NEVER TOO OLD TO BELIEVE IN FAIRY TALE When you hear a fairy tale, you imagine a child in his bed, waiting quietly for his mother to start reading a bed time story...My mother used to read me Harap Alb by Ion Creanga and her sweet voice always took me on a magical land with fairies and prince charming. Now I grew up but I’m not ashamed to admit that I still love fairy tales. So, when I heard that the local drama society put on a play based on my favourite children’s story, I had to go. To be sincere I didn’t even get it a chance.I believe that the most appropriate way to understand it’s subject it by reading the book and no drama could share the images and sentiments the narator wanted to exprese. So there I was, in the first night, in the audience. Since the curtains pulled up to the end, in the auditorium there was an amazing silence; everybody was absorbed, with the eyes straight to the scene. The finale was absolutly gripping:the audience stood up and applauded with excitement. Children loved it and amazingly, parents liked it too. The script was very good: it wasn’t focused on characters, they tried to focus on the main idea, the author’s thoughts and feelings. The costumes were also great,it suceeded in presenting the 18th century by set and costumes. Therefore ,I underestimated it!The actors made a good job and the director knew how to make the play succesful and appealing to all age.The story was so beautiful told, the personages, the set, all those made adults wish come back at the child’s age. In conclusion,we should never stop dreaming or believe in fairy tales and the most important thing:to not forget to keepy our heart young!
