ODINAFRICA in Nigeria is implemented by the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR) established in November 1975 by the Research Institutes Establishment Order of 1975.

ACTIVITIES
The Library was established in 1975 to source, acquire, orga-nize and make available various materials that will help to meet the Institute’s and interested users’ research needs, bearing in mind the mandate of the Institute.
The center received book donations of 520 FAO publications from the FAO office Abuja Nigeria. The center is fully automated with access made easy through INMAGIC use.

The Nigerian coastal and marine area with a coastal length of 853km is a narrow coastal strip of land bordered by the Gulf of Guinea of the Central Eastern Atlantic. The coastal areas stretch inland for a distance of about 15km in Lagos to about 150km in the Niger Delta.
ACOUSTIC DOPPLER CURRENT (ADCP) PROFILING SURVEYAn Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) is an electronic instrument to measure how fast water is moving across an entire water column. It can also have sensors for measuring water temperature, bathymetry, salinity, tides, etc across the water column.
