Newsletter T1 W3 Thursday 13 February 2020 School Support In 2020 we are fortunate to again be supported by St Vincent de Paul Society. This financial support allows the school to directly support students with access to new school uniforms and excursion and camp assistance. Part of the funds also go into our Breakfast Club each morning. We thank Vinnies for their ongoing support. If you are in need of financial assistance please contact the school and make an appointment to speak to the Principal. These discussions are private. A big thanks also to Christian West and the team at PPD for again supporting our school in 2020. This financial support means that purchases such as extra technology, flexible room furniture and additional work not included in department funding can occur. Christian has been associated with the school for a number of years now and we thank him very much for his ongoing support. If you have a business or would like to actively support the school please contact the Principal through the school office. Apart from the benefits of supporting a local school, businesses are able to prominently display banners, be involved in community activities and display logos and ads in newsletters. Parent Information Sessions On Tuesday February 18 we will be holding our annual Parent Information Evening which is a time for parents to come up and meet the teachers and hear about the great things planned for 2020. This will be particularly useful this year as we have new classroom settings and new staff to introduce. I hope many parents can attend. At 6.00pm we have Kindergarten, Year 1, Year 3 and Year 4, whilst at 7.00pm we have Year 2 and Years 5/6. Please look out for the note sent home and the poster in this newsletter. Thanks. School Support In 2020 we are fortunate to again be supported by St

Vincent de Paul Society.

Thanks.

Swimming Carnival Today we held our annual swimming carnival. Congratulations to all of our swimmers who had a go at the events or participated in the wading pool for non-swimmers. We hope you had a good day.

Results will be given at next week’s Assembly. Thanks to Miss Mitsoulis and the team for organising another great carnival.

Kiss and Go If you wish your child to do Kiss and Go in the afternoon, please speak to the Office who can make you up a sign for your car.

Please communicate with your child and their teacher so that everyone knows what days your child is doing Kiss and Go. The system does not work when students are not told and cars are blocking the street waiting for a child who is not coming.

Most students do a great job in assisting with Kiss and Go in the afternoon. Let’s all work together to ensure it is as smooth as possible.

Sharing of Information A reminder to all parents and carers the importance of sharing information with the school.

On each enrolment form information is requested in regards to special circumstances (parent supervision, court orders, Out of Home Care etc), additional learning and support needs and medical details and health conditions.

If any of this information changes please let the office know. It is extremely important that staff know important information about your child in order to give them the best education possible. The Principal is available for any confidential information.

Lost Property Students and parents are encouraged to check the Lost Property area at the front of the school, through the first entrance door in A Block. The area has recently had a clean out and many items of clothing have been returned to students.

Senior students will monitor this area weekly in 2020 and it will have a major clean out at the end of each term.

Student uniforms, bags, lunch boxes and hats are not cheap and we encourage all our students to look after their own belongings.

Clean Up Australia Day - Sunday March 1 A group under the school name has been organised for the Clean Up Australia Day at Maroubra Beach. If you are interested please email one of our parents Tracy at [email protected]

Basketball Lessons Unfortunately, due to lack of student numbers the morning basketball program will not be running in 2020. Thank you to all those families who have supported this program over the years.
