Serial number decodingThe scheme for serial numbers is (Year)(Month)(last 6 digits of the MAC address). For example,604578F3F was built during April 2006 and the last six digits of the MAC are 57-8F-3F. Neoware normallylooks up warranty entitlement in their SNAP database; however, the you can also estimate this bydetermining the manufacture date and adding 3 months channel/distribution time.
Decoding Neoware legacy part numbersThe following information indicates how to decode a Neoware part number.
Neoware part numbers use the following format:
The Part Number is in aa-aa-aa-aaa format. The final triplet aaa? is not included unless thereare specific hardware options or differences.
The model numbers are in aa### format.

BL-03-KD corresponds to an E100 with a P640 motherboard running a standard Windows XP image, 512MB of Flash memory, and 256 MB of RAM. Customized units or "specials" will have letters A-Z in the OSdesignation (for example, BL-A3-KD).
Model number DC-03-KE (Bcom number DC). The DC indicates that this is an E90 unit with the newer V4hardware. The 03 indicates the unit is running Windows XPe. The KE indicates the unit has 512 MB offlash and 512 MB of RAM.

The Bcom number is the easiest way to quickly determine a product. The Bcom number is also the mostreliable because the it will always appear on the certification label of the product, and the certificationlabel is a required product marking. Many products will also include the Part Number sticker, but thatsticker is not required.
