If you would like to refresh the color during the Kerasilk® Keratin smoothing service, we recommend TOPCHIC®, NECTAYA®, COLORANCE® COVER PLUS/MAXREDS, highlighting, OR NEW BLONDE color products. Please see the instructions for use of the color product choice.

Finalize the service with the Kerasilk® Sealing Serum.Note; you may apply COLORANCE® CORE and EXPRESS TONING two weeks after you have completed a Kerasilk® Keratin smoothing service. Elumen is not recommended with Kerasilk® Keratin smoothing service.

When the hair is treated with a high temperature (e.g. flat iron) a color shift may occur. A test section may be performed at the nape. If needed, reduce the temperature of the iron accordingly. Do not go below 350 degrees °F / 180 degrees °C.

In order to tame damaged or fine hair use the paddle brush. To straighten healthy, coarse or curly hair use the round brush.

If your client’s hair is diverse, it is possible to work with various recipes, e. g. the regrowth could be treated with Shape Medium/Smooth Medium and the mid-lengths and ends with Shape Medium/Smooth Intense.

Make sure to section the hair in less than a 1/4 in. (0.5 cm). You want to make sure that you can see through your section.

Choose the adequate Kerasilk® Shampoo according to the needs of your client’s hair. Use the Kerasilk® Rich Keratin Care Shampoo for unmanageable/wavy hair and the Ultra Rich Keratin Care Shampoo for extremely unmanageable/curly hair.

Perform your Kerasilk® Keratin smoothing service according to the five steps of the GOLDWELL® Service Cycle for beautiful lasting results, client satisfaction and increased salon services.

STEP 1: CONSULTATION

• Start with customized questions to draw the client’s attention to the Kerasilk® Keratin smoothing service.

• Take your time. Listen carefully.

• Use the Kerasilk® Keratin smoothing service Consultation Tool.

• Analyze the hair structure. Determine the desired shaping and smoothing effect.

STEP 2: PREPARATION

• Define, measure and mix the customized individual Kerasilk® Keratin formula.

• Shampoo with Kerasilk® Purifying Shampoo.

• Blow dry with hands or paddle brush to approx. 80 % dry.

STEP 3: APPLICATION

• Ensure clean sectioning to less than 1/4 in. (0.5cm)

• After 15 min. blow-dry with paddle or round brush (depending on desired end result.)

• Section again. Start flat ironing at the nape with the iron. (See opposite page for temperature)

STEP 4: POST-CARE & STYLING

• Shampoo with the Kerasilk® Rich or Ultra Rich Keratin Care

• Seal with Kerasilk® Sealing Serum.
