The American Mathematics Competitions (AMCs) are the first in a sequence of competitions in high school mathematics that determine the International Mathematical Olympiad’s United States team .

AMSA students competed in the annual MAML (Massachusetts Association of Math Leagues) Olympiad against approximately 2000 top math students from across the state.

Vishant Prabhakaran

placed 18th in Massachusetts on the Level II exam. He was awarded a check from MAML for his outstanding achievement.

Nicholas Vea John Long

were named finalists for placing among the top 100 scores on the same examination and were invited to take the Level II competition.

Ryan Newberry Zephyr Lucas Joshua Michel Katie Li Christina Teodorescu

distinguished themselves by placing among the top 240 scores in the Level I competition and were named semi-finalists.

MAML (Massachusetts Association of Math Leagues) runs an annual team competition where the top high school math teams from public and private high

schools across Massachusetts are invited. This year a six person team from AMSA competed against ten other elite teams and

AMSA finished FIRST in the Small School division!

MAML Annual Team Competition

The final math meet of the academic year is the NEAML (New England Association of Math Leagues) meet where the top teams from each New England state meet are

invited to compete. Again a six person team from AMSA competed against 14 other schools and AMSA tied for first in the Small School division. Congratulations to Vishant Prabhakaran, Nicholas Vea, Bill Warner, Kevin Cai, John Long, and Zephyr

Lucas for bringing AMSA its first New England math championship!

AMSA placed second for this school year. Our eight teams did very well, with all scoring in the upper quarter of the competing sides in Division A .

AMSA led the final meet with 4 individuals having perfect scores. These were
