GRADUATE THESIS The Boy Who Watched TV: Multimedia and the Media in the Solo Performances of Dan Kwong This project focuses on the methods that Asian American performance artist Dan Kwong undertakes in engaging with American cultural politics and media representations of Asian Americans. Recognizing the lack of a privilege between the live body and the mediatized in Kwong’s work, the study combines theories and techniques from theatre, media and cultural studies toward an understanding of Kwong’s political project via his autobiographical dramaturgy and multimedia mise-en-scène.
