Bud Leabo Memorial Fund
The purpose of the Fund is to further:
Barbershop harmony singing
membership growth
vocal music training and education
within the boundaries of the Evergreen District of the Barbershop Harmony Society.

This is a member-driven, District-wide fund
Small and large contributions make it grow
Contributions are tax deductible in USA
Only interest revenue used for distribution, which is currently about $10,000.00 each year

QCED Coaching
QCED hosts two shows a year, the proceeds of which are used to support coaching opportunities for quartets in out-lying areas around the District and assist our quartets who will be singing at the BHS International competition.

Application Process
Beginning in our 2017 grant cycles, the Outreach Direct Grant will no longer be available.
Vision grant applications will no longer have a minimum amount to be requested.

Application ProcessApplication Window
Applications will only be open for one month. Fall application windows are open the month of September. Spring application windows are open the month of February.
Qualifying Projects
Application will not be accepted:
o If project is complete or being carried out before or after the given project implementation period
o If a project awarded in the prior year did not submit a Post-Project Report within 60 days of project completion
Applicant must be a 501(c)3 non-profit organization - IRS Determination Letter is required in application.
Projects will not be awarded more than 80% of total project expenses.

Innovation GrantThe Barbershop Harmony Society is making funds available in 2017 for any chapter/district with the BHS or 501(c)3 organization that has an innovative concept that would drive the overall outcomes towards BHS. Those outcomes include: • Music Educators - Helping music educators improve the vitality and impact of their choral
music programs. • Young Leaders - Helping young men become stronger leaders in their schools, communities
and families. • Promoting Harmony - Using a cappella singing as an effective, positive intervention for key
groups, including but not limited to: At-risk youth in underserved communities, Veterans and wounded warriors, Alzheimer's patients
• Improve Leadership - Helping BHS artistic and music directors improve their artistic and leadership skills
• Improve Outreach - Building capacity of BHS chapters to improve their outreach and recruitment efforts
• Community Asset - Establishing singing as a core community asset
