Dear Friends,
It is with deep gratitude that we thank all of you for your generous support to NICE.
What started off as a dream 11 years back has now taken concrete shape and providing quality education to
140 boys and 37 girl children. We have also constructed a quarters to accommodate 23 staff members
(teaching and non-teaching). Our students have repaid the faith by achieving 100% pass percentage in the
10th standard examinations for four consecutive years. Four of them have been selected by the Sri Satya Sai
University, Bangalore for B.Sc. Honors degree and all others are pursuing their higher studies elsewhere.
Many of them continue to stay on the NICE campus and mentor the younger children. We are also
supporting those children who wanted to pursue jobs by imparting life skills. On the academic front,
Butterfly Edufields founder Sri Sharathchandra with his staff has been giving key inputs. On the financial
front, NATCO Trust, Asha, Microsoft, Your Inner Soul, NTT Data, NetEnrich, Samidha Group, TANA
Foundation and Helping Indians have been generous with their support. On the spiritual front, Nachiket
Tapovan, Swamy Nachiketananda Puri and Mata Sivanandamai are inculcating human values and giving
guidance on staying healthy through Yoga. Asha Hyderabad volunteer Mr. Giri Kolanupaka has conducted
sessions on the importance of good human values for the teachers.
Donor support has increased from Rs 2 lakhs (during 2002-03) to Rs 85.5 lakhs (during 2012-13). We are
grateful for the voluntary contributions of many people: Giri Kolanupaka (website of NICE), Mr K. Jeevan
Babu and Mr G. Sambasiva Rao (who help with accounts finalization within a week of the financial year
end), to name a few. Through this, we have been able to keep our organization’s administrative expenses
extremely low (less than 3%). We are also not taking any funds from the Govt of India or the State Govt. To
date, through the past 11 years, we have been running the organization without accepting a single rupee as
salary. A lot of people have come forward to extend support to my family, and for our children’s education.
I would like to specifically thank Seetha Murthy and Dhanunjaya (Director of Silver Oaks School), Mr.
Abhilash Nama (USA), M. Satish (UK), Dilip Kumar, Samidha Group and their families who have been
helping me on a personal front. Our special thanks to Dr. Sandeep Pandey, Dr. Srikanth Voorakaranam, Mr.
Vinay and Ms. Annapurna, Embedded Infotech, Mr. B.V.Subbarao, IDPL 91 batch, Vidya Mitra Mandali

Any lasting and tangible impact requires a determined and persistent collective effort from a number of
people. I am happy that all of us together have demonstrated what is possible through such action at NICE.
Thanks to this, hundreds of children are well on their way to achieving their dreams in life.

About the School

The institutional growth that NICE has witnessed over the past 11
years on a number of fronts simultaneously is quite uncommon.
Each year has seen growth in infrastructure, number of students,
number of teaching and support staff, funds raised and the number
of donors. All this while maintaining a 100% pass percentages for
class X. This has been possible because of the effort put in by a lot
of people from our organization, and support from all the donors
and well-wishers. People visit our school from all over India and
abroad to learn and share. Their positive feedback gives us
confidence that we are on the right track.
As a Director, I also saw that it is not just education facilities that
are lacking in rural areas, but there is widespread poverty and lack
of access to healthcare. So, we are planning on running health
camps and setting up a small primary health center with good
doctors to provide free medicine and service to the people in our
village on a periodic basis. Awareness camps for HIV/AIDS and
eye camps were also part of our activities. We have started drinking
water camps in summer and created awareness among the children
about the importance of tree plantation, and agriculture. The
children have planted trees across the road leading to the village.
We provided free stationary (2500 books and other material) to 300
children studying in other schools.
We have been involved with the children in every aspect of life, not
only with respect to their education but also healthcare, hygiene, and
environment consciousness. We have invited many people to the
school to impart good human values and inspire the children. Most of
the visitors have seen our activities and appreciated the quality of
education, and the discipline.
Since the students of our school are from difficult backgrounds (poor,
orphan and rural), we have to struggle a lot to make them comfortable
with academics. Our teaching and non-teaching staff members are very
dedicated and take care of our children with a good heart. Our
philosophy is to impart education not formally like any other school,
but to stress on good relationships and being kind to everyone. We
also concentrate on life skills and communication skills. Satya Sai
university has accepted several of our children for higher studies which
consider an achievement. Our core value is also that all are equal in our
society. There is no discrimination with respect to caste or religion and
we celebrate festivals of all religions. Finally each and every teacher
here at NICE thinks of this as an opportunity for contributing to our
society by creating good citizens with human values.

school have passed the examinations for 4 consecutive years. We heartily thank all the teachers and the

They visited NICE on 14th
Feb 2013 and saw the both boys and girls campuses. They admired the
discipline of the children, and the hygienic conditions maintained. They were of the opinion that such
an atmosphere will definitely contribute to the physical and mental health of the children and prepare
them well for their studies and career.

I visited the school about 5 years ago and this year I got to visit again and inaugurate the new campus
for girl children. There has been tremendous growth and it a significant achievement to provide such
good infrastructure in such a poor and remote village with a library, computer lab with internet,
physics and chemistry labs on par with any other well-to-do school.

Mr. Changavalli visited the NICE school and was very impressed and conveyed his observations to all
the board members and staff of SBH.

They visited the school, saw the library, and the labs and were very impressed. They immediately

I will continue to support NICE by providing training to children in Mathematics and Sciences. Our
team visits the school on a monthly basis and prepares the children for competitive examinations. I
hope to continue this association for a long time as I feel that the organization is humble and
transparent. My colleagues Mr. G.V. Subrahmaniam, Krishnaveni, and Phani have been contributing
Rs. 55,000 for the cause with free tuition classes conducted for nearly 20 days.
Anupama Dammalapati, USA:
She visited the school, and enjoyed talking and spending time with the children. She took the children
on a trip to Nagarjunasagar dam and bore the cost for the entire trip (Rs. 55,000). The children learnt a
lot from the outing and also had a great time.

Asha has been associated with NICE since its inception. It has been fantastic to see the growth of the
school over the years and the impact it has had on the lives of so many children. The site visits

Our Special Thanks to…
NATCO Pharma Ltd
Chairman, Managing Director, V.C. Nannapaneni visited our school with his team on the birth day of
Goddess Saraswati and inaugurated the class rooms in the Girls campus. The NATCO team distributed
sweets and provided lunch to all the children and also generously provided uniforms for the staff. Mr.
Rajeev and Swati, CEO of NATCO Pharma have been major contributors (20 Lakhs) for the girls campus
building. They could see that their donation has been effectively utilized with a very big campus for girls
serving the residential needs as well as housing the school. They have also been donating free medicines
to the organization whenever there is a need. Rajeev has, in particular, donated 5 lakhs to NICE. We are
very much thankful to entire NATCO Trust.
Microsoft India Ltd. Hyderabad
Anuthara and Partha visited NICE school last year, conveyed their positive impressions about NICE to
their employees. Several others like Devidas Joshi, Pavan Kumar Jayavarapu, Malampati Madhavi also
promoted NICE to their other team members. Based on this, we have received more than Rs. 12 lakhs
through CAF. We are not aware of the names of all the individual employee names who have contributed,
but would like to thank everyone who contributed for our organization and helping our school grow from
the bottom of our heart.
Charities Aid Foundation, New Delhi
We are thankful to Charities Aid Foundation, in particular Mr. Sanjeev Kumar and team, for promptly
routing all the contributions from Microsoft to NICE and other organizations such as ours. We realize this
is a tough task and deeply appreciate their kindness towards us. It has been one of the key enablers for our
organization to achieve the growth we have.
Samidha Group
The children of Mr. Purnachandra Rao, Secretary, NICE were supported by Samidha Group’s
contribution. We are thankful to Mr. Nagesh, and Satish, who started Samidha group. From their
inception, they have contributed to NICE and helped in the development of our organization. They have
also been doing lot of service to the other needy students to pursue higher studies. They have promised to
support NICE on a continual basis. We thank them for their commitment to society and NICE. Rs. 72,000
in contributions have been received from Samidha Group this year.
Net Enrich Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Under their CSR activities, Net Enrich Technologies have been supporting activities of several NGOs.
Mr. C. Jagannath Raju, C.E.O is proactive in the company’s CSR activities and encourages employees to
involve actively with NICE and other organizations. Very special thanks to Sunitha (HR), Aravind Kumar
(Finance), and P.V.S.N. Raju, who have spread the awareness about NICE in their entire organization and
helped generate support for us. Rs. 1.5 lakhs have been received from Net Enrich.
Butterfly Edu Fields Ltd.
The Butterfly Edu Fields team take classes for lower classes that improve their foundation in Maths and
Sciences. They have not charged any money for this training for the last 5 years. The founder of the
organization, Mr. Sharath Chandra has informed about NICE to so many people. Their trainers, Mr. G.V.
Subrahmaniam and Krishnaveni donated Rs. 55,000 towards NICE.
Your Inner Soul Inc, USA
Dr. Yalamanchili Vani from Your Inner Soul visited NICE and spread awareness about NICE among her
colleagues and friends who conducted fund raising events in USA to support NICE. She has donated Rs.
5 lakhs to cover the entire expenditure (educational and living) for the girl children. She has also
promised to contribute in future for the development of the institution. We express our special thanks to
Dr. Yalamanchili Vani, Dr. Yalamanchili Prasanna Lakshmi and Murali.
S.B.H Hyderabad
Director and Board member of SBH, Venkat Changavalli visited NICE School, and spontaneously
donated 1.05 lakhs. He conveyed the positive impressions from his visit to his colleagues, staff and the
CSR group. In response, they immediately made a donation of another 2 lakhs to NICE. He also spread
the message about NICE among his friends and relatives and they have also been contributing for this
cause.
Helping Indians
Helping Indians have been contributing Rs. 1.1 lakhs for the last 6 years. Mr. Gopal Gundam has
personally donated 2.55 lakhs and informed his friends Mr. Ranga Reddy and other team members about
the developments on the staff quarters. Gopal Gundam and his team members at Helping Indians have
been supporting different projects in India. Their objective is to remove poverty and the upliftment of
rural poor through education. They have committed financial support for having the staff quarters built
and ready by June 30th
2013.
IDPL 91 Batch
G. Saritha, who belongs to Hyderabad and currently working in USA, has been supporting NICE for the
past four years. Similar to last year, she has raised Rs. 1.25 lakhs for NICE along with her friends and
school mates, specifically for development of the girl’s campus. After assessing the development of the
organization through the website and communications with Mr. Purnachandra Rao, she has pledged to
continue her support for the cause. She has also promised to conduct online classes for students of NICE.
Asha Hyderabad
Asha Hyderabad chapter has been associated with NICE for almost 10 years. Mr. Purnachandra Rao is
also one of the founders of Hyderabad chapter of Asha. NICE is one of the few projects that have
sustained such a growth over this period under difficult circumstances. Dr. Srikanth Voorakaranam, Giri
Kolanupaka, Vijay and other volunteers of Asha Hyderabad have been visiting NICE regularly. Based on
their site visit reports, Asha has contributed 3 lakhs this year for the development of the school (girls and
boys). Asha Hyderabad hopes to continue its involvement with NICE and be part of the endeavor to
provide quality education and care for underprivileged children.
TANA Foundation, USA
Mr. Dilip Kumar visited Mr. Purnachandra Rao’s residence and went over the development and growth of
NICE. TANA has provided support of $2000 to NICE for this year. Mr. Dilip also made a personal
contribution of Rs. 6000 towards Purnachandra Rao’s personal life and education expenses of his
children. He promised to donate every time there is such a need. He has been spreading the message
about NICE to other TANA members.
Silver Oaks School, Hyderabad
Mr. Dhanunjay, Director and Ms. Seetha Murthy, Principal Silver Oaks School, have been providing free
education in their school to Mr. Purnachandra Rao’s children for the last seven years. They also promote
NICE organization’s activities to a lot of people. Under their CSR activity they support a lot of other
NGOs like RDF and SOS children village. They help these NGOs financially and also give training to
village/rural school children in communication skills, and other life skills.
Nannapaneni Neeraja, Ram Babu Kavuri, USA
After going through the website of NICE and the Idle Brain magazine interview and Maa TV Program
profiling NICE, they have contributed the first salary from their job to the children of NICE. This
donation was worth Rs. 2 lakhs.
N.T.T. Data, Hyderabad
They have been donating to NICE for the last 6 years and have contributed Rs 1.8 lakhs this year. The
team from NTT Data visited NICE School and was impressed with what it saw. They have an active
corporate social responsibility program and have been contributing in a similar fashion to a number of
other NGOs as well.

Founder Mr. M.V. Krishna Reddy has donated Rs. 1.8 Lakhs towards NICE. He also supports a number

Sarma, R. Appa Rao and Ravi Teja visited NICE on January 12, 2013. They were extremely happy to see
a school of such quality come up in a rural setting. They also felt inspired to do something along similar
lines in their own village

The trust has been a constant supporter of NICE for the past many years. They have visited NICE and
also referred the organization to a number of other people.
Sitaram Jindal Foundation, New Delhi
The foundation has instituted several awards to support the work of individuals and organizations doing
exemplary work in the social arena. They have very graciously considered Mr. Purnachandra Rao’s
application and decided on providing a yearly grant to support the work of NICE. For the year 2012-13,
they have released a grant of Rs. 20,000.
SVS Projects Pvt Ltd
Mr. B.V.Subba Rao, Managing director, is regularly involved with NICE and celebrates important family
occasions at the school with the children. He has contributed Rs. 50,000 towards NICE and has been
helping other social activists as well.
C.Sharad Krishna and Lavu Srinivasa Rao, USA
Mr. Krishna and Mr. Srinivasa Rao has been supporting NICE for the past 5 years, contributing funds to
the tune of Rs. 1 Lakh to NICE. They also celebrated the birthdays of their family members at the school
and share the joyous occasions with children of NICE. He has been advocating the cause of NICE among
his friends and contacts in the USA.

Mr. K. Srinivasa Rao has been contributing to NICE from Day 1 and also visited the school several times.
He takes a keen interest in CSR and promotes it among other employees of his organization. He started
numerous social programs in his village, that provide education and healthcare for poor people.
