President’s Message
Club and CTTY Sponsor
To all of those that love Cadillacs, Welcome 2020. We’re here, dare we look back. This past year was great. However, we’re committed to making this the best club . . . period. New mem-bers, fun and memorable experiences along with seeing your friends, are all good reasons to attend any event or meeting. We wish everyone a Happy New Year and may this be one of the best for each of you. There are lots of things planned for this year so watch the newsletter and the website and we hope to see all of you at all of the events. Holiday Donations. Thank you to all of your gener-ous donations to Toys for Tots and The Toy Run to make sure the holiday is special for kids here in Las Vegas. New Meeting Location and Day. In January, we’ll have a new place to meet It will be at Deans Place, 8355 Dean Martin Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89139. The day changes to the 4th Tuesday. We’ll be evaluat-ing the location over the next 6 months. Location for club meetings. Of all the things we discuss as a Board, this is perhaps the one thing that frustrates us the most. Why? Frankly, we don’t want to disappoint any of you. As members of the Board, we’d attend the meeting if it was in Mesquite (maybe not that far but you get the idea). Why? We’re all committed to serving you, the member. Next, because like you, we love seeing you, our friends at least once a month. We want to “catch up.” We know that by selecting ANY venue or certain day, we’re going to exclude some members from coming out for a variety of reasons. Some of the many reasons include: it’s too far, it takes too much time to drive there or I can’t make that day due to other commitments. Those are a few at the top of the list. Just remember, IF, you’re looking for a rea-son NOT to do anything, any reason will do. I didn’t make that last remark to upset anyone. It’s really more of a thought piece. I’ve never been to any company (including any of the ones I’ve been privileged to lead) that there was not disagreement on a decision that had/had to be made or people that got along or did not get along with others. But we are all here for one reason—we love Cadillacs. . Once again, there’s not a good reason to stay away. It’s once a month that you get the chance to be with your Cadillac friends.
We hope you’ll seriously consider meeting with us and catching up with your Cadillac friends with us in our new location, Dean’s Place. Our next meeting is on the 28th of January. I really hope to see all of you there. Good news. When you all show up, we have seats and tables for everyone. Until next time

Resolution Amending Director terms
Be it resolved by the members assembled that that Article Six Section Three of the bylaws is amended by replacing it in its entirety with the following:
(a) Directors shall serve a three-year term, which terms shall be staggered such that a similar but not necessarily equal number shall be elected annually.
(b) In the first election of directors after the adoption of this section, the entire board
shall be elected. At their first meeting following the election, the directors shall, by agreement, assign terms of one, two, and three years in similar but not necessari-ly equal numbers, with longer terms being favored. If the directors fail to reach such agreement, the terms shall be assigned by drawing lots.
(c) Directors appointed by the board shall serve until the next election of directors. Rationale: The current bylaws do not address terms. This will be discussed, reviewed and voted on at the January meeting.
Recommended Bylaw Changes
Cadillac is bringing back real names for its vehicles
If you regularly confuse your friends telling them which Cadillac model you’re driving on an upcoming sales trip, we’ve got good news. Cadillac announced it will slowly phase out its existing alphanumeric naming strategy in favor of actual model names. At this point, we don’t know whether classic names will resurface or new ones will be made. We do know that the nomenclature shift will start in roughly two years, when the first of Cadillac’s previously-announced all-electric vehicles is due to hit the scene. As each new model in Cadillac’s future EV portfolio breaks cover, it will carry a real nameplate instead of letters and numbers. Does this mean that in a few years you’ll be able to spring for the Fleetwood, rather than the Coupe de Ville? Source: https://www.classic-carauction.com/auction-results?auctionnbr=67
Thanks to John Bergler for the article.

Uncle Phil is a member of our local Cadillac Club and we thank him for allowing us to see his car col-
lection. It is with great pride that the Phil Maloof Foundation's rare collection of classic cars displays
vehicles from the 1920's through the 1960's which have been saved from the crusher. The favorite car
Phil has in his collection is a 1941 Cadillac, just like the first car his father bought him as a young adult
and the very first one he learned to drive. Included in this collection is also a rare 1931 American
LaFrance Fire truck. It is part of one of the most prestigious car collections in the world of which there
are 80 cars at pre-sent. The Maloof family is a prominent American family based in Las Vegas, Neva-
da, who are owners of numerous business properties in the Western United States. The family is Leb-
anese via their paternal grandfather. Originally from New Mexico, the Maloof's success really began
with the distributing rights of Coors Beer in the Southwest region of the US in 1937.
Collection is located on the West Side of Rancho Dr. Between the 95 and Alta. Between Rancho Belaire and Rancho Estates.
There is a white fence with lamps on the top. The entrance is just a drive way. If at all possible park nearby and walk.

Las Vegas Cruising Association and many car clubs in town for
the Annual Toy Run to Dr. Beverly Mathis Elementary School Las

naughty or nice. Thanks to all of you that showed up for a won-

party. Watch for this fun time each year. A special thanks to Jerry
Robinson and DR for pictures and taking the toys to the run.
Yes we know the picture to the left is not a Cadillac but it is

Alex Silva with QSI Specialists (QSI) (Mystery Shoppers; Nevada Private In-
vestigator License #883). If you are planning service in the near future at
a local dealer in Henderson, Las Vegas, Reno and Carson City Ne-
vada, please contact him to make arrangements. The Las Vegas
Cadillac Club is just providing this information to you. Please also
feel free to pass this information to other Cadillac Owners.
QSI Specialists is a leader in the mystery shopping industry. We work exclusively in Nevada and all of our evaluators have gone through FBI background checks. QSI Specialists was founded in 1998 by Robert Maheu. We conduct mystery shops focusing on service, integrity, and guest experiences across all service sector industries. QSI’s client has retained them to evaluate the customer experience having a service done at a Ca-dillac Dealership. We currently are evaluating the service at the dealerships in Henderson, Las Ve-gas, Reno and Carson City Nevada. Any members (with the exception of people who are employed by the dealerships) of your club who will allow us to accompany them on a service visit so that we can report on the experience will receive a $60 reimbursement (not including complimentary ser-vices or recalls; as QSI specialists are only reimbursed for actual expenses, in the unlikely even the service is less than $60, they would receive the actual amount of the service.) towards the approved service of their choice. Verify that the service is included when making the appointment. Any member who is interested in receiving $60 towards their choice of the above services or for questions should contact Alex Silva to arrange for an evaluator to accompany them on a visit to the dealership. He’ll also be at our January meeting. Alex Silva can be reached via e-mail at [email protected] All can be reached during office hours (M-F, 9-5) at 702-891-0500 Ext. 2080.

1941 Cadillac Line-up 1941 Cadillac Series 61 While the great Bill Mitchell is now known for many great designs and automotive concepts, one of his first truly memorable projects was the 1941 line up of Cadillac models. Mitchell got his start with General Motors just a few years prior in the Art & Colour studio on Dec. 10, 1935 at just 23-years-old. The 1941 Cadillac models offered the consumer the unique Cadillac style which had become a favorite among the motoring public in America. The models represented Coach-Craft by Fleetwood and great ap-pointments of the Fleetwood interior were all completed and designed to the last detail. Also contributing to the superior design of the 1941 Cadillacs was GM Designer Arthur Ross. Ross, was credited with creating the first sketch using the horizontal grill with an egg-crate texture. 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Some designers have called the 1941 Cadillac models as one of the most cher-ished of American automobiles throughout history. Cadillac sales set a new record. The all new 1941 Cadil-lac models established Cadillac as America's ultimate automobile status symbol. 1941 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 The durable V-8 engine was unchanged for the 1941 model year, but the frame was redesigned to be much more rigid for a smoother ride on all types of roads. At that time, Cadillac offered the consumer the Sixty-One, Sixty-Two, Sixty-Three, Sixty-Seven and the great looking Fleetwood Sixty Special and the popular Fleetwood Seventy-Five. Another new model that was added to the Cadillac brand in 1941 was the Series 67 model which was a large four-door sedan, featuring a long wheelbase, and was manufactured only in the 1941 and 1942 model years. 1941 Cadillac Series 67 During that model year, a total of 4,100 Sixty Special Cadillac models were built for the consumer market. For 1941, Cadillac models manufactured a record 66,130 vehicles. For 1941 Cadillac offered many great accessories for the consumer market. For example, the consumer could order moldings exterior (Hood & body) finished in color rather than chrome. The entire car could be ordered in one color or two-tone combinations as well. The instrument panel, steering column and hand brake lever could be painted a special color for the consumer. A sheepskin mat could be ordered for all body styles and options were available for rear quarter lamps as well as extra radio speakers for that special driver. 1941 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 6 The bodies of the 1941 Cadillac designs had a striking new appearance with many different features which many consumers had admired. The average cost for a 1941 Cadillac model was between $1,435- $ 3,150 for a Series Seventy-Five Imperial Sedan.
