The Graduate School'sOffice of ProfessionalDevelopment is seeking postdoctoral fellows fromany department to lead peer discussions onethics in research for the Responsible Conductfor Researchers Ethics Workshop January15th, 2018. This is an opportunity to gainrelevant experience in teaching research ethics -something in which every university is engaged.
Lab Discussion Facilitators (25)Postdoctoral fellows selected to be LabDiscussion Facilitators will be responsible forleading a 75-minute discussion session for acohort of approximately 20 graduate students.The Discussion Facilitators will be expected tolead the participants through the interactiveportion of The Lab video and engage the studentsin discussion surrounding The Lab video content.The Lab Discussion Facilitators will beresponsible for asking the group discussionquestions, such as "Do you agree with thechoices made in the video? How would you havehandled the situation differently? And what are theethical implications of the choices made by theparticipants?" Lab Discussion Facilitators will begiven a list of potential questions and will haveaccess to The Lab video prior to the event. Theyare tasked with keeping the discussion movingand focused on the ethical context and implicationof the video.

Ask an Immigration Attorney: The Postdoc Office has partnered withimmigration attorney Thomas Arkell, a partnerwith Dunn Law Firm, LLP in Chicago. He willgraciously answer up to two immigration lawquestions per month for free. Any complete andappropriate questions received before the 20thof each month will be included for a monthlydrawing. Two randomly selected questions willbe passed to Mr. Arkell's office by the end ofthe month.
