The Aquity meter features ProRead ™

(ARB® VI) absolute encoder technology, themost reliable and accurate readingtechnology available. Unlike manual meterreading (which is time-consuming andhighly susceptible to human error) or remotereading via pulser technology (which can beinconsistent and vulnerable to residenttampering), encoder technology provides anexact electronic reading of odometernumber wheel position. With ProRead, youcan even measure water consumption atone gallon increments, compared to othersthat measure at the ten gallon standard.This precise system virtually eliminates thepossibility of errors or underbilling, ensuring both resident and owner ofefficient and trustworthy water consumption measurement.

RELIABLE, INTEGRATED READING TECHNOLOGYProRead provides real-time, direct reading viaa receptacle or MIU (meter interface unit)from locations up to 500 feet away. Plus, theProRead absolute encoder allows fullprogrammability of the register for theultimate in flexibility – up to a 10-digit IDnumber, 3 user characters, 6-digit meterreading down to 5 gallon increments, andmeter networking. ProRead (ARB VI) absoluteencoder technology is the first step toward atotally automated meter system for greaterefficiencies. The encoder provides error-freeremote electronic reading capability withoutthe need for batteries.

This quiet meter doesn’t even requirebatteries, reducing the number of servicecalls. CONSTRUCTIONThe Aquity meter consists of three majorassemblies: ProRead absolute encoderregister, a cast bronze maincase madefrom a no-lead high copper alloy, and anutating disc measuring chamber.

For reading convenience, the registercan be mounted in any of four positionson the meter. The corrosion-resistantmaincase will withstand most serviceconditions, internal water pressure,rough handling and in-line piping stress.For frost protection, synthetic polymer orcast iron bottom caps are available.

The innovative floating chamber designof the nutating disc measuring element

protects the chamber from frost damagewhile the unique chamber seal extendsthe low flow accuracy by sealing thechamber outlet port to the maincaseoutlet port. The nutating disk measuringelement utilizes corrosion-resistantmaterial throughout and a thrust roller tominimize wear.

GUARANTEED SYSTEMS COMPATIBILITYAll Aquity water meters are guaranteedadaptable to Neptune meter readingsystems without removing the meterfrom service.
