• Dust Obscured Galaxies (DOGs):high-z dusty star-forming galaxies,selected with R-[24] > 14 (Dey+08)

• Hot DOGs:most luminous galaxies in the universe, containing AGN (Assef+15)

Comparison with normal galaxies

The dust mass and temperature of local DOGs are not significantly different (<2σ).

Future work

We suspect that the extreme dust obscuration in DOGs is mainly related with a dust geometry (compact/clumpy) rather than an amount of dust.

To achieve a kpc scale spatial resolution of dust map

• Spitzer 24 micron & Herschel 70 micron archival images for z<0.01 galaxies• ALMA proposal

• MaNGA IFU survey data: ~200 IR-bright galaxies in EDR at z<0.03E(B-V)gas from Hα/Hβ vs. E(B-V)star from SSP modelling

We want to know how DOGs are different with other galaxies in terms of the star formation efficiency, gas-to-dust ratio, and gas fraction by obtaining their CO line data such as our own JCMT observation (16A), large programs JINGLE & MALATANG, and…
