The dedicated quarter-turn IQT mechanical package is designed for the efficient, direct drive operation of valves requiring torques up to 2000Nm. It shares many of the capabilities of its IQ parent range including permanent environmental double-sealing, infrared communication, an on- board data logger, rationalised ‘system on a chip’ electronics and flexible control technology. The IQT quarter-turn actuator can operate from a 3-phase, single-phase or DC electrical supply. The output speed of the motor can be ‘non-intrusively’ adjusted over a 4:1 range without affecting the output torque, thanks to the infrared communications system. The same infrared control interface enables analysis and re- programming to be carried out either remotely via laptops or PDA’s, or in-situ utilising the electronic menu on the actuator’s help screens. The actuator's integral data logger stores operational data in historical order, including valve torque profiles that can be used for predictive valve maintenance. All IQT actuators incorporate a double-sealed, permanently watertight enclosure conforming to IP68 (NEMA 4, 4X and 6). Hazardous area actuators are fully approved to the latest ATEX standards. Valve drive couplings comply to either ISO 5211 or MSS SP-101.
