R.P. Mitchell Center for RepatriatedPrisoner of War (RPOW) Studies

Info:1. Performs more than 250 RPOW

evaluations each year for members of all services as well as the State Department.

2. Functions as the only longitudinal study of RPOWs.

3. SECNAV directed the creation of the Mitchell Foundation, a private 501C3 corporation, to help support the Center’s research efforts.

Purpose: The Mitchell Center provides annual clinical evaluations and conducts follow up studies of RPWs from Vietnam, Desert Storm and OIF, in order to evaluate the mental and physical effects of captivity and as well delineate the predictors of repatriate resilience.
