How to Choose the Right Lens(NuView Replacement Lenses)
3 Things You Need to Know to Select Your Replacement Lens:
1. Projector Model
2. Throw Distance
3. Image Width
(#2 and #3 Need to be in Same Units of Measurement)
How to Choose the Right Lens (NuView Replacement Lenses)
Distance to Width Ratio
Distance to Width Ratio = Throw Distance Image Width
Example: 44’ Throw Distance
120” Diagonal Screen (8’ wide x 6’ high)
Distance to Width Ratio = 44 8
Distance to Width Ratio = 5.5:1
Navitar will publish the Distance to Width Ratio (Throw Ratio) that any given lens will produce on the projector it is designed to be used with.
ScreenStar Conversion Lenses
Performance vs. Price has come to a point where physically smaller projectors are now being used in situations where as little as two years ago they would not have been a viable solution
How do you get a 3 pound lens into a 8 pound projector?
ScreenStar Conversion Lenses

NuView Lens Selector
Navitar’s online expert for determining the correct NuView
replacement lens for your projector
Provide the Lens Finder with a few key pieces of information
• Projector Manufacturer
• Projector’s Manufacturer’s Model
• Aspect ratio
• Units of measurement
• Desired projected image size
– Width, height or diagonal
• Projector throw distance
http://presentation.navitar.com/apps/lenssearch/
Drop down menus will show all projector manufacturers and models that Navitar offers replacement lenses for
Calculator will automatically determine the (W) (H) (D) of the screen size after inputting only one dimension based on the aspect ratio selected.
Lens Finder will highlight the proper lens based on your input along with the minimum and maximum range if it is a manual zoom lens.
You can adjust the Projector Throw Distance by either left clicking your mouse on the image of the projector and moving it in and out, left
clicking your mouse on the Projector Throw Distance slide bar or using the up/down arrows next to the distance.
Adjusting the Projector Throw Distance to 70’ requires a different lens.
Since this is a manual zoom lens you are also being shown the range that this lens will work in to get the requested screen size.
If you adjust your throw distance and there are no NuView replacement lenses highlighted, the lens finder can help you with possible alternatives.
You can use your mouse and click on any of the Part #’s that are listed and you will be provided with the Distance that lens will need to be at to
produce the screen size that was inputted into the Lens Finder.
This can be helpful if there is some flexibility in your install.
