The haphazard siloed IT Infrastructures thatdominates today’s data centers increasescomplexity while making it difficult to meet thedemands of the business for rapid applicationdeployment, increased reliability, seamlessscalability, and managed costs. This complexityreduces the IT team’s ability to be dynamic, responsive, and innovative, ultimately wideningthe gap between them, the user community, andthe rest of the business or organization.
To meet these challenges, IT infrastructure teamsare moving towards a new model for deliveringIT services from a consolidated, multitenantshared computing platform. This new model fordelivering IT as a service is commonly referredto as a Cloud, or “Infrastructure as a Service(IaaS)”. No matter what we call it, this architecturerequires innovations in the compute, network, andstorage layers of the data center.
The NetApp-Cisco FlexPod architecture leveragesnext-generation Cisco Unified Computing servers,Cisco Unified Fabric networking, NetApp unifiedstorage and virtualization technologies, and best-of-breed virtualization and management platformsto provide a integrated, pretested, scalable, secure multitenant architecture for a Cloud IaaSsolution.
In this workshop, you will learn about the next-generation technologies underlying the FlexPodarchitecture and how the FlexPod is scaled, provisioned, and managed as a whole. Ultimately, the goal of this workshop is to help you find outhow FlexPod can help you accelerate your visionfor an agile IT infrastructure as part of apragmatic and successful cloud strategy.
Learning Objectives
After you complete this course, you will be able to:
• Explain the rapid application provisioning, infrastructure agility, business impact and reduced cost benefits of an architecturally validated/ integrated shared compute platform.• Contrast architectural differences in the server, network and storage components of a FlexPod to traditional technologies.• Review multitenancy, scalability and management capabilities• Explore FlexPod management consoles though a basic provisioning process flow
Recommended Prerequisites
You will gain the most from this workshop if you arefamiliar with basic Data Center network architecture, have a fundamental knowledge of x86 servers andserver virtualization, and familiarity of storage areanetworking concepts.
Who Should Attend
This workshop is solutions-oriented training that isdesigned for End User Technical Decision Makers andSolution Architects who are responsible for developingdata center solutions that span compute, network, and storage IT infrastructure.
Get Your Hands On The Wheel
This workshop will include hands-on time in ademonstration lab with a FlexPod solution. The labswill allow you to see the basic configuration, management, provisioning, fault-tolerance and serviceassurance features of a FlexPod architecture.
