Naussac, by Clémentine and AnaïsBefore, Naussac was a village situated in a fertile plain.
Here is what our village looked like until 1977.

In 1977 the construction of the dam to make a reservoir was only a project…
In fact the dam was designedto regulate the river Loire, through the river Allier so as to provide water to irrigate the fields and also for the nuclear plants.
But numerous opponents demonstrated against it. They put forward ecological, economical and anti-nuclear arguments.

The demolition In spite of this, the village was destroyed, and the cemetery was removed. It was rebuilt in the new village.
The former village now lies under 190,000,000 m3 of water.
The tower of the old castle was rebuilt too.
The stones were numbered one by one and rebuilt in the same shape.

It provides water in case of dryness and cheaper electricity.
