TAKE A VIRTUAL TOUR OF NETWORK AVIATION’S B747-400F AIRCRAFTWe identified an exciting opportunity in the industry to give our customers and clients an in depth look of how a Network Airline Management Boeing 747 freighter aircraft looks from the inside.

In partnership with Mike Rivett from Fotomotion, an incredibly detailed 360° internal scan of the aircraft was captured with highly specialist cameras which allows us to take a view like very few have seen before!

This interactive virtual tour includes a full length view of the main deck on one of our B747F aircraft and clearly highlights the different cargo positions such as A1, Q6 and all the Q7 positions as well as the main cargo door and roller bed facility.

This allows those who haven’t stepped foot inside a

freighter aircraft an intricate look of how and where cargo is loaded and positioned on our aircraft.

Various time lapse videos demonstrate how precise and calculated it is to load large and heavy pieces of cargo on board. The virtual tour also includes a look at the upper deck including an expansive view of the flight deck as well as the crew rest area.

As part of our B747F virtual tour project, photographer Mike Rivett from Fotomotion captured some superb new images of our aircraft while they were stationed at our European hub in Liege (LGG).

This has coincided with upgrading as many machines as possible onto a super-fast, solid state drive to boost performance.

During the summer, NAG achieved Cyber Essentials certification for a second year running and the long-awaited new version of Sage for Accounts and Finance was finally put into production in September.

The drive towards running 100% cloud-based systems continues with more areas of the company deploying Microsoft’s SharePoint and Dynamics applications to replace old, out-of-date programmes and software.

As we come into aviation’s busiest time of year, we’ll also see Mr Cyber Criminal get busy with more phishing attacks and virus riddled spam emails. The highly important message of vigilance throughout the entire industry remains the same – if you are ever unsure, report any suspect emails or web pages to your local IT resource.

In 2019, so far, NAS IT has closed 1,402 requests for technical support and counting!

News in Short

Network Aviation Group Strengthens Relationship with Avianca in North America

Since Etihad Cargo announced their new strategy in 2018 to become a more ‘digital airline’ they continue to push and drive towards a paperless supply chain, to boost their sustainability as well as operational efficiencies.

of 2019 to promote and actively drive the roll-out of e-AWB across their network. Starting at a lowly 16% penetration in the first quarter of 2019 to somewhere near 50% e-AWB penetration at the end of August, is a significant step in the right direction.

During the next stage, Etihad Cargo will be restructuring their current charge model for paper-based transactions to support the e-AWB initiative. After careful review and consultation with customer focus groups, Etihad Cargo will be introducing a USD 15.00 (or its equivalent

in local currency) charge for all non-e-AWB shipments effective 15th October 2019. This charge will only apply to conventional paper AWB tendered to Etihad Cargo at any e-AWB enabled station.

To ensure that all Etihad customers have the required tools to enable their own processes to become paperless, Etihad Cargo has invested in developing an industry leading technology infrastructure and online portal, which will provide all partners and customers with the necessary method to send e-AWB compliant shipments from 15th October via their website: www.etihadcargo.com

For further information on the rollout of e-AWBs for our customers here in the UK, get in touch with our teams in LHR or MAN who will be happy to help.

The overall feedback that has been received has been empowering and enabled the airline since the beginning of 2019 to promote and actively drive the roll-out of e-AWB across their network.
