COors it NonrWErua Txas.s-The Dallas Herald, of the 3d inst., has the following: Mr Raoney, who returned a few days sine. from Belknap, gives gratifying accounts of the crops in Parker, Palo Pinlto and Youbg•ouontles. The wheat crop has been barvested, and bas made an atlndant yield. The corn crops are-excellent, being fa tin ad- vance of those on the Trinity. These counties have been favored with an eacellent season, good rains have fallen at proper intervals, and the crops have neither suffered from drouth or excesl of nlin. Mach of the corn has advanced beyond the roasting ear, and the crop is considered secure tfrom any casualty. Wheat was selling at sixaty-Eve cents per bhoshel. We rejoice in the- prosperity of our frontier neighbors. The people of these counties sufflred' rptly the past two years from the drouth. which produ•ed an almost total failureof crops and a distresiogscelrcity of breadstuffs. This had the effect of deterring emi- gration, and thus affected the prosperity of the coun- try very severely. We take pleashre In saying to emigrants, and persons generally in search of homes, that they will find superior inducements in the coun- ties named-cheap lands, a delightful country, and an abundance of breadstuff!, at the most moderate prices. JENNY LIrn.-Madame Jenny Lind ooldschmidt resolved, as is well known, a long time ago, after she had given ap her projected journey to Russia, to leave her present residence, Dresden, and settle in England. This intention she has now carried out. After all her furniture in Dresdes had been disposed of, no inconsiderable number of packages, with articles of value, etc., were forwarded last week via lamburg to England, where Jenny Lind will repose in retirement on her laurels, at a villa near London. [Mstik Zeitung. HORRIBLE IlMUDER Ir NORTH ALAeBAIa.-The Huntsville Advocate has the following account of a terrible tragedy which recently occurred in North Alabama : On Tuesday of last week, the 29th alt., Thomas Bibb, a sprightly son of Porter Bibb, Eqi.. aged about thirteen years. living 'near Moouresville,Ala- bama, left bis father's house to go to a neighbor's on a hoohuting excursion. He took with him a double- barrel shot gun, and three pounds of shot: nd powder in proportion. His absence for several days, there- fore, excited no surprise. Bot no Friday morning last his dead body was found about a quarter of a mile from his iather's house. His skull had been badly broken by a billet of wood found near by., and several small shot holes on the top and hack of one of his shoulders, and some of his ribs were torn out as if done by hogs. His gun, ammuoni tion and hat were gone. The trucks of the boy wire aound running and those of somte one ptrsuing, and marks around a tree, as if the little fellow tried to dodge his pursuer. The pursuing tracerswere those of a negro. A negro man belonging to Mr. Bibb, who has been in the woods for several months, and. his been lately seen more than once in that vicinity, is suspected of having committed the fieidiih mur- der; and that it was done, too, to get possession of the gun and the ammunition. P. S.--Since the aboye was put in type, we learn that ose of Mr. Bibb's own tegroes (not the runaway one, either) has confessed to murdering his young master, and has been committed to jail. He said he killed him to get the gun with which he wished to kill master, but the gun was recovered. WnHA CAUSED cTH DUtL iBarwaIN CLAY AND RANDoLPn.-The cause of the duel between these distinguished men, was the following insulting lan- guage used by Mr. Randolph towards Mr. Clay, In secret session of the Senate, in 1825 : This man--(mankind, I crave your parden)-this worm (little insects forgive the insult,) was spit out or the wombof wiakneas-was raised to a higher Ille than be was born to, for he was raised to the society of blackguards. Some fortune, kind to him, cruel to us, has towed him to the Seeketary of State. Con- tempt has the propertyof descending, but she stoops far short of him. Sihe would die before she would reach him; he dwells below her fall. I would hate him if I did not despise him. It is not what he Is, but where he is, that puts my thoughts it saction. This alphabet, which writes the name of Thersites, of blackguard, of equalidity, retuses her letters for him. That mind thinks on what it cannot express, can scarcely think on him. A hyperbole for mean- ness would be an ellipsis for Clay. A PRINTING OFFiU ULBOWN UP.-Mr. Rogers, of the Central Enqhirer, published at Centerville, Bibb county, Ala., was recently in Selma; and informed the editor of the Sentinel of a destructive and ex- citing blow-up in the former town. The Sentinel of the 9th says: He says on Friday about dark, while Mr. Jacob D. Kerrh was striking a, match acrose the counter, in his grocery, preparatory to lighting a candle, a piece of the mathob dropped into a keg of powder, which wasstanding open under the counter. As a matter of course, a tremendos explosion ensued, blowing one end of the house literally into fragmenta, serting Or. Kersh's clothes on fire, nnd burning hlntin a most shocking manner, so badly that it is leared he will not recover. Hir. Carson was io the grocery at the time, and was blown out of the house, but was inno woy hurt. The upper esury of the building was occu. pid by our friend iogers, with his printing office, H esays his types were scattered to the four winds of the earth, his cases split open, his press ;rlken, anud in fact making pbrfect pi of the whole office. Mr. Rtges and one or two of his hands had Just left the office to go to supper, not more than live minutes before. This is the m:ot singular accidentwea ever heard of, and it is reared will prove a mset fatal one to our friend Kerth. A lady being about to marry a small man, was told that ho was a very had fellow. ,"Well," said shei " if he's bhad there's one comfort-there's very little of him." COors it NonrWErua Txas.s-The DallasHerald, of the 3d inst., has the following:

Mr Raoney, who returned a few days sine. fromBelknap, gives gratifying accounts of the crops inParker, Palo Pinlto and Youbg•ouontles. The wheatcrop has been barvested, and bas made an atlndantyield. The corn crops are-excellent, being fa tin ad-vance of those on the Trinity. These counties havebeen favored with an eacellent season, good rainshave fallen at proper intervals, and the crops haveneither suffered from drouth or excesl of nlin. Machof the corn has advanced beyond the roasting ear,and the crop is considered secure tfrom any casualty.Wheat was selling at sixaty-Eve cents per bhoshel. Werejoice in the- prosperity of our frontier neighbors. The people of these counties sufflred' rptly thepast two years from the drouth. which produ•ed analmost total failure of crops and a distresiogscelrcityof breadstuffs. This had the effect of deterring emi-gration, and thus affected the prosperity of the coun-try very severely. We take pleashre In saying toemigrants, and persons generally in search of homes, that they will find superior inducements in the coun-ties named-cheap lands, a delightful country, andan abundance of breadstuff!, at the most moderateprices.

HORRIBLE IlMUDER Ir NORTH ALAeBAIa.-TheHuntsville Advocate has the following account of aterrible tragedy which recently occurred in NorthAlabama :

On Tuesday of last week, the 29th alt., ThomasBibb, a sprightly son of Porter Bibb, Eqi.. agedabout thirteen years. living 'near Moouresville, Ala-bama, left bis father's house to go to a neighbor'son a hoohuting excursion. He took with him a double-barrel shot gun, and three pounds of shot: nd powderin proportion. His absence for several days, there-fore, excited no surprise. Bot no Friday morninglast his dead body was found about a quarter ofa mile from his iather's house. His skull had beenbadly broken by a billet of wood found near by.,and several small shot holes on the top and hackof one of his shoulders, and some of his ribs weretorn out as if done by hogs. His gun, ammuonition and hat were gone. The trucks of the boy wire

aound running and those of somte one ptrsuing, andmarks around a tree, as if the little fellow tried tododge his pursuer. The pursuing tracers were thoseof a negro. A negro man belonging to Mr. Bibb, who has been in the woods for several months, and.his been lately seen more than once in that vicinity,is suspected of having committed the fieidiih mur-der; and that it was done, too, to get possession ofthe gun and the ammunition.

P. S.--Since the aboye was put in type, we learnthat ose of Mr. Bibb's own tegroes (not the runawayone, either) has confessed to murdering his youngmaster, and has been committed to jail. He said hekilled him to get the gun with which he wished tokill master, but the gun was recovered.

WnHA CAUSED cTH DUtL iBarwaIN CLAY ANDRANDoLPn.-The cause of the duel between thesedistinguished men, was the following insulting lan-guage used by Mr. Randolph towards Mr. Clay, Insecret session of the Senate, in 1825 :

This man--(mankind, I crave your parden)-thisworm (little insects forgive the insult,) was spit outor the womb of wiakneas-was raised to a higher Illethan be was born to, for he was raised to the societyof blackguards. Some fortune, kind to him, cruel tous, has towed him to the Seeketary of State. Con-tempt has the propertyof descending, but she stoopsfar short of him. Sihe would die before she wouldreach him; he dwells below her fall. I would hatehim if I did not despise him. It is not what he Is,but where he is, that puts my thoughts it saction. This alphabet, which writes the name of Thersites,of blackguard, of equalidity, retuses her letters forhim. That mind thinks on what it cannot express, can scarcely think on him. A hyperbole for mean-ness would be an ellipsis for Clay.

A PRINTING OFFiU ULBOWN UP.-Mr. Rogers, ofthe Central Enqhirer, published at Centerville, Bibbcounty, Ala., was recently in Selma; and informedthe editor of the Sentinel of a destructive and ex-citing blow-up in the former town. The Sentinel ofthe 9th says:

He says on Friday about dark, while Mr. Jacob D.Kerrh was striking a, match acrose the counter, inhis grocery, preparatory to lighting a candle, a pieceof the mathob dropped into a keg of powder, whichwas standing open under the counter. As a matterof course, a tremendos explosion ensued, blowingone end of the house literally into fragmenta, sertingOr. Kersh's clothes on fire, nnd burning hlntin a mostshocking manner, so badly that it is leared he willnot recover. Hir. Carson was io the grocery at thetime, and was blown out of the house, but was in nowoy hurt. The upper esury of the building was occu.pid by our friend iogers, with his printing office,H esays his types were scattered to the four winds ofthe earth, his cases split open, his press ;rlken, anudin fact making pbrfect pi of the whole office. Mr.Rtges and one or two of his hands had Just left theoffice to go to supper, not more than live minutesbefore. This is the m:ot singular accidentwea everheard of, and it is reared will prove a mset fatal oneto our friend Kerth.
