( I ) WHAT MAKES CURD SET?

You will need- 400 ml milk, 4-5 teaspoon curd, four small clean jars with lids labeled A,B,C and D.

Procedure- Pour about 100 ml of lukewarm boiled milk into each jar. Add a teaspoon of fresh curd

in jar A. Heat a small quantity of the curd strongly and add it to jar B. Do not add any curd in jar C.

Add a tablespoon of curd to jar D and place it in the refrigerator. Place jars A,B and C in a warm

place. Observe the jars after 4-5 hours and answer these questions.

a. What do you see in jars A,B and C?

b. Why did the milk in jars B and C not set into curd?

c. What happened in jar D? Can you say why?
