PHI THETA KAPPA

• Phi Theta Kappa is the official International Honor Society for two-year colleges.

• Incorporated in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa is now the largest honor society in American higher education.– It has more than

• 2 million members • 1,200 chapters

BETA IOTA RHO

• Beta Iota Rho is the local chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Luzerne County Community College.

• Our chapter, chartered on December 12, 2000, is a member of the Middle States Region. – Currently, we have 287 members.

MEMBERSHIP

REQUIREMENTS

• A student must:– be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours at LCCC

during Fall or Spring Semesters. – have a GPA of 3.5 or better. – have completed 12 hours or more of transfer level

courses.

• As members of Phi Theta Kappa, students receive:– Eligibility for scholarships

• including completion scholarships to assist finishing associate’s degree

• & many excellent transfer scholarships to four-year universities
