Mr. Mohamed Bin Shafar is the Chairman of the

Board and one of ASGC’s founders. He is a retired

Major General of the UAE Armed Forces and holds

a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a

Master degree in Military Science.

In the 1980’s, Mr. Mohamed Bin Shafar envisioned

a construction company that could support UAE’s

ambitious development agenda. An important part

of his vision was a vertically integrated construction

group that could handle all aspects of construction

including MEP, steel, joinery, ready-mix concrete and

pre-cast elements.

Over the years, the Chairman’s vision has been

realised and ASGC is now the pre-eminent

construction group in the UAE.

Mr. Emad Azmy is one of ASGC Group’s founders

and brings more than 30 years of leadership and

executive management experience to ASGC, making

it one of the largest construction groups in the

region, with offices in the UAE, Egypt, UK, and mega

projects spanning across several countries in the

Middle East and Africa.

Mr. Azmy has received numerous awards and

recognitions. He holds an honorary Ph D from

Heriot-Watt University of Edinburgh, Scotland and

has been featured in the Construction Week Power

100 list for the last many years, ranking the 3rd most

powerful person in construction in the UAE in 2019.

Mr. Emad Azmy started his career with Egypt’s

largest contractor at the time, The Arab Contractors,

right after he graduated from the University of

Asiut in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil

Engineering.

associate of the Chartered Institute

of Arbitrators and a member of

the Young Presidents Organization

(“YPO”).

ASUSG is the flagship company of ASGC Construction

LLC. ASU started a SWITCHGEAR DIVISION in ASGC

Construction LLC in 2008 to support its other MEP

divisions. 2007 was the date of launching ASU as

electromechanical Limited Liability Company charged

to look after electromechanical contracts.

ASUSG is actively contributing / supporting the other

MEP divisions, providing all required Switchgears as

and when needed as per the time schedule of the

project.

ASUSG shares with its customers the solidity of its

resources, capital base and Financial Strength. ASUSG

pursues client’s satisfaction regarding budgetary

constrains/ limits and target completion date without

compromising the quality of the whole project.

ASUSG has successfully gained a reputation in many

ASUSG defines Life Critical activities as those that pose the highest risk of serious injuries or fatalities in the

benchmarked with other companies and industry groups and collected and analyzed internal best practices to

develop the Life Critical initiative, which sharpens our focus on the precursors that can lead to serious injuries or

and inspection processes to ensure that hazards are being thoroughly identified and appropriately controlled.
