Channel Hopping

A way of watching television in which you keep changing quickly from one channel to another using a remote control.

Playing field: The sitting room

Aim of the game (1)

Complete the Magic Square (in numerical order) in the fastest possible time by hopping from one TV channel to another.

Aim of the game (2)

To annoy as few women as possible

Magic Key

1 = BBC1 2 = BBC2 3 = ITV1 4 = ITV2 5 = Channel 4 6 = Channel 5 7 = Film 4 8 = Sky 2 9 = Dave

Referee (a mother-in-law)

Rules Contestant is shown the magic square and the key. He has 60

seconds to memorise it. Contestant rolls one trouser leg up and is blindfolded. Contestant is led into the room. Once inside the room he must

find his way to the coffee table by hopping round the room and in between the furniture or by jumping over the settee.

He must sit down, pick up the remote control from the coffee table and punch in the correct channel for No.1.

If he succeeds he can attempt to find the correct channel for No. 2 and so on.

If he fails to find the correct channel he must hop once around the settee, sit down and try again.

There’s a time penalty of 10 seconds for every time he lands on a channel showing football.

The contestant who completes the Magic Square in the fastest time is the winner.

In the event of a tie the winner is the one who annoyed the least number of women.

The referee’s decision if final!
