The linear pumps in the Series6000 from Rietschle Thomascan now be specified with 12 Vand 24 V DC power options. Inaddition, there is also a new 24V AC-version available to end-users in the scientificcommunity who utilise batterypower. Typical applications forthe new range include fuelcells, portable gas analysers,portable aspirators and mostother mobile applications in thelaboratory.
The top range 6025 SE vacuumpump can achieve a maximumfree flow rate performance of
57.2 l/m and run continuouslyat a constant pressure of 0.28bar. The maximum continuousvacuum level achievable for thepump is –271 mbar.
In addition, the linear pumpseries emits a low sound levelof 45 dB(a), making it suitablefor noise sensitive applicationsand, according to themanufacturers, the unit cantypically withstand 36,000hours of service life before itneeds replacing.

New quarter-turn valveactuatorRotork has launched the IQTquarter turn valve actuator –the latest addition to its rangeof IQ electric actuatorsdesigned for use with pumpand general industrial processsystems.
The dedicated quarter-turn IQTmechanical package isdesigned for the efficient,direct drive operation of valvesrequiring torques up to2000Nm. It shares many of thecapabilities of its IQ parentrange including permanentenvironmental double-sealing,infrared communication, an on-board data logger, rationalised‘system on a chip’ electronicsand flexible control technology.
The IQT quarter-turn actuatorcan operate from a 3-phase,single-phase or DC electricalsupply. The output speed of themotor can be ‘non-intrusively’adjusted over a 4:1 rangewithout affecting the outputtorque, thanks to the infraredcommunications system. Thesame infrared control interfaceenables analysis and re-programming to be carried outeither remotely via laptops orPDA’s, or in-situ utilising theelectronic menu on theactuator’s help screens.
The actuator's integral datalogger stores operational datain historical order, includingvalve torque profiles that canbe used for predictive valvemaintenance. All IQT actuatorsincorporate a double-sealed,permanently watertightenclosure conforming to IP68(NEMA 4, 4X and 6). Hazardousarea actuators are fullyapproved to the latest ATEXstandards. Valve drive couplingscomply to either ISO 5211 orMSS SP-101. Connectivityoptions include FoundationFieldbus, Profibus andDeviceNet open systems, aswell as Rotork's own dedicatedPakscan system and In-VisionPC-based SCADA software.

The new Moyno® PowerSeal™ can handle temperaturesof up to 350°F and pressures upto 200psi. It’s designed to beused with high viscosity fluidsand solids-laden slurries indemanding pump applications.
The Power Seal features 316stainless steel construction,Viton O-rings and hard siliconcarbide faces, with optionalTungsten carbide faces andalternative elastomer O-ringssuch as Nitrile, EPDM or Kalrez.By specifying the optionalmaterials, the temperatureresistance of the seal can beenhanced up to 500°F and itspressure capability rises to300psi.
The seal design has a thick crosssection, which according to themanufacturers should ensure along life and more effectivehandling of high startingtorques, often encountered ona solids-laden slurry duty. Inaddition, the Power Seal's shortdesign and forward locationposition the seal closer to theproduct flow path and shouldenable easy installation andmaintenance. The sealhousing's beveled profile allowsfor free draining and higherfluid circulation.
The seal is intended for usewith Moyno’s range ofprogressing cavity pumps.

KBL launch integrated pump and motor Kirloskar Brothers Ltd hasdeveloped a new CannedMotor Pump (CMP) for thechemical, process, and nuclearpower industries.
It claims the enclosed pump andmotor unit offers leak-freeoperation for handlinghazardous fluids in demandingapplications, temperatureresistance up to 280°C, and apressure capability up to 180kg/cm2. The pump also hasexplosion-proof operation,
protection devices fitted asstandard to guard againstoverloading or dry running, anda sealed and jacketedconstruction technique, whichallows steam heating andwater-cooling.
The CMP pump is available insingle or multistage constructionswith both vertical and horizontalconfigurations.
