS THE TIME! We could doourselves no better service in our fight for our freedoms and cultural survival than to join thisparty, and support it in its growth. It is the only platform available that can come to our aid. Nowis the time for the South to rise again and be the leader in the fight for American liberty and

    justice! Why? The original bid for American Independence was led by many, now famous men.Many of the greatest among them were Southerners (including my two personal favoritesThomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry) Since that time the South has borne the Sons of Liberty --yes! Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee

    Given such a legacy as this , action and leadership on our past now is not only our duty, it is ourbirthright!

    Heed the words of this famous Virginia Patriot:

    "They tell us, sir, that we are weak, unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But whenshall we be stronger? Will it be next week, or next year? . . . . Shall we gather strength byirresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely onour backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us handand foot? Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen with? What would they (now you)have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?Forbid it Almighty God! I know not what course others may take, but as for me, GIVE MELIBERTY, OR GIVE ME DEATH!"
