DESIGN PROGRAMME : The programme was to design the home for senior citizens which accompanies residential block, meditation hall, recreational centre, staff and guest house.
SITE : The site is situated below the vetal tekadi in Pune within the core city approach and not too isolated for the city.
DESIGN APPROACH : An aim was to design a living that will help in improving all senior citizens emotional, mental and physical conditions. The main objective was to create interaction between nature and people. A place for aged to explore his spirituality, creativity and identity by serving the society. Also to bring in the reflection of a culture which is to be preserved for future.

CONNECTIVITY OF BLOCKS
The planning has been done in such a way that it gives pedestrians direction to follow. Residential block has been segregated with activity area as there should not be much walkable distance for senior citizens. The connectivity between spaces is done by ramps. Meditation is being placed at the core centre of the site.

Client – Maat Pitah Gaudham Trust Site Area – 7 acre Total built up area – 2,30,000 sq.feet The temple complex is based on the concept of devoting cows and parents. The complex is designed into three parts – temple area, utility building and gau van + gau shala. It is a vehicle free site for visitors having different entries and separate pathways for cows and people. Bio-gas plants, rain water harvesting, sewage treatment plants, barrier free architecture are considered while designing. Locally available materials are considered to be taken into use.

The site is at Sinhgad road, Pune. The shop is 180 sqft. The café theme is reflected in ceiling, so the use of track lights were done to cast the shadow of mugs on wall. The mirror on opposite wall allows the area to look more larger and increases the volume of the shop.
