Welcome to Fiddlehead CreekThe North Country’s leading source for locally-grown native plants.

Our VisionAt Fiddlehead Creek we strive to provide the highest

quality, locally-grown native plants, unmatched expertise, and exemplary customer service.

Need more help? We offer consulting and design services including site visits and appointments at the nursery. We also offer garden installation, maintenance and coaching services. Check out our website to learn more.

Fiddlehead Creek is located in Hartford, NY, in the Champlain Valley between the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in New York to our west and the Green Mountains in Vermont to our east. We are about a 25 minute drive east of Glens Falls, NY.

The nursery grows native plants for living landscapes. We specialize in natives for rain gardens and shoreline buffers to protect the water quality of our local waters; natives for birds, butterflies, pollinators and wildlife gardens; spring ephemerals, woodland gardens, and more.

We provide expert advice on plant selection and design. Unlike many big box stores or large garden centers - we know our plants because we grow them! We can help you with selection for specific site conditions, design requirements, etc. Our online resources - our plant catalog and plant lists for specific needs - inform and inspire as you plan your project before or after your visit to the nursery. And our plant labels at the nursery provide the important information you need to select the right plant for the right place. For those looking for more help, be sure to ask us about our consulting and design services as well as our garden installation, maintenance, and coaching services. We look forward to helping you transform your property into a sustainable, living landscape.

Looking for ideas or inspiration? Be sure to check out our display gardens at the nursery.

Did you know? We are a Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Foundation, a Monarch Waystation with MonarchWatch, and a registered Pollinator Garden with the Million Pollinator Garden Challenge.

At Fiddlehead Creek we strive to provide the highest quality, locally-grown native plants, along with the knowledge and expertise about the plants and how to use them in the landscape. We provide consulting and design services, along with garden installation, maintenance and garden coaching services.

We grow over 250 species of native perennials, ferns, grasses, and shrubs for living landscapes. The nursery specializes in natives for rain gardens and shoreline buffers to protect the water quality of our local waters, native alternatives for invasives, and natives for pollinators and wildlife gardens.

While our roots are in New York Natives, we now also grow a variety of Northeast & Eastern US Natives to meet the growing demand for native plants. We grow both straight species and cultivars (cultivated varieties) - or ‘nativars’.

Don’t see what you are looking for on this list? Give us a call to talk about our custom growing or plant sourcing services.

What size are our plants? We grow landscape-ready containerized stock. Sizes vary, however most perennials, ferns, and grasses are 1-2 gallons, and shrubs typically range from 2-7 gallons in size.

Do we ship? No, we are sorry but we do not ship plants. Plants may be picked up at the nursery or delivery can be arranged.

Do we guarantee our plants? We guarantee that our plants are heathy and true to name at the time that you purchase them. Due to conditions beyond our control, we do not guarantee their survival once they leave the nursery. We do our best to make sure you know how to care for your plants and if you do experience any problems please let us know so that we can try to help.

What are our hours? The nursery is open seasonally from April/May - Oct/Nov. Please call or check the website for current hours. We are also available by appointment.

We accept cash, check, and most major credit cards.
