NCA’s Elementary Summer Reading Project For summer reading this year, our elementary students will have an opportunity to do summer reading in a whole new way. Each student in grades K-5 will select a minimum of two books from the provided lists for summer reading. Students will then select one of the books they have read and do a fun “book report”. These projects are due the first day of school. If you notice big eye rolls or hear lots of groaning when you mention the words "book report", it's probably time to shake up your repertoire of book-related activities. That’s what we thought too. To make this summer’s reading projects more enjoyable, students will be given various choices for their “book reports’. Students will be discussing their summer book readings in class during the first couple days of school. Participation prizes will be awarded as well as special prizes for students whose projects are chosen by our judges to be included in a special display in our NCA library for the week. Listed below are samples of fun book projects for students. For additional ideas, help your child search “alternatives to book reports” or “book report project ideas”. Most of all, have fun this summer and help us build a love for reading in our NCA students!! Have a wonderful summer, Mrs. Shonamon, Elementary Principal

NCA’s Elementary Summer Reading Project

For summer reading this year, our elementary students will have an opportunity to do summer reading in a whole new way.
