11:30 a.m. 50th Anniversary Luncheon Forum, Otto A. Shults Community Center

The College honors its golden anniversary class with a luncheon hosted by President Daan Braveman. All members of the class of 1961 and their spouses/partners are invited to attend. Valet service will be available in front of the Shults Center.

Celebrate your commitment to Nazareth’s future over a light lunch with others who have also made planned gifts to the College. Invitation mailed separately. Questions may be directed to the Office of Development at 585-389-2415.

Don’t miss this lighthearted look back on humorous and historical Nazareth College moments told by the College’s most qualified historians, Dr. Mary T. Bush ’51 and College archivist Diane Riley ‘96G.

Back by popular demand, on-campus housing will be available for Reunion Weekend! Be at the center of the action and book a room right here on campus. Simply indicate your housing preferences on the enclosed form or visit alumni.naz.edu/reunion to register online.

Rooms are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register early to ensure availability and the fulfillment of housing requests.

Housing is $40 ($25 for GOLD alumni) per person, per night. Sheets, blankets, and towels are provided. Children under 12 with a sleeping bag may stay for free.

All residence hall rooms are equipped with a bed, dresser, desk, chairs, kitchen, and refrigerator. Consider bringing the following items to make your stay more comfortable:

You’ll be amazed at how your alma mater has changed! You’ve got to see it to believe it. Take a student-led walking or shuttle tour of campus to see sites old and new. Tours include Nazareth’s Golisano Academic Center, newest residence halls, and Golden Flyer Stadium.

5:00–7:00 p.m. Art Show Opening Reception—Shared Spaces Arts Center Gallery

Shared Spaces 2011 pairs a high school art teacher with one of his or her students to celebrate the grand tradition of artistic apprenticeship. Attend the reception to witness the compilation of diverse artistic abilities through educational exploration.

7:00 p.m. Individual Class Parties Various locations

Kick off the weekend in the company of familiar faces. Catch up with your old college roomies and classmates from your time at Nazareth! Look for the location of your class party to take you back to the good ole days.

The Boston-based group takes a capella to the next stage. Tickets cost $10–$40 at the box office. (Alumni receive a 20 percent discount.)

Reunite with college buddies at the local watering hole for drinks and laughs. The outdoor deck is perfect for summertime reminiscing.

Hoping to “burn a few” while you’re reliving the good ole days? Visit the fitness center, pool, and racquetball courts in the Shults Center or the fitness center and track at the Golden Flyer Stadium. Grab a racket and a partner and stop by the tennis courts. They’re open from 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

9:00 a.m. Nazareth’s 5K Run/Walk Sprint for Scholarships On-campus course

Lace up those shoes and stretch your muscles for our 5K Sprint for Scholarships. Meet inside the Golden Flyer Stadium and give it all you’ve got to support students in need of scholarship aid. Register on the enclosed form or visit: alumni.naz.edu/5k

Who says the fun stops at 50? Come celebrate your collective membership in the 51+ club and share memories of your Nazareth experience with fellow alumni during a luncheon for the classes of 1928–1960. Valet service will be available in front of the Shults Center.

Come learn about President Braveman’s vision for Nazareth College in his annual address. Hear about the new Integrated Center for Math and Science and see the progress first-hand.

The flavors of the Finger Lakes come your way as local wineries sample their vintages right here on campus. Riesling, Chardonnay, or Cabernet Sauvignon—which will be your favorite?

The College recognizes the outstanding achievements of its graduates with the Outstanding Alumni Award and the GOLD Alumni Award. Nazareth’s Outstanding Alumni serve as role models for Nazareth students, encourage others to consider a Nazareth education, and further inspire a sense of pride in their alma mater. Let the fun begin! Grab a table with your classmates and show your pride with enthusiastic cheers as your class is recognized. Join President Braveman as we celebrate Nazareth, its alumni, and the 2011 Outstanding Alumni Award winners. Afterwards, the results of the Golden Flyer Challenge will be revealed. Summer casual attire is appropriate. Transportation will be provided from campus. Shuttle information will be available at Reunion Headquarters.

See a GM hydrogen fuel cell car on campus and learn about the technology and research being done right here in Rochester on the cars of the future. Join School of Management alumnus Daniel O’Connell ‘01G of the GM group in Honeoye Falls as he shares insight and expertise, and provides a hands-on experience with one of the actual vehicles.

Nazareth’s Spiritual Journey Catholic Campus Minister Jamie Fazio ‘97 Room 135, Golisano Academic Center

Once a Catholic women’s college, Nazareth today is an institution that embraces all faith traditions. Learn about developments in the College’s religious history and discover how the values upon which Nazareth was founded are very much alive today despite its transformation.

“French Fried Pots” Professor and Chairperson in Art Mitchell Messina Outside the Arts Center

You’ll have the opportunity to select from a collection of ready-made ceramic items to which you can apply glaze and fire in the western raku tradition using a biodiesel fueled burner. A brief lecture will describe the raku process as well as the chemistry behind the glaze process and the synthesis and use of renewable biofuels. At the end you can take your raku souvenir home.

Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. Race starts at 9:00 a.m.

The 5K course is around campus and starts at the Golden Flyer Stadium. The Kids Fun Run will be on the Golden Flyer Stadium track surface.

Entry Fee $20 ($10 for children under 12)

Proceeds benefit the Nazareth College Alumni Scholarship Fund.
