She is survived by Steve and his eight siblings, and by seven of her own siblings. A celebration of Pat's life was held at Town and Country Club, 300 S. Mis-sissippi Blvd., St. Paul, on Sunday, June 11. There was a private ceremony and bur-ial. In lieu of flowers donations are re-quested to the Shriners Hospital for chil-dren or St. Jude Children's Research Hospi-tal.
Gerhardt "Gerry" Reeves, PGK, died June 11, at age 94. His wife, Edith, preceded him in death. Gerry was the fourth Grand Knight of Nazareth Council #4021, he served in 1961-62. Over the years he was active in a number of Council programs and activities. His last activity was as a member of the Sick and Vigil Calling Committee in-forming members of the death, visitation and funeral of Brother Knights and family members. He is an Honorary Life Member of our Council .
Our sympathies and prayers go out to these families. May they rest in the peace of Christ.
Eternal rest, grant unto
them, O Lord, and let
perpetual light shine up-
on them. May the
souls of the faithful de-
parted through the mercy
of God rest in peace.
Amen.

From our Grand Knight :
Brother and Sir Knights
The 4th of July is approaching and it gives us pause to consider the constitutional freedoms
we embrace and live in this great country; one of them is freedom of religion where:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment
of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof …"
Merriam Webster definition: : “the right especially as guar-anteed under the free exercise clause of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to practice one's re-ligion or exercise one's beliefs without intervention by the government and to be free of the exercise of authori-ty by a church through the government — see also free exercise clause” Unfortunately, society and our government, through the opin-
ions (intervention) of the courts both Federal and Supreme,
have (over) extended the interpretation to include redefinition
of gender, marriage, and life (beginning and end).
A Satanic Temple monument to fallen soldiers in being erect-
ed in Belle Plaine’s Veterans Memorial Park.
Our religious freedoms (and beliefs) have never been under
stronger assault than they are now. Even though our new Su-
preme Court Justice, Neil Gorsuch, will provide short term bal-
ance, the battle will continue for proper interpretation of reli-
gious freedom and respect for life.
The Knights of Columbus’ four principles are: Charity, Uni-
ty, Fraternity, and Patriotism. Take some time to enjoy the
holiday with family and friends and reflect on Patriotism for
our great country. Reach out to Brother and Sir Knights who
may not be able to share the holiday with others and exemplify
the Charity, Fraternity, and Unity elements of our principles.
Vivat Jesus,
Tom Pepin GK

Prayer for the Canonization of
Father Michael J. McGivney
God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the
widow and orphan, you called your priest, Father Michael
J. McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to
lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor.
Through the example of his life and virtue may we follow
your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his com-
mandment of charity and building up his Body which is the
Church.
Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater
confidence in your love so that we may continue his work
of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask
that you glorify your venerable servant Father Michael J.
McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy
will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now pre-
sent (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord.
Amen. (Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.)
