Academics & Advisement

All student-athletes are advised by their declared major advisors.

Athletic Student Support Services works with collegiate advisors to help student-athletes meet Big Sky Conference and NCAA requirements.

Coaches can not contact a faculty member about a student-athlete’s progress in class.

(ISU Student-Athlete Handbook, p. 10-18)

Recruiting

On-Campus Contact Faculty members may contact

prospects on campus for recruiting purposes.

At ISU many faculty and staff members assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes during on-campus visits.

Recruiting

Off Campus Contact Faculty and staff are prohibited from having off-

campus contact with prospects. Exceptions

Off campus recruiting contacts made by the admissions office in conjunction with an admissions program are permissible, provided the program is directed at all prospective students, including non-athletes.

Unavoidable off-campus contact is permissible, provided no discussion relevant to ISU athletics takes place.
