In the history of the Charlotte Bobcats franchise, admittedly not exactly a multi-generational span, the team has been a double-digit favorite just three times.

You can make it four times after Tuesday night when they host the lowly New Jersey Nets. The Bobcats have opened as 11.5 point chalk at the majority of our recommended online sportsbooks while the total is a low number of 185.5.

Since coming into existence in 2004, Charlotte has yet to make the postseason. That's looking like it might change this year. The team has won 10 of its last 12

home games and currently occupies sixth place in the pretty weak Eastern Conference. This is the most points the Bobcats will be favored in any game this season.

New Jersey, meanwhile, will not be going to the postseason. They finished the first half a horrendous 4-48 SU and have lost 15 straight road games. The Nets are

currently on pace to eclipse the all time mark for futility in a NBA regular season (nine wins), currently held by the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers.

The previous three times Charlotte has been favored by double-digits has yieldedmixed results. The first time was in April of 2007 and they lost outright to th

e New York Knicks. In March 2008, they were favored by a franchise record 17 points in a 92-84 win over the Miami Heat (Wade was injured), but obviously did notcover. Finally, they earned the cash as double digit chalk for the first time l

ast March covering a 13-point spot against Sacramento.

Despite averaging just 95.1 PPG (2nd worst in league) and allowing only 94.2 PPG(tied for 2nd best), no team has produced more Overs than have the Bobcats. Tha

t said their two previous games before the break saw an average of just 185.5 points per game and both went Under.

New Jersey is the only team in the league with lower scoring average than Charlotte (89.8 PPG). Their point differential of -11.7 PPG is by far the worst in the

league with only Minnesota (-8.5) within six points of that number. The Nets have just one road win on the year and lost their last eight games before the Break.

One of New Jersey's four wins this season did come at the expense of the Bobcats, 97-91, back in December as three-point home underdogs. Not only that, but it was the Nets' first win all year. They have gone 8-2 SU all-time at Charlotte, but lost here in early November, 79-68, as seven-point dogs.
