Networkable Projectors certified for Windows Vista®

The NeC projectors NP1150/NP2150/NP3150 and NP3151W are Windows Vista® certified projectors and therefore allow an easy access into aW-LAN system with a Plug&Play connection. Windows Vista® automatically detects the NP series projectors in the wireless network and it only needs a few clicks to connect it wireless to your PC. Without any additional software to install and without any need of administration rights. The Windows Vista® certification is only given to products that realise superior performance and high security level on Windows Vista®,proved by a compatibility test.

Windows Remote desktop Function

Advanced image express utilityWith the enhanced “Advanced image express utility” software, transmission speed from the PC to the projector increases approximately 1.5 - 5 times.

A PC connectedto LAN/W-LAN

automatically detects projectors

in the network.

Whenconnecting

a USB mouse orkeyboard to the

projector, you canremotely operateyour PC via the

network.

The projectors support “Windows Network Projector” function, which is one of the brand-new features introduced with Windows Vista®. This allows for example presentations from a PC – running Windows Vista® – via the network without connecting RGB cable and without any proprietary software application. Windows Vista® can discover automatically and connect with a few clicks the NeC projector into the network. Like using a networked printer, you can simply select which projector to use from the list presented on the PC screen.

Furthermore, with the NP series projectors it is possible to remotely operate a PC installed some distance away from the projectors via the network by using the “Windows Remote desktop” function.

LAN and W-LAN presentations through a networkThe new NeC NP series projectors support wired as well as wireless LAN.

By connecting a LAN cable to the LAN port (RJ-45) on the projector or using the wireless LAN module on the projector, it is possible to transfer screen images from the PC to the projector more quickly. For on-screen presentation using image express utility 2.0 software (Windows XP is also available) this is 2 to 3 times faster than with conventional models from NeC.

For a variety of presentations, the projectors can be controlled concentrically with a PC to switch projected images with a single operation or project images from the source PC.Furthermore, it is possible to turn the power of the projector on and off and switch input signals from a PC via the network.

The W-LAN module NP01ML2 is already included on the backside of the projector, but is removable at any time. it supports W-LAN standards ieee 802.11a/b/g. There is no need of a W-LAN card anymore.

Remark:In the regions South Africa, ME, Russia, CIS and Turkey a different W-LAN standard has to be used. Therefore please use the optional NP01LM1 version of theW-LAN module.

Multiple input/Output TerminalsThe i/O Terminal design of the NP1150/NP2150/NP3150 and NP3151W projectors includes analogue RGB, 5-core BNC, dVi-i (digital) incl. HdCP, video and S-video. The analogue RGB and BNC also support component inputs. For perfect audiovisual applications with high image and audio qualities 2 x 5 W stereo speakers are built in.

One of two uSB terminals is destined for the W-LAN module. The second one supports the Viewer function. The integrated Viewer* function allows toview slides stored on a uSB memory on the projector. even if there is no computer available, presentations can be conducted simply with the projector. To use the Viewer, JPeG-, BMP-, GiF-, PNG- or index-files have to be created on a PC.

* Please use commercially available uSB memory devices. NeC will not guarantee that the uSB port of the projectors will support all uSB memory devices in the market.

With the new NeC NP series, Hd-like, vivid and crisp dVd images can be projected with the Reon VX video processor powered by HQV™ (Hollywood Quality Video) technology from Silicon Optix. HQV™ processing represents an enormous leap in video processing, with true flagship performance in de-interlacing, pixel-based noise reduction and scaling with both standard-definition and high-definition signals.

Random and Mosquito Noise Reduction All digital video data is compressed and therefore often causes Random or Mosquito Noise.HQV™ evaluates noise over time and on a unique per-pixel basis. With the Random Noise Reduction feature the noise in static areas is reduced by looking at multiple fields at once and evaluating any differences between fields. Mosquito or Codec Noise Reduction removes noise caused by video codecs. The result is virtually perfect noise reduction without sacrifice to image detail.

Video and Film Cadence detectionTypical processing takes 3:2 or 2:2 cadence and matches the incoming signal to one of those field patterns.if the video processor used is unable to identify the correct cadence, half of the image resolution is lost. HQV™ simply processes each field individually, eliminating the chance of choosing the wrong field. it locks onto the3:2 cadence pattern and therefore ensures maximum resolution.

Per-pixel Motion Adaptive de-interlacingA 1080i/480i video is broadcasted as interlaced. each image contains half of the total picture information.de-interlacing is the reconstruction of those frames. With HQV™ technology motion is identified at the pixel level rather than the field level. The pixel level is looked at over a period of four fields (2 current, 2 previous) for Sd and Hd signals. The result is a better motion detection and the maximum possible resolution.

Cinematic Video Quality

Page 9: NEC Techguide NP1150, NP2150, NP3150

detail enhancement HQV™ detail enhancement improves edge contrast without causing ringing or haloing artifacts. The result: Greater depth and contrast with crisp, clean edges.

10-bit processingscaling and warpingScaling involves either down resizing or up resizing the source resolution to the output resolution of a display. 1024-tap scaling along with detail enhancement results in Hd quality images from Sd material, with finer detail and greater dynamic colour range, while keeping true to the source. All processing, scaling and warping is done in 10-bits per channel for full 4:4:4 colour processing.

Advanced Sweet VisionSweet Vision stands for a special Contrast enhancement Technology. Higher contrast makes shades sharper and reproduces details clearly.Sweet Vision is available even on the input signals SdTV (i&P), HdTV (720p, 1080i, 1080p), PC (up to uXGA).
