Normal course length takes 6 months Example # 1 - FAA Minimums: • 40 Hours Flight Time • 40 Hours Ground & Flight Instruction w/ a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Pay-as-you-Go Total = $8,200 Cessna 172 or Cherokee 180: $145 per hour CFI: $60 per hour OR Pre-Pay Rate Total = $7,800 $3,000 payments required as you train (cash or check) Cessna 172 or Cherokee 180: $140 per hour CFI: $55 per hour Example #2 - Realistic Goal: • 60 Hours Flight Time • 80 Hours Ground & Flight Instruction w/ a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Pay-as-you-Go Total = $13,500 Cessna 172 or Cherokee 180: $145 per hour CFI: $60 per hour OR Pre-Pay Rate Total = $12,800 $3,000 payments required as you train (cash or check) Cessna 172 or Cherokee 180: $140 per hour CFI: $55 per hour (National average for private pilot certification is approximately 65 hours flight time) • FAA Course Minimum hours required is 40 flight hours. • These packages do not guarantee your private pilot certification as it depends on individual proficiency. • FAA exams and renters insurance are not included in package pricing. • Book package recommended for this course is $150. • Rates subject to change at any time due to changing fuel and maintenance costs.
