HEADLAND TURN SEQUENCETM175 and TM190

Using Headland Turn Sequence (HTS), a sequenceof driver controlled functions or ’steps’ may berecorded and re--played. The following controlfunctionsmay bememorised and controlled by HTS.

• Engine speed changes.

• Raising and lowering the rear three point hitch*.

• Shifting transmission gears up, and/or down.

• Operate Electro--Hydraulic remote valves.

• Disengage and re--engage Engine SpeedManagement (where fitted).

NOTE: *Auto P.T.O. and Auto differential lockfunctions may be operated in conjunction with HTSbut they cannot be included in a programmesequence.

With Headland Turn Sequence enabled, the HTSsymbol (1), Figure 1, will appear in the transmissiongear display. Up to 31 operating steps or functionsmay bememorisedbyHTS, either as one continuousprogramme or as two separate programmes.

1

In record or playback mode, each step isrepresented by a symbol appearing in the LCDpaneladjacent to the gear display i.e. a gear change will beaccompanied by the transmission symbol, a changeto engine speed will be accompanied by the enginesymbol, see Figures 2 and 3. As each step isrecorded or played back, the symbol for that stepwillappear in a frame and the colour will change fromblack to light grey.

Up to seven symbols may be displayed at one time. The upper symbol (2) will showwhether HTS is in therecord or playback mode. If more than sevenfunctions are recorded, the display will automaticallyscroll through the symbols as each step or sequenceof steps is recorded or played back.

Recording a Programme

To start recording the HTS programme, depress andhold the right side of the record/playback switch (1),for three seconds. The HTS symbol, Figure 1, willappear in the upper part of the display adjacent to therecording symbol whichwill start to flash. HTS is nowin record--standby mode.

To commence recording, momentarily depress thestep switch (2). The recording symbol will stopflashingand remain on, confirming the system is nowrecording each HTS step. As each HTS linkedcontrol is operated, a new symbol will appear in thedisplay below the recording symbol.

NOTE: HTS will not record or replay transmissionshifts made in reverse gear.

As more steps are added, new symbols will appearand scroll down the display. See page 3--3 for anexplanation of HTS symbols.

4

When recording, pauses may be inserted into theprogramme by momentarily depressing the stepswitch (2), a pause symbol will appear in the display.Depress the switch again to resume recording. In the pause mode control actions will not bememorised. During playback, the programme willpause at this point, momentarily depress the stepswitch to continue the sequence.

NOTE: Symbols relating to the function in currentuse, either in record or playback mode, will appear ina frame with the colours inversed, (grey on black).

After one HTS sequence has been recorded asecond sequence may now be recorded i.e. for theopposite headland. Depress and hold the step switchfor three seconds to suspend recording and re--enterstandby mode. The recording symbol will start toflash again.

5

On reaching the point where recording of the secondsequence is to commence, depress the step switchagain.

This will generate a new programme and thecorresponding number (1 or 2) will be shown in thedisplay when activating sequence playback.

IMPORTANT: In the record mode, if the tractor isstopped or no controls used for approximately 13minutes, the system will revert to standby.

To store a recorded sequence, depress either side ofthe record/playback switch (1). This will disable HTSand return the system to normal operation.

IMPORTANT:When recording an Electro--Hydraulicremote valve sequence in HTS, it is important toallow sufficient time for the movement of the controllever to be recorded as it passes through eachposition (R, N, L, F or vice versa). Pausing levermovement for approximately 1/4 second will providesufficient time for the step to be recorded accurately.Moving the lever too quickly may interfere with theprogramming sequence causing the implement torespond incorrectly during playback.

6

Playback a Programme

CAUTIONBefore commencing work, it is recommended thatHTS programmes are given a ’dry run’ by carryingout a headland manouvre to ensure all the stepshave been recorded and any timed EHR sequencesreplay correctly.

To select the required programme for playback, depress and hold the left side of the record/playbackswitch, the programme number will appear at the topof the display.

If the suspend/resume function was used duringrecording to create a second sequence, the operatorcan select either sequence by holding down the leftside of the record/playback switch until theprogramme number (1 or 2) appears at the top of thedisplay. Releasing the switch will put the selectedprogramme into playback/standby.

The playback symbol will start to flash confirming thesystem is now in standby mode. When reaching thepoint at which the programme is to commence, depress and hold the step switch (2) forapproximately 1/2 second or until the audible alarmis heard. Sequence playback will start when theswitch is released and the playback symbol willcease to flash and remain on.

IMPORTANT: If the step switch is released tooquickly, playback will not start, depress and hold thestep switch for 1/2 second or until the alarm sounds.

IMPORTANT: If a transmission shift begins the HTSsequence, the original gear selected when therecording was started should be engaged beforestarting HTS playback.

NOTE: In the standby mode, symbols relating to theoperation of Electro--Hydraulic remote valves in theHTS sequence will flash alternately with the numberof the valve.

8When the first HTS step is re--played, thecorresponding symbolwill appear immediatelybelowthe playback symbol in the display. Subsequentsymbols, where programmed, will appear below theone currently in play.

NOTE: Symbols relating to the function in currentuse, either in record or playback mode, will alwaysappear inversed, (grey on black).

Aseach step is completed the corresponding symbolwill be disappear from the display and the next onewill scroll up. In playback, the sequenceof eventswillbe repeated in the same order as recorded.

On completion of a sequence, HTS will enterplayback standby mode (playback symbol flashing).

In playback mode, the programme may be halted bydepressing the step switch (2). The playback andsequence symbolswill begin to flashbut will continueto be displayed. Depress and hold the step switchagain to resume playback. AnyEHR steps in playwillbe terminatedbutmay bemanually completedwhererequired.

NOTE: If pauses were introduced into the sequenceduring recording, playback will automatically stop ateach pause point. To resume the sequence, depressand hold the step switch as above. The next stepwillstart immediately the switch is released. This allowsaccurate re--synchronisation of the sequence withthe current task and provides the opportunity toadjust the timing of individual steps to suit varyingfield conditions.

IMPORTANT: When operating in Auto Field Mode, selecting HTS playback will cause Auto Field Modeto be suspended. AutoFieldmodewill be re--enabledwhen HTS enters playback/standby mode.If Engine Speed Management is engaged whenentering HTS playback mode, ESM will continue tocontrol the engine speed until HTS commands thefirst engine speed change, at this point ESM will bedisabled. The ESM light will remain illuminatedthroughout playback of the HTS sequence. Oncompletion of the HTS playback sequence, theengine speedwill return to that originally set byESM.

NOTE: Transmission shift sequences recorded inthe forward gears will not re--play in reverse. Movingthe shuttle lever from forward to reverse duringplayback will suspend transmission shifts but othersequence steps will continue to play. If theprogramme includes a transmission shift thesequence will stop when this step is reached.Re--engage forward drive and depress/hold the stepswitch (2) to resume the HTS sequence.

NOTE: During playback, operating one or more ofthe HTS linked tractor controls will halt the HTSprogramme. To prevent this from occurring wait fora programme pause before moving the control. If itis known a control is to be moved independent of theHTS sequence, a pause should be inserted at therelevant point when recording that sequence.Depress and hold the step switch again tore--activate the programme sequence after movingthe control.

9

IMPORTANT: During playback, one or more of thefollowing actions will cause HTS to be stopped andall automated functions, including timed EHRsequences, to be terminated:

• Tractor speed drops below 0.5 Km/h (0.3 MPH),or is stationary for more than 10 seconds.

• The operator leaves the seat for more than 2seconds.

• Fender mounted 3--point hitch or P.T.O. controlsare operated.

• Hand throttle is set to idle.

• Operating one or more of the HTS linked tractorcontrols to override the programme.

NOTE: A control is not regarded as overridden byHTS until the sequence reaches the point at whichthe automated operation of that control begins. Afterthis time, the sequence will be halted if the relevantcontrol ismoved. AnyHTScontrolnot included in thesequence may be moved without halting HTSplayback.

On completion of a sequence, or if HTS is haltedduring playback, Electro Hydraulic remote valveswillnot return to float even if the relevant lever is in thefloat position unless:

• The lever was in the float position when the HTSsystem was activated and the last HTScommand step selected the valve float function.

NOTE: The time period for EHR valve steps has amaximum duration of 25 seconds after which a newstep will be created to continue the operation. A newicon will appear in the display.

If HTS is re--started after a pause, the next actionbegins immediately the step switch (2) is released. The operator may therefore select the point at whichthe sequence is to re--start by releasing the switch ata suitable time.

If an EHR sequence is in play and the step switch isused to advance the programme to another timedEHR function of the samevalve, theplay iconand theremote valve iconwill start to flash. On completion ofthe current EHR step in play, the valve iconwill ceaseto flash. Depress and hold the step switch for 1/2second, release to re--commence the programmesequence.

IMPORTANT: If an HTS programme is halted by theoperator leaving the seat for more than 2 seconds, the current engine speed will be maintained until theoperator returns to the seat or the throttle setting ischanged.Always de-activate HTS before leaving thetractor seat.

AUTO P.T.O. CONTROL(where fitted)

The Auto P.T.O. function provides automaticengagement or disengagement of the rear P.T.O.drive when using the EDC raise/lower switch (2).Operating the switch to raise the implement willautomatically disengage P.T.O. drive. Lowering theimplement with the switch will re--engage P.T.O.drive.

The height at which the P.T.O. is engaged ordisengaged can be set using the following method.

IMPORTANT:The tractormust be stationary and theP.T.O. switchedoff before attempting this procedure.

• With the engine running and the P.T.O. switchedoff, operate the lift control to capture the hitch.

11

• Depress and hold the Auto P.T.O. switch for 2seconds. The hitch display will show twoalternating symbols, ’U xx’ and ’D xx’ (where ’xx’represents the height of the hitch).

’U xx’ represents the height at which the P.T.O.will disengage when raising the hitch.’D xx’ shows the point at which P.T.O. drive willre--commence when lowering the hitch.

NOTE: If the programming sequence is paused formore than 10 seconds Auto P.T.O. will bede--activated.

• Raise the hitch to the point where P.T.O. drive isto be disengaged. Momentarily depress the AutoP.T.O. switch, the hitch display will show ’U xx’.Using the hitch control (1) Figure 11, set theheight at which P.T.O. drive is to stop.

Depress the Auto P.T.O. switch again.

• ’D xx’ will appear in the dispaly. Lower the hitchto the position where the P.T.O. drive is tore--commence and depress the P.T.O. switchagain. The display will show ’End’ for twoseconds and then return to the option selectedprior to entering set--up mode.

Providing the tractor is stationary and the P.T.O. isdisengaged, this procedure can be carried out at anytime. The settings will remain in the memory untilre--programmed.

To activate the Auto function, engage the P.T.O. aspreviously described and then depress and hold theswitch (1), for more than one second. The AutoP.T.O. lamp on the switch will illuminate to confirmactivation.

With the 3 point hitch in the lowered position and theP.T.O. engaged, the Auto lamp will remain on.Raising the implement will disconnect P.T.O. driveand cause both P.T.O. and Auto lamps to flash.Lowering the implement will re--engage P.T.O. drive, both lamps will cease to flash and will remainilluminated.

Depressing the Auto P.T.O. switch again willde--activate the function and the Auto lamp willextinguish.

IMPORTANT: If the P.T.O. is operating when theAuto function is de--activated, theP.T.O. will continueto rotate until switched off using the main P.T.O.control.

NOTE: The Auto P.T.O. function is de--activatedevery time the key start is switched off but the currentprogrammed on/off values will be stored in thememory.

12

IMPORTANT: Auto P.T.O. will be de--activatedshould one or more of the following occur:

• The tractor speed is above 0.5 Km/h (0.3 MPH)with the 3 point hitch in the raised position formore than 2 minutes.

• With the 3 point hitch raised, the tractor speedfalls below 0.5 Km/h (0.3 MPH), or the tractor isstationary for more than 10 seconds.

• If one of the external P.T.O. switches areoperated.

• Operating the external hitch control.

IMPORTANT: Operating the external hitch controlwill only de--activate the Auto function, the P.T.O. willcontinue to operate as normal.

• The P.T.O. is switched off using the internalswitch.

REMOTE CONTROL VALVESELECTRO--HYDRAULIC TYPE(where fitted)

Control Levers

The electro-hydraulic remote valves are operated byfinger controlled levers in the right-hand console. Each control lever is coloured to correspond to thecolour on the remote valve. A maximum of fourremote valves may be fitted.

Valve Position(viewed from the rear of the tractor)

1. Control lever I Right--hand outer (Green)2. Control lever II Right--hand inner (Blue)3. Control lever III Left--hand inner (Brown)4. Control lever IIII Left--hand outer (Black)

13

The remote valve control levers have four positions:neutral, extend, retract, and float.

Pull the lever back from the neutral position, (1), tothe “extend” (raise) position, (2). From neutral, pushforward to the “retract” (lower) position, (3). Push thelever fully forward to the float position, (4). Float willpermit the cylinder to extend or retract allowingequipment such as scraper blades to “float” or followthe ground contour.

1

2

3

4

14The “float” position is also used for retracting asingle-acting cylinder and for the OFF position forhydraulic motors.

The extend, (1), neutral, (2), retract, (3), and float,(4), positions are identified by symbols on the decalbehind each control lever.

WARNINGElectro Hydraulic remote valve levers do notautomatically return to neutral from the detentposition (unless in programme mode), or have theability to lock out float. Consequently, ElectroHydraulic valves should not be used to operate frontloaders. 15

Isolator Switch

The remote valveswill not operate unless the systemis energised using the isolator switch (1). Depressthe lower part of the switch to activate the system, press the upper part of the switch to de--activate.When energised, the remote valves will operatewhenever the tractor engine is running.

IMPORTANT:The isolator switch may be used toimmediately stop operation of the rear remotehydraulics by quickly depressing the top of theswitch. The isolator switch will only control theremote valves, it has no effect on three point linkageoperation. 16

SECTION 3 -- FIELD OPERATIONS

3--13

Manual and Programmable Lever Operation

The rocker switch (1) is used to select either manualor programmed operation for each of theelectro--hydraulic remote control valves.

NOTE: If it observed that a remote valve is notresponding correctly to control lever operation, thevalve and lever may require re--calibrating. Followthe procedure shown on page 3--22, tore--synchronise control lever and valve.

Manual Operation

Manual operation is provided primarily for theoperation of continuous flow applications, such ashydraulic motors. To operate the remote valves inmanual mode ensure the timer switch (1) is in the offposition as shown. Inmanual mode, the control lever(2) can be operated in the four positions, neutral, extend, retract and float.

When the control lever is left in the extend, retract orfloat positions it will NOT automatically return to theneutral position and shut off the flow of oil to the rearremotes if the system reaches maximum pressure. The control lever must be MANUALLY returned toneutral. This allows for efficient operation of motorswithout the remote valve inadvertently returning toneutral.

NOTE: For hydralic motor operation it isrecommended that valve number I is used for thispurpose. This valve receives oil flow priority over theother remote valves thereforemaintaininga constantoutput (within system limitations) irrespective of oilflow demand from the other valves.

17

When operating hydraulic motors it is important toalways use the RETRACT position to activate themotor and the FLOAT position to stop the motor.Using the float position to stop the motor allows themotor to come to a gradual stop preventing possibledamage to the motor itself.

IMPORTANT: Never use the neutral position fromthe extend or retract position to stop a hydraulicmotor. Sudden hydraulic lock up of the system maycause extensive damage to the motor.

IMPORTANT:Care must be taken when operating inthe manual mode with remote cylinders. When thecylinder has reached the end of its stroke the controllever must be returned to the neutral positionmanually. Failure to observe this proceedure willoverheat the oil and may lead to failure of hydraulicor driveline components.

Page 18: NEW HOLLAND TM120 TM190 - JustAnswer · 4/26/2009 · supplement to operators manual 604.53.401.00 (82998307) 604.53.401.10 (82998410) new holland tm120 tm130 tm140 tm155 tm175 tm190

SECTION 3 -- FIELD OPERATIONS

3--14

Programmable Operation

Programmable operation is provided primarily foroperation of hydraulic cylinders. This allows theoperator to programme a timed sequence of oil flows(single or double acting) from the tractor to theimplement. At the end of the timed sequence thecontrol lever will automatically return to neutralstopping the flow of oil.

Before commencing a programme sequence, firstensure the cylinder hydraulic hoses are properlyconnected to theappropriate rear remote valve.Startthe tractor engine and ensure the isolator switch is inthe on position. Set the tractor engine at the speedin which the cylinder is to be operated. This isimportant as the programming of the control leversis based on a time interval corresponding to the timeit takes the cylinder rod to extend and retract. Anychange in engine rpmwill have an effect on hydraulicoil flow and therefore the time taken for the cylinderto extend and retract. However, this may becorrected during playback by re--setting the flowcontrol to compensate i.e. if using a slower enginespeed than programmed, increase the oil flow.

To programme the electro-hydraulic remote valves, depress the bottom of rocker switch (1). When theswitch is depressed, the light in the switch will beginto flash. This is an indication that a timed sequencemay now be programmed into the electro-hydrauliccontroller. The light will continue to flash for tenseconds allowing the operator time to begin theprogramming sequence. If a programme is notstarted within this ten second period, the controllerwill not accept any sequence and the remote controllever (2) will remain latched in the current position.Switch off the timer control and switch on again tore--start the timer sequence.

IMPORTANT:When recording an Electro--Hydraulicremote valve sequence in HTS, it is important toallow sufficient time for the movement of the controllever to be recorded as it passes through eachposition (R, N, or L). Pausing lever movement forapproximately 1/4 second will provide suffcient timefor the step to be recorded accurately. Moving thelever too quickly may interfere with the programmingsequence causing the implement to respondincorrectly during playback.

SECTION 3 -- FIELD OPERATIONS

3--15

The control lever timed programme always remainsthe same regardless of oil flow until reprogrammed. Therefore consistent operation is required for thesystem tooperate correctly. Using the correspondingprogramming switch (1) depress the bottom of theswitch so the light begins to flash. While the light isflashing use control lever (2) to extend the cylinder. As soon as the control lever is activated theprogramming light will stay on. Hold the lever until thecylinder is extended to the desired position and thenreturn the lever to the neutral position. When thelever is returned to the neutral position theprogramming light will once again begin to flashindicating that the retract phase of the cycle needs tobe programmed. 19

Next, use control lever (2) to retract the cylinder. Assoon as the control lever is activated theprogramming light will cease to flash and remain on.Hold the lever until the cylinder is retracted to thedesired position and then return the lever to theneutral position. After the second phase has beencompleted the programming light will stay onindicating the programme has been memorised.

The control lever timed operation is now pro-grammed for the extend and retract operation of thecylinder.

Repeat the above sequence to programme theremaining control levers if required.

Programming of the control lever can be performedin either sequence, extend/retract, retract/extend orone sequence only, extend or retract. Theprogramme for the individual control lever (2) willremain the same even when the engine is stoppedand the ignition switch is in the off position, as longas the programming switch (1) remains in theprogramme (on) position as shown. The maximumallowable time limit for any programmed timedoperation is 30 seconds.

When operating in the timed programmed mode, feathering of the hydraulic flow is possible bymovingthe control lever to any position between neutral andthe fully opened position. The timed operationsequence only begins once the control lever hasbeen locked in the fully opened position. Oncompleteting the sequence, the lever will automati-cally return to the neutral position.

If the control lever is moved to the float position notimed programme is possible and the control levermust be returned to neutral manually.

Flow Control Adjustment

Each remote valve has a flow control knob, (1), tometer oil flow. The knob controls flow from 0.4 to 100l/min (0.1 to 26.4 U.S. gpm). Turn the knob so thehigher vertical decal stripe, (2), is visible to increasethe rate of oil flow. Turn the knob so the lower verticaldecal stripe, (3), is visible to decrease the rate of oilflow.

NOTE: The oil flow through remote valve numberonewill always takepriority over theother valves. Forequipment using of more than one remote valve, thehydraulic service with the highest priority should beconnected to valve number one. 20

Recalling and Replaying a Timed Sequence

Providing the timer switch (1), was left in theprogramme (on) position at key--off and key--on, thetimed sequence will be have been stored. Tocommence replay, move the control lever (2) to thefirst operating position. On reaching the end of thetimed sequence, the lever will return to the neutralposition. Throughout the sequence the timerwarninglight will remain illuminated.

Deleteing a Programme

Moving the timer switch to the manual (off) positionwill automatically delete the timedsequence from thememory.

Quick Couplers

Each remote control valve has a pair of 1/2 in.quick-disconnect, female couplers (1) and (2). Thecouplers are of a self--sealing/locking design but willallow remote cylinder hoses to pull free if theimplement should become disconnected from thetractor. The lower coupler (2) of each pair is for thefeed hose, the upper coupler (1) is for the returnhose. The couplers referred to in this picture are forremote control valve No. I.

The covers are color coded black, brown, blue andgreen to correspond to the control levers in the cabconsole. 22

Hinged, spring-loaded dust caps are provided oneach coupler. To connect a remote cylinder, lift thedust cap (1) and insert the feed and/or return hoseinto the coupler, ensuring that it is correctly seated.Ensure that there is sufficient slack in the hose(s) toallow the tractor/implement to turn in either direction.

Actuate the remote valve to supply hydraulicpressure which will complete the hydraulic couplingof the tractor and implement.

To disconnect, grip the hose a short distance fromthe coupler, push the hose forward, into the coupler, then quickly pull on the hose to ‘pop’ the coupler free.

The couplers will accept standard 1/2″ SAE or ISOconnectors. The couplers can be connected ordisconnected under pressure. Disconnect pressureis proportional to system pressure. Increasedsystem pressure will require increased force todisconnect the couplers.

NOTE: The oil flow through remote valve numberonewill always takepriority over theother valves. Forequipment using of more than one remote valve, thehydraulic service with the highest priority should beconnected to valve number one.

Relieving System Pressure

To ease removal and installation of the couplers, relieve the pressure in the system. Securely supportthe implement. Make sure no one will be injured bymoving equipment when relieving pressure in thesystem. Move the control lever to the float positionwith the engine running. This will relieve thepressure. Turn the engine off with the control leverstill in float. After the engine is shut down return thecontrol lever to theneutral position. The couplers cannow be connected or disconnected with minimalpressure and effort.

WARNINGBefore connecting or disconnecting hydraulic hosesat the remote cylinders, relieve the pressure in thecircuit by first starting the engine and then move thecontrol levers fully forward to the “float” position. Then stop the engine. Make sure no one will beinjured by moving equipment when relievingpressure in the system. Before disconnectingcylinders or equipment, make sure the equipment orimplement is supported securely.Never work under equipment supported by ahydraulic device because it may drop if the control isactuated (even with the engine stopped) or in theevent of hose failure, etc. always use a securesupport for equipment which must be serviced whilein the raised position. Make sure that oil containedwithin the remote cylinders is clean and is of thecorrect grade.

Connecting Single-Acting Cylinders

Connect the hose from a single-acting cylinder to thelower coupler on the remote control valve, aspreviously described.

To extend a single-acting cylinder, pull the controllever back to the “extend” position (2).

Manually return the lever to the neutral position tostop the cylinder before it is fully extended or allowthe valve to return to neutral automatically when thecylinder reaches the end of its stroke and timedoperation (see page 3--14).

To retract a single-acting cylinder, move the leverfully forward to the “float” position (4).

NOTE: In single acting timer mode the remote leverwill not lock in the retract position (3) but willautomatically return to the neutral position.

IMPORTANT: Always use the “float” position tolower a single-acting cylinder. The “retract” positionis for double-acting cylinders only.

Connecting Double-Acting Cylinders

Connect the feed hose from a double-acting cylinderto the lower coupler on the remote control valve andthe return hose to the upper coupler, as previouslydescribed. To extend a double-acting cylinder, pullthe control lever back to the “extend” position (2).

To retract a double-acting cylinder, push the controllever forward past neutral to the “retract” position (3).Further forward movement of the lever will select“float” (4) which will allow the cylinder to extend orretract freely. This feature is very helpful whencarrying out work with equipment such as scraperblades and loaders.

NOTE: To prevent cylinders creeping under load, always connect the hose from the load supportingside of the cylinder to the lower coupler.

Operating Continuous Flow HydraulicEquipment

Continuous flow hydraulic equipment (e.g., hydraulicmotors) should be connected to the 1st remotecontrol valve couplers with the pressure hoseconnected to the right retract coupler and the returnhose connected to the low pressure return circuit(see Operators Manual, Section 3 ’Return Oil Line’).

The flow control should be adjusted to regulate themotor speed. If the flow control is open too far, the3-point hitch and other remote valves will slow downor stop. Using the flow control this way will ensurethat the hydraulic system will only supply the oilrequired by the motor.

With the remote control valve lever fully forward inthe “float” (4) position, the motor will be stationary. The hydraulic motor will operate if the lever is pulledback to the “retract” (3) position. To stop the motor, move the lever from the retract position to the floatposition. In the float position the motor will be able tostop slowly, which will not damage the motor.

IMPORTANT: When operating continuous flowequipment, the remote control valve lever must notbe moved rearward to the neutral or raise positionsas damage to the equipment may result.

Observe the following to further protect the tractorand equipment.

• Do not open any bypass valve in the equipmentor motor. Use the flow control to regulate the rateof flow or speed of the motor.

• Do not hold the remote control valve lever tooperate the equipment.

• To ensure optimum hydraulic oil cooling, operatecontinuous flow equipment at the highest flowsetting (by use of the flow control) and lowestengine speed that will give the required machineperformance and speed.

Operating Several Remote ValvesSimultaneously or Remote Valves and 3--PointLift Simultaneously

If operating two or more remote control valvessimultaneously or remote valves and 3--point lift, allthe flow control valves (1), should be adjusted toprovide a partial flow, as previously described. If notso adjusted, all the available flow may be directed tothe full flow circuit when the pressure in that circuit isless than that of the other circuits in use.

NOTE: The oil flow through remote valve numberonewill always takepriority over theother valves. Forequipment using of more than one remote valve, thehydraulic service with the highest priority should beconnected to valve number one.

26

Bleeding Remote Cylinders

When connecting a cylinder with trapped air, i.e., anew cylinder, one that has been out of service or onethat has had the hoses disconnected, it will benecessary to bleed the cylinder to remove the air.

With thehoses connected to the remote control valvecouplers at the rear of the tractor, position thecylinder with the hose end uppermost and extendand retract the cylinder sevenor eight times using theremote control valve operating lever.

Check the rear axle oil level before and afteroperating a remote cylinder.

OPERATION 1RE--CALIBRATING ELECTRONIC REMOTEVALVE LEVERS

Should one of the control levers lose synchronisationwith the remote valve itself, an error code will appearin lower central area of the instrument panel display. The code displayed will show R1 (or R2, R3 or R4)identifying the valve requiring re--calibration. Tore--synchronise lever and valve, carry out thefollowing procedure.

NOTE: The appearance of any other numberfollowing the letter ’R’ will require the use ofspecialised equipment to investigate. Consult yourauthorised dealer.

27

With the tractor engine stopped and the implementin a safe position, turn the key start to position (4) anddepress the timer switch (1) Figure 29, on the valveto be re--calibrated. The timer light on the switch willilluminate and the figure 1 will replace the error codein the instrument panel display.

After a short delay the light will extinguish and afigure 2 will appear in the instrument display.

Set the flow control (3) Figure 29, to the maximumflow position.

Move the remote valve lever (2) to the full raiseposition, the timer light will illuminate.

After a short delay the light will go off and the figure3 will appear in the display.

28

NOTE: If the flow control is not set to the correctposition, the control lever will automatically return toneutral and error code U1 (or U2, U3 or U4) willappear in the display. Switch off the key start andrepeat the procedure.

Set the flow control to the minimum flow position.

Move the lever (2) to the lower position, the timer lightwill illuminate again.

After a short delay the light will go off and the figure4 will appear in the display.

When the light goes out move the remote valve leverto the float position.

After a short delay the remote valve lever willautomatically return to the neutral position and thetimer light will commence to flash.

At this point the instrument display will either clear orwill show the next valve to be calibrated.

When the calibration sequencehas beencompleted, turn the key start to the off position (2), to memorisethe settings.
