Materials
Crochet hook 3.75 mm Cordonnier yarn 100 grs main color 15 grs. contrasting color
(any 3 ply, soft, baby weight yarn or cotton thread,
appropriate for a 3.5 or 3.75 mm hook will do)
5 small flat buttonsSize: 3 months

Beginning chain: Ch 62
Row 1: hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in next 6, (hdc, ch1, hdc) in next, hdc in next 14, , (hdc, ch1, hdc) in next, hdc

Divide for legs
Row 43: hdc in next 48 sts., join with slip stitch to top of beginning ch2. Change yarn to contrasting color. Ch2, turn
Row 44: hdc in next 2,* hdc2tog in next, hdc in next 3, repeat from * around. Join round with slip stitch. Ch2, turn
Row 45: *fphdc in next, bphdc in next, repeat from * to end of row. Join round with slip stitch, ch2, turn.
Row 46: Repeat row 45.
For second leg, skip one stitch, , join yarn at next, ch2 and work 48 hdc. Join round with slip stitch to top of beginning
ch2. Work rows 44, 45 and 46 as for first leg
Button and buttonhole bands
Button band:
Row 1: Rejoin yarn to last stitch in left side back. Work 56 evenly distributed sc. Ch1, turn.Row 2: Sc in every stitch to end of row. Ch1, turn.Row 3: Sc in every stitch. Ch1, turnRow 4: Sc in every stitch. Ch1, cut off yarn, weave in ends.
Buttonhole band:
Row 1: Rejoin yarn to last st in right back. Work 56 evenly distributed sc. Ch1, turn.Row 2: Sc in every stitch to end of row. Ch1, turn.Row 3: sc in next 7,* sk1, ch1, sc in next 10, repeat from * 4 times more, sc in remaining stitches. Ch1, turnRow 4: sc in every stitch. Cut off yarn leaving enough length to sew ends of buttonhole band in place.
