HOLY CROSS 2017 PICTORIAL DIRECTORY

We are preparing to publish a new pictorial directory. The last directory was published in 2011. IPC will again assist us. Starting June, sign-up sheets will be available at church entrances for you to confirm a date & time that would best suit your and your family. Portrait days: Aug. 14-16 & Sept. 14-16, in the Gerein Centre. You receive a FREE copy of the directory. There will be no cost to you for the portrait published in the directory. You have the opportunity to have additional individual or family photographs taken, and to purchase studio quality portraits at reasonable prices. Please note: you are under no obligation to purchase. We hope you will represented in our parish’s directory as part of the Holy Cross’ family! Parishioners who are not registered but wish to for-malize their HC Membership, please inform the office.

May 21, 2017-6th Sunday of Easter

“For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that be God’s will, than for doing evil.” 1 Peter 3:17

The old line says “if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.” Many of us are diligent in our plan-

ning, making sure things are progressing smoothly, then disaster strikes, we don’t get the result that was

intended. An unforeseen problem arises. Many times we may respond negatively. Why me? I did every-

thing right! Here’s the thing – God has a different and better plan in store for you.

TF35: What's A Catholic To Believe About Marian Apparitions? Welcome to another week of Thinking Faith! Brett and Eric are continuing with last week's Marian theme (In keeping with this Marian month of May) and ripping into the mailbag to answer some listener ques-tions about Marian Apparitions. This week we address questions from James and Elaine who find them-selves wondering about the propensity of Mary to appear from time, the tradition of the Church to mark some of these places as special pilgrimage sites, and just how we, as Catholics, ought to approach the testimonies and experiences of the witnesses, seers, and pilgrims associated with them. As we prepare to honor the 100th Anniversary of the Fatima Apparitions which began on May 13, 1917, we invite you to join us as we ask "What's A Catholic to Believe about Marian Apparitions?" http://thinkingfaith.libsyn.com/tf35-whats-a-catholic-to-believe-about-marian-apparitions The Fourth and final video responding to Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide: A series of short locally-prepared videos about “Finding the Gifts in a World of Choices” have been pro-duced in Saskatchewan under the direction of a Saskatchewan bishops’ advisory committee, thanks to financial support from the Saskatchewan K of C Charitable Foundation. The final video focusing on L’Ar-che follows the video on Suicide Prevention – and has been added to the first two short videos released earlier on Palliative Care and on Care for the Elderly. All four videos can be found online at: https://archregina.sk.ca/pastoral-services/reverence-life or on www.findingthegifts.ca. Please watch and share! Please feel free to use, share, and promote the video series in whatever way works best for your parish The Anglican-Roman Catholic Covenant Implementation Committee invites you to join us for our Annual Worship Service on Pentecost Sunday June 4th at 7:00 p.m. Vespers will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive in Regina. Archbishop Don Bolen and Bishop Rob Hard-wick will both be in attendance. Very Rev. Mike Sinclair, Rector of St Paul’s Cathedral and Dean of the Diocese of Qu’Appelle, will be the homilist. The service will be followed by a reception. The Canada Day Eucharistic Celebration by Archbishop Donald J.
