ChristianNewsWire.com ATLANTA, Aug. 10 /Christian Newswire/ -- Michael Youssef, Founder and President of Leading The Way, says the effort by political Islamic leaders to build a Mosque and Islamic Center just yards away from Ground Zero is not only insensitive, it is also part of Islam's overall goal to dominate the world. “Most Westerners do not understand that Islam is not a religion in their true understanding of what the word means,” stated Michael Youssef, PhD. “Islam is a political and social ideology that will never submit to a secular form of gov- ernment. Islamists will wait until such time as they are able to transform soci- eties into Sharia-dominated ones, giving citizens a Taliban-type government.” “Polls suggest that a majority of Americans do not want the Mosque built at the Twin Tower’s former site. However, Muslim leaders are using western lan- guage of “tolerance” and “freedom of religion” to gain approval for placing the mosque by the site of the infamous terrorist attack. “Islamic and Arabic media outlets are triumphantly, if not blatantly, say- ing that Islam is a superior religion, therefore it can build a mosque any- where in the world, and the infidels need to shut up and accept it," added Youssef. “When you realize that in Saudi Arabia, the most likely bank rollers of the $100 million project, forbids even Christian foreigners to worship in their own homes, you will soon realize the contempt they hold for the West in general and Christians in particular.” The administration in Washington naively believes if America is nice to the Islamists they will be nice to America. The assassination of Egypt’s President Anwar Sadat nearly 30 years ago should instantly put an end to that fallacy. “He tried to be nice to the Islamists and set them free from prison,” stated Youssef. “But in ‘thanksgiving’ for what he did, they pulled the trigger and killed him on that fateful day of October 6, 1981.” Islam continues its march around the world. There were 50,000 Muslims in Western Europe in the early 1900s. By 2008, as many as 25 million were living there. – Forty percent of Rotterdam’s current population is Muslim. – In Brussels, one in three citizens (33%) follow Islam. – In Marseille, one in four people (25%) is Muslim. – Twenty percent of inner London’s population “claims allegiance to Islam.” “Socialists and leftists in the media play down Muslim ideology and pres- ent Islamists and Jihadists as peace lovers,” commented Youssef. "This naivety and ignorance on the part of the Left is like Christmas in July for Muslim leaders. The Islamists and Jihadists are laughing in their sleeves at such stupidity, but they will soon laugh aloud if Muslims become the major- ity in these countries. Ironically, the Jihadists first victims will be the leftists, the socialists and the godless.” Michael Youssef Speaks Out on Proposed Majestic Mosque in Manhattan Nationwide Church Voter Registration Drive – New Website has everything you need to mobilize Christians to Register & Vote! Noah Webster(1758-1843)

Revolutionary Soldier; Judge;Legislator; Educator; “Schoolmaster to America”

In selecting men for office, let principle be your guide.Regard not the particularsect or denomination of thecandidate - look to his char-acter... When a citizen giveshis suffrage to a man ofknown immorality he abuseshis trust; he sacrifices notonly his own interest, but thatof his neighbor, he betraysthe interest of his country. [Noah Webster, Letters to aYoung Gentleman Com-mencing His Education towhich is subjoined a BriefHistory of the United States(New Haven: S. Converse,1823), pp. 18, 19.]

When you become entitledto exercise the right of votingfor public officers, let it beimpressed on your mind thatGod commands you tochoose for rulers, “just menwho will rule in the fear ofGod.” The preservation ofgovernment depends on thefaithful discharge of this duty;if the citizens neglect theirduty and place unprincipledmen in office, the govern-ment will soon be corrupted;laws will be made, not for thepublic good so much as forselfish or local purposes;corrupt or incompetent menwill be appointed to executethe laws; the public revenueswill be sqandered on unwor-thy men; and the rights of thecitizens will be violated ordisregarded. If a republicangovernment fails to securepublic prosperity and happi-ness, it must be because thecitizens neglect the divinecommands, and elect badmen to make and administerthe laws. Second President of theUnited States

We electors have animportant constitutionalpower placed in our hands:we have a check upon twobranches of the legislature,as each branch has upon theother two; the power I meanof electing at stated periods, one branch, which branchhas the power of electinganother. It becomes neces-sary to every subject then, tobe in some degree a states-man: and to examine andjudge for himself of the ten-dencies of political princi-ples and measures. Let each citizen rememberat the moment he is offeringhis vote that he is not makinga present or a compliment toplease an individual - or atleast that he ought not so todo; but that he is executingone of the most solemn trustsin human society for whichhe is accountable to God andhis country. Nothing is more essentialto the establishment of man-ners in a State than that allpersons employed in placesof power and trust be men ofunexceptionable characters. The public cannot be toocurious concerning the char-acter of public men. I have one great politicalidea... That idea is an oldone. It is widely and general-ly assented to; nevertheless, itis very generally trampledupon and disregarded. Thebest expression of it, I havefound in the Bible. It is insubstance, “Righteousnessexalteth a nation; sin is areproach to any people”[Proverbs 14:34]. This con-stitutes my politics - the neg-ative and positive of my poli-tics, and the whole of my pol-itics... I feel it my duty to doall in my power to infuse thisidea into the public mind, that it may speedily be recog-nized and practiced upon byour people. 40 Days for Life is a com-munity-based campaign thatdraws attention to the evil ofabortion through the use ofa three-point program:• Prayer and fasting• Constant vigil• Community outreach40 Days for Life takes a

determined, peacefulapproach to showing localcommunities the conse-quences of abortion in theirown neighborhoods, fortheir own friends and fami-lies. It puts into action adesire to cooperate withGod in the carrying out ofHis plan for the end of abor-tion in America.

The 40-day campaigntracks Biblical history, where God used 40-dayperiods to transform indi-viduals, communities ... andthe entire world. From Noahin the flood to Moses on themountain to the disciplesafter Christ's resurrection, itis clear that God sees thetransformative value of Hispeople accepting and meet-ing a 40-day challenge.

Vision and mission40 Days for Life is a

focused pro-life campaignwith a vision to access God’spower through prayer, fast-ing, and peaceful vigil toend abortion in America. The mission of the cam-

paign is to bring togetherthe body of Christ in a spiritof unity during a focused 40day campaign of prayer, fasting, and peacefulactivism, with the purposeof repentance, to seek God’sfavor to turn hearts andminds from a culture ofdeath to a culture of life, thus bringing an end toabortion in America.

Prayer and FastingBefore getting involved

with the 40 Days for Lifecampaign, please remem-ber that prayer and fastingare the foundation. If there is no abortion

facility in your town, praiseGod!But wherever you are or

whatever you're doing, youcan pray to end abortion.

You can also pray forGod's guidance for thoseinvolved in prayer vigils andpro-life action around thecountry. And please consid-er fasting. Some people areunable to fast from food forhealth reasons; that'sunderstandable.

Fasting simply involvesrenouncing an activity thatcan put a barrier betweenyou and God. It could be tel-evision, the internet, choco-late, coffee, etc. You reallycan do without it. Take thetime you usually spend inthose activities and give itback to God.

To help guide yourprayer, we have a 40-dayseries of devotionals thataccompany the 40 Days forLife campaign. They are allposted for your conven-ience. You can still pray, even if a formal campaign isnot currently being con-ducted. God will use your40-day commitment toprayer in some way, in somefashion. For a 40 Days for Life

Before Anita came to the Mission her life was out of control. She was a severe alcoholicfor 25 years and had blown through four marriages. Her life felt hopeless.

Anita’s last marriage had been to a physician. She had been living the high life, whichincluded a nice house, Mercedes Benz, horses, and a lot of lavish trips. Although shethought she had everything money could buy, she was still empty inside. As before, sheturned to alcohol to try to help her feel better about life.

Anita has two daughters. The oldest was raised by Anita’sparents due to her drinking career (as she puts it). While inher alcoholism, Anita did raise the other daughter. As aresult, her younger daughter suffers from mood disor-ders, anger issues, and bad choices.

Anita and her husband divorced when he went toprison 13 years ago. She had been on her own for a whileand finally hit rock bottom. Anita came to the end of herrope when she had no place to go. She left Gillette lastSeptember with $20 in her pocket and met a woman at CelebrateRecovery that recommended the Mission.

Anita was hesitant to come because she thought it would be a stereotypical homeless shel-ter like what she had seen on TV. She came to the Transformation Center on October 26th.She had accepted Christ many years ago but had lived in a backslidden state. After rededi-cating her life to Christ she sold her car and decided to join the Discipleship Program.

Anita is in the second phase of Program and is 9 months sober. She has been reconciledto her father and is currently volunteering for an outreach program. She is hoping it willturn into full-time work.

Anita has shared that all her needs have been taken care of by God and she is learning totrust Him in areas of her life where she has never trusted Him before. Anita’s favorite Bibleverse is Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you andnot to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Anita is learning to walk in God’sdestiny for her life. She has dedicated her life to actively serve the Lord and help othersthrough the same struggles she endured. She is truly grateful for all God has done to trans-form her life. Thank you for your continued support as we serve God at the Mission.

BOISE, Idaho, Aug. 24 /ChristianNewswire.com/ -- Theseultrasound machines are a powerful tool in building a cul-ture of life and allowing pregnant women to see the devel-opment and humanity of their preborn children.

The dedication service was held on Tuesday, August 24that 6:00 p.m. at Stanton Healthcare at the Barnabas CenterBuilding 4859 Field Street, Boise, ID (behind the VineyardChurch 4950 Bradley Street).

Stanton Healthcare is a cutting edge life affirmingwomen's clinic dedicated to helping women who find them-selves in unexpected crisis pregnancies by providing thememotional, spiritual and practical assistance.

Stanton Healthcare is delighted to have partnered withthe Knights of Columbus in their national program whichhelps local pregnancy centers across the nation purchaseultrasound machines.

This is the first such partnership in the State of Idaho. Knights of Columbus, Idaho State Deputy Brian Simer,

states: “Every day, thousands of women are making individualdecisions to have an abortion under great pressure, andoften with little knowledge about the precious new humanlife within them. Modern ultrasound technology now pro-

vides clear, well-defined full color images of the child in thewomb. The opportunity to see such images, and to under-stand in detail the development of a child even in the earlyweeks of pregnancy often has a dramatic effect on awoman’s decision regarding her pregnancy.

“Through our ultrasound program, the Supreme Councilprovides a matching grant for every state or local councilthat raises half the cost of a new machine. Since the pro-gram began in Iowa, Georgia and Florida 19 months ago,Knights in 25 states have enabled the purchase of 53 ultra-

sound machines. Together, we have so far donated$1,627,855 to buy these machines, and it is the singlelargest and most important project being funded by ourCulture of Life Fund.”

Brandi Swindell, Founder and Director of StantonHealthcare, states, “We are thrilled to announce the dedica-tion of these two state of the art ultrasound machines. Weare also deeply gratified to have partnered with the Knights

of Columbus whose deep generosity made this project pos-sible.

“It is especially exciting that the Knights have chosenStanton Healthcare to be the first clinic from the State ofIdaho to be a part of their national program.

“These two ultrasound machines are a powerful tool inhelping build a culture of life as it gives women an extraor-dinary opportunity to see first hand the development of theirpreborn child. It is truly ‘a window into the womb.’

“One of the new machines is also a mobile unit whichwill give Stanton the unique opportunity to open ‘satellite’offices in the more rural areas of Idaho. In this way, we willbe able to reach women throughout the entire state.”

Hebrews 3:3-4 NIV3. Jesus has been found worthy of greater honorthan Moses, just as the builder of a house hasgreater honor than the house itself. 4. For every house is built by someone, but Godis the builder of everything.

THE SAVIOR (GOD in human form)born of the Virgin Mary

Matthew 1:23 NIV“The virgin will be with child and will give birthto a son, and they will call him Immanuel” –which means, “God with us.”

John 14:6 NIVJesus answered, “I am the way and the truth andthe life. No one comes to the Father exceptthrough me.”

No other person can save you or giveyou hope and eternal life.

What I am about to tell you is something you’ve probablynever heard or will ever read in history books. I believe that I am an eyewitness to history. I cannot tell you

that Hitler took Austria by tanks and guns; it would distort histo-ry. We elected him by a landslide - 98% of the vote. I’ve neverread that in any American publications. Everyone thinks thatHitler just rolled in with his tanks and took Austria by force. In 1938, Austria was in deep Depression. Nearly one-third of

our workforce was unemployed. We had 25% inflation and 25%bank loan interest rates.Farmers and business people were declaring bankruptcy

daily. Young people were going from house to house begging forfood. Not that they didn’t want to work; there simply weren’t anyjobs. My mother was a Christian woman and believed in helpingpeople in need. Every day we cooked a big kettle of soup andbaked bread to feed those poor, hungry people - about 30 daily. The Communist Party and the National Socialist Party were

fighting each other. Blocks and blocks of cities like Vienna, Linz, and Graz were destroyed. The people became desperate andpetitioned the government to let them decide what kind of gov-ernment they wanted. We looked to our neighbor on the north, Germany, where

Hitler had been in power since 1933. We had been told that theydidn’t have unemployment or crime, and they had a high stan-dard of living. Nothing was ever said about persecution of anygroup – Jewish or otherwise. We were led to believe that every-one was happy. We wanted the same way of life in Austria. Wewere promised that a vote for Hitler would mean the end ofunemployment and help for the family. Hitler also said that busi-nesses would be assisted, and farmers would get their farmsback. Ninety-eight percent of the population voted to annexAustria to Germany and have Hitler for our ruler. We were overjoyed, and for three days we danced in the

streets and had candlelight parades. The new governmentopened up big field kitchens and everyone was fed. After the election, German officials were appointed, and like a

miracle, we suddenly had law and order. Three or four weekslater, everyone was employed. The government made sure that alot of work was created through the Public Work Service.Hitler decided we should have equal rights for women. Before

this, it was a custom that married Austrian women did not workoutside the home. An able-bodied husband would be lookeddown on if he couldn’t support his family. Many women in theteaching profession were elated that they could retain the jobsthey previously had been required to give up for marriage.

Hitler Targets Education - Eliminates ReligiousInstruction for Children:Our education was nationalized. I attended a very good public

school. The population was predominantly Catholic, so we hadreligion in our schools. The day we elected Hitler (March 13,

1938), I walked into my schoolroom to find the crucifix replacedby Hitler’s picture hanging next to a Nazi flag. Our teacher, a verydevout woman, stood up and told the class we wouldn’t pray orhave religion anymore. Instead, we sang “Deutschland,Deutschland, Uber Alles,” and had physical education.Sunday became National Youth Day with compulsory atten-

dance. Parents were not pleased about the sudden change incurriculum. They were told that if they did not send us, theywould receive a stiff letter of warning the first time. The secondtime they would be fined the equivalent of $300, and the thirdtime they would be subject to jail. The first two hours consistedof political indoctrination. The rest of the day we had sports. Astime went along, we loved it. Oh, we had so much fun and gotour sports equipment free. We would go home and gleefully tellour parents about the wonderful time we had. My mother was very unhappy. When the next term started, she

took me out of public school and put me in a convent. I told hershe couldn’t do that and she told me that someday when I grewup, I would be grateful. There was a very good curriculum, buthardly any fun - no sports, and no political indoctrination. Ihated it at first but felt I could tolerate it. Every once in a while, on holidays, I went home. I would go

back to my old friends and ask what was going on and what theywere doing. Their loose lifestyle was very alarming to me. Theylived without religion. By that time unwed mothers were glorifiedfor having a baby for Hitler. It seemed strange to me that oursociety changed so suddenly. As time went along, I realized whata great deed my mother did so that I wasn’t exposed to that kindof humanistic philosophy.

Equal Rights Hits Home:In 1939, the war started and a food bank was established. All

food was rationed and could only be purchased using foodstamps. At the same time, a full-employment law was passedwhich meant if you didn’t work, you didn’t get a ration card, andif you didn’t have a card, you starved to death. Women whostayed home to raise their families didn’t have any marketableskills and often had to take jobs more suited for men.Soon after this, the draft was implemented. It was compulsory

for young people, male and female, to give one year to the laborcorps. During the day, the girls worked on the farms, and at nightthey returned to their barracks for military training just like theboys. They were trained to be anti-aircraft gunners and partici-pated in the signal corps. After the labor corps, they were notdischarged but were used in the front lines. When I go back to Austria to visit my family and friends, most

of these women are emotional cripples because they just werenot equipped to handle the horrors of combat. Three monthsbefore I turned 18, I was severely injured in an air raid attack. Inearly had a leg amputated, so I was spared having to go into thelabor corps and into military service.

Hitler Restructured the Family ThroughDaycare:When the mothers had to go out into the work force, the gov-

ernment immediately established child care centers. You couldtake your children ages 4 weeks to school age and leave themthere around-the-clock, 7 days a week, under the total care ofthe government. The state raised a whole generation of children. There were no motherly women to take care of the children, justpeople highly trained in child psychology. By this time, no onetalked about equal rights. We knew we had been had.

Health Care and Small Business Suffer UnderGovernment Controls: Before Hitler, we had very good medical care. Many American

doctors trained at the University of Vienna. After Hitler, healthcare was socialized, free for everyone. Doctors were salaried bythe government. The problem was, since it was free, the peoplewere going to the doctors for everything. When the good doctorarrived at his office at 8 a.m., 40 people were already waitingand, at the same time, the hospitals were full. If you needed elec-tive surgery, you had to wait a year or two for your turn. Therewas no money for research as it was poured into socialized med-icine. Research at the medical schools literally stopped, so thebest doctors left Austria and emigrated to other countries. As for healthcare, our tax rates went up to 80% of our income.

Newlyweds immediately received a $1,000 loan from the govern-ment to establish a household. We had big programs for families. All day care and education were free. High schools were takenover by the government and college tuition was subsidized.Everyone was entitled to free handouts, such as food stamps, clothing, and housing. We had another agency designed to monitor business. My

brother-in-law owned a restaurant that had square tables.Government officials told him he had to replace them with roundtables because people might bump themselves on the corners. Then they said he had to have additional bathroom facilities. Itwas just a small dairy business with a snack bar. He couldn’tmeet all the demands. Soon, he went out of business. If the gov-ernment owned the large businesses and not many small onesexisted, it could be in control. We had consumer protection. We were told how to shop and

what to buy. Free enterprise was essentially abolished. We had aplanning agency specially designed for farmers. The agentswould go to the farms, count the live-stock, then tell the farmerswhat to produce, and how to produce it.

“Mercy Killing” Redefined:In 1944, I was a student teacher in a small village in the Alps.

The villagers were surrounded by mountain passes which, in thewinter, were closed off with snow, causing people to be isolated. So people intermarried and offspring were sometimes retarded. When I arrived, I was told there were 15 mentally retardedadults, but they were all useful and did good manual work. Iknew one, named Vincent, very well. He was a janitor of theschool. One day I looked out the window and saw Vincent andothers getting into a van. I asked my superior where they weregoing. She said to an institution where the State HealthDepartment would teach them a trade, and to read and write. The families were required to sign papers with a little clause thatthey could not visit for 6 months. They were told visits wouldinterfere with the program and might cause homesickness. As time passed, letters started to dribble back saying these

people died a natural, merciful death. The villagers were notfooled. We suspected what was happening. Those people left inexcellent physical health and all died within 6 months. We calledthis euthanasia.

The Final Steps - Gun Laws:Next came gun registration. People were getting injured by

guns. Hitler said that the real way to catch criminals (we still hada few) was by matching serial numbers on guns. Most citizenswere law abiding and dutifully marched to the police station toregister their firearms. Not long afterwards, the police said thatit was best for everyone to turn in their guns. The authoritiesalready knew who had them, so it was futile not to comply vol-untarily. No more freedom of speech. Anyone who said something

against the government was taken away. We knew many peoplewho were arrested, not only Jews, but also priests and ministerswho spoke up.Totalitarianism didn’t come quickly, it took 5 years from 1938

until 1943, to realize full dictatorship in Austria. Had it happenedovernight, my countrymen would have fought to the last breath.Instead, we had creeping gradualism. Now, our only weaponswere broom handles. The whole idea sounds almost unbeliev-able that the state, little by little eroded our freedom. After World War II, Russian troops occupied Austria. Women

were raped, preteen to elderly. The press never wrote about thiseither. When the Soviets left in 1955, they took everything thatthey could, dismantling whole factories in the process. Theysawed down whole orchards of fruit, and what they couldn’tdestroy, they burned. We called it The Burned Earth. Most of thepopulation barricaded themselves in their houses. Women hid intheir cellars for 6 weeks as the troops mobilized. Those whocouldn’t, paid the price. There is a monument in Vienna today, dedicated to those women who were massacred by the Russians. This is an eye witness account. It’s true... those of us who

sailed past the Statue of Liberty came to a country of unbelievablefreedom and opportunity.America Truly is the Greatest Country in the World. Don’t Let Freedom Slip Away!“After America, There is No Place to Go”

What began as a simple discussion over lunch, God hasturned into a network of Christian radio stations servingMontana, Wyoming, and Idaho! In 1979, oil executive Wayland Elenburg and insurance

agent Marvin Calahan had a lunchtime meeting to discussinsurance. Realizing that they were both Christians, the conver-sation soon turned to their faith, and the need for a Christianradio station to serve Montana’s hi-line region. In 1980, with the encouragement of many Christians in the

Havre area, the two men, along with Havre CPA Jerry Waltari, established Hi-Line Radio Fellowship, Inc., a Montana non-profit, tax exempt, corporation and began the plans to build aChristian radio station in Havre.July 28, 1983, KXEI 95.1 FM in Havre signed-on as “Your

Channel of Praise” radio, broadcasting Christian music, teaching, and preaching programs 18 hours per day. KXEI wasestablished as a non-commercial, listener supported radioministry. Over the next eight years, three FM translators wereadded along the hi-line of Montana, and KXEI began broad-casting 24 hours per day.In June, 1991, Hi-Line’s second full-power radio station

signed-on when a Helena radio station owner offered to loanan AM station in Helena to Hi-Line until it could obtain its ownstation there. The chance to begin broadcasting in Helena withno start-up costs enabled Hi-Line to significantly increase itscash flow, donor base, and number of people reached by itsministry, almost overnight. In 1994, Hi-Line was given the opportunity to uplink its pro-

gramming onto satellite, enabling “Your Channel of Praise” tofeed its programming to radio stations and translators any-where in the northwestern United States. Over the next severalyears new FM radio stations and translators were added serv-ing cities and rural areas in Montana, and the organization’strade name changed to “Your Network of Praise.”

In 2001, Your Network of Praise acquired Distant ShoresMedia, a company which owned KALS 97.1 FM, a commercialChristian station in Kalispell, and a translator in Polson.Ultimately, KALS was transferred into a non-profit corporationthough it continued to be operated as a commercial station, separate from the operations of Your Network of Praise. In 2003, YNOP expanded its ministry to Wyoming with the

purchase of KAXG, Gillette, from the American FamilyAssociation. A translator was soon added in Rock Springs, along with another full-power FM station, KOHR, in Sheridan. In 2006, founding General Manager Ed Matter retired and

Roger Lonnquist was named as his replacement. The currentYNOP management team also includes Brenda Boyum, StationManager at KXEI, Brad Rauch, General Manager at KALS, andDavid Brown, Network Program Director. At the beginning of 2007, plans were made to update and

improve the format of Your Network of Praise by making a sub-stantial investment in new technology, and consolidating theoperations of Your Network of Praise and KALS.With the implementation of new technology, Your Network

of Praise would be able to broadcast from its own studio loca-tions in Kalispell or Havre. In July, 2007, Your Network of Praise debuted its updated

format which included the addition of a Kalispell-based morn-ing team featuring Dave Brown & Nick Tobiason, Montana andWyoming news with Gary Hills, and Dave Kirby covering after-noons. Also featured is 25-year YNOP veteran announcer LoisRamberg.2007 was also a record year of signal expansion at Your

Network of Praise as the ministry debuted 12 new FM transla-tors, including two translators in the State of Idaho.

2008 has seen the debut of a new full-power FM station inButte, and one new translator. And, the FederalCommunications Commission has issued a number of newlicenses to YNOP for new full-power stations in Montana andNorth Dakota.

In July, 2008, Your Network of Praise commemorated the25th anniversary of the debut of its first station with a specialall-day broadcast hosted by Network Program Director DavidBrown and Network General Manager Roger Lonnquist. Inthanksgiving to the Lord for 25 years of His provision, YNOPlaunched a unique evangelistic outreach through which it isworking with its audience to see 25,000 people personally toldabout Jesus Christ by the end of 2008, through personal distri-bution of a special gospel brochure produced by YNOP.

During these first 25 years, the Lord has brought so manywonderful people together to accomplish His work here atYNOP! It’s been amazing… and we look to the Lord, in awe, aswe prepare for the next era here at Your Network of Praise!

Meet the StaffYour Network of Praise is blessed with a staff of hard working, dedicated people. Please take a minute and meet them!

We Remember:The Voices of 9/11We shall never forget the horror of what we saw on

9/11/2001.We cannot fathom the horror of what the inhabi-

tants of Tower 1 and Tower 2 endured before theirdeaths.

There are no other “feelings” that should be con-sidered. The sympathies of our nation should be andshall only be with the victims and families of 9/11.There is nothing more important than honoring theirmemory and the significance of that day.

The board members of Keep America Safe, LizCheney, Bill Kristol and Debra Burlingame announcethe release of “We Remember,” a [video] featuringfirst responders and family members of the victims ofthe terrorist attacks of 9/11 who are speaking out inopposition to the proposed Ground Zero Mosque. Exciting! Spirit-Filled! Anointed! These are only a few wordsthat come to mind as we remember the illuminating messagesof Dan Bohi, the speaker for the Nazarene IntermountainDistrict Camp Meeting, held in July at First Church of theNazarene in Nampa, Idaho. The experience reminds us of spir-it-filled meetings and revivals from earlier years, when we sawhundreds of people at a time spontaneously go forward to thealtar to ask God’s forgiveness and to commit themselves to adeeper walk with God as well as renewed focus on daily Biblereading and study. Seeing it again in July was inspiring andchallenging.

In his opening remarks to a packed audience, Dan Bohi saidthat he is answering God’s calling to him to “wake up” thechurch from apathy and the acceptance of programs as a sub-stitute for the manifestation of the power of the Holy Spirit.Bohi, himself a lay-person, challenged his listeners, whichincluded church members and church leaders from all overthe Northwest, to commit themselves to prayer, the Bible(encouraging them to read it completely through at least oncea year), as they also respond to God's calling in each of theirlives, to use the spiritual gifts as spoken of in the NewTestament, and to pray for each other and love each other.

Honesty in our relationship with God and each other, elimi-nating pretense of spirituality and becoming real, in today’s ter-minology, were important messages we received from the Julymeetings, but most of all, a renewed inspiration to be filledwith the Holy Spirit and to be used to spread the Gospel andserve others was what we carried away with us.

Greg and Glenda Bostockmet in the town of Buhl,Idaho in 1981. When sharingtheir testimony, Glenda tellsthat their “first date was sortof a fluke.” But God had aplan to unite a Mormon boywith a devoted Christian anduse them to spread His lovethrough their gifts of music.

Being born and raised inUtah and Idaho, this part ofthe country is home for theBostocks. Greg and Glendawith their daughter Anna nowtravel across America asHeart & Soul bringing hopeand encouragement throughmusic, multi-media, testi-monies and God’s Word.

On August 1, they returnedto their hometown of Buhlfor concerts at CalvaryChapel. The sanctuary wasfilled with family, old friendsand new faces. The followingweek took them back to theircurrent home of Layton,Utah. Traveling most of theyear in a motor home, Heart& Soul doesn’t get to seemuch of home so they wel-comed the opportunity tominister at Christian LifeCenter. Other concerts whilehome in August includedElko, Nevada and Boise,Idaho.

Greg’s love for musicbegan at an early age and hisgift for songwriting and play-ing acoustic guitar developedin high school. Glenda grewup in a musical family andlearned piano and singingharmony with her twin sisterBrenda. Their musical giftscontinue in their childrenwho are all in music ministry.Greg and Glenda have an

awesome testimony of howGod brought them to wherethey are today. In concert, they share how from thebeginning of their livestogether, the enemy tried todestroy them with fire butGod used that fire to weldthem together.

In 1997, Greg was giventhe wonderful opportunity towork for Dave RoeverMinistries. Dave Roever, aVietnam Vet who was severe-ly injured in the Vietnam War,held reconciliation rallies inVietnam and took Greg onone of these trips to leadworship for their chapelservices. Since then theBostocks have taken over 20trips to Vietnam and have aheart for the people of thatcountry coming to knowfreedom in Jesus Christ.

Now partnering withMission Vietnam, Heart &Soul raises funds at each oftheir concerts to send toVietnam to build churches inthat country. They are seizinga window of opportunity thatthe Communist governmenthas given the VietnameseChristians to now buildchurches above ground.

Heart & Soul’s concertsinclude a variety of their ownoriginal worship and con-temporary Christian songs aswell as a few well-knownworship songs. Theirrewrites of favorite 70’s rocktunes with new Christianlyrics are always a big hit. They encourage the body ofChrist with their personal tes-timonies and God’s Word.Being gifted videographers aswell, they present their musicand message with glimpses ofGod’s awesome creation thatthey have captured as theytravel. The concert is notended without an opportuni-ty for someone to come toknow salvation through JesusChrist.

In North America, theyearly observance ofHalloween amounts to amulti-billion-dollar industry, second only to Christmas...selling costumes, candy andfood items, party supplies, greeting cards, tours of so-called haunted houses, andother forms of entertain-ment. But what is the historyof this particular day? Thestory may surprise you.

FACT: It’s OldMore than two thousand

years ago, a people called theCelts (Kelts) lived in what arenow Ireland, Great Britain, and France. Among the Celticpeople was an elite intellec-tual class known as theDruids, who served as reli-gious priests, judges, law-makers, and scientists. Theyhad an elaborate pagan reli-gious festival, along with cer-tain rituals. Chief amongthese was the Fire Festivalcalled Samhain, observed atharvest time to mark theCeltic New Year. The Celts believed that on

this night the barrier betweenthe natural world and thesupernatural was removed, and the spirits of the deadwere able to move freelyamong human beings.Samhain was the mostsolemn and important nightin the Celtic year.

FACT: Christians had a PartAfter the Roman Catholic

Church brought Christianityto the Celtic peoples in theseventh century, some oftheir traditional folk customswere Christianized. In 835

A.D. Pope Gregory IV movedthe church’s “Feast of AllSaints” from the spring toNovember 1st to replace theobservance of Samhain.

All Saint’s Day, stillobserved today by manyChristians, honored believerswho had died. The nightbefore, which featured asacred vigil in church, became known as “AllHallow’s Eve,” or Halloween. But the old practices of theDruids died hard and weredenounced by the church aswitchcraft. This is howHalloween became known asa witch’s holiday.FACT: Today’s Customs areDifferent

Dressing in costumes andgoing door-to-door comesfrom a much later traditionin the British Isles, a practicenot restricted to Halloween.Masked players would gofrom house-to-house, puttingon a simple drama or musi-cal performance in return forfood and drink. Often theseperformances had Christianthemes.

The “Trick-or-Treat” cus-tom we know today is thor-oughly American in origin. Inthe nineteenth century, whenIrish and Scottish immigrantsbrought their Halloween tra-ditions to North America, thenight became an occasion forpranks and mischief.

Vandals would go throughthe night, soaping windows, overturning outhouses, andpulling gates from theirhinges. These pranks wereplayfully said to be the workof witches and ghosts, but bythe 1920s the joke wasn’tfunny anymore. The damageto neighborhoods wasmounting.

To counteract Halloweenvandalism, community clubslike the Boy Scouts began toorganize alternatives that aresafe and fun. Children wereencouraged to go door-to-

door and receive treats fromhomeowners and merchants, keeping the troublemakersaway. By the 1930s, the prac-tice was popular nationwide, and young voices crying,“Trick or Treat!” were echo-ing through neighborhoodstreets.

In this way, a combinationof pagan, Christian, and civicelements formed theHalloween celebration weknow today. In recentdecades, however, a renewedinterest in the old paganbeliefs has blossomed inNorth America.

Popular entertainment, including television showslike [“Twilight”], “Buffy: TheVampire Slayer,” and even“Sabrina, the TeenageWitch,” make occult themesand witchcraft seem fun andacceptable. The result is thatHalloween today has becomestrongly associated with theoccult and a preoccupationwith the dead—two influ-ences that Scripture and thechurch have always warnedagainst.

FACT: Evil is RealYou see, Satan is not a joke. He’s real. Though the Bibleclearly states that God is theworld’s highest authority, Hegave Satan a certain amountof power.

With God’s permission, theevil in this world is underSatan’s control.1 This is whythe apostle Paul said, “Forour struggle is not againstflesh and blood, but againstthe powers of this dark worldand against the spiritualforces of evil in the heavenlyrealms.”2

Satan was the first one inhistory to openly defy God.He also started a way of lifethat was self-centered andrejected God’s authority. Thatmarked the birth of sin, which is nothing more thanrebellion against God. Todaysin affects the entire humanrace. We are all guilty, and

therefore all deserve sin’spenalty. “For the wages of sinis death....”3

FACT: God Loves YouBut God loves you so

much that He sent His Son,Jesus, to pay the ultimatepenalty for your sins. “ForGod so loved the world thathe gave his one and only Son[to die], that whoeverbelieves in him shall not per-ish but have eternal life.”4

Satan was defeated whenJesus Christ came back to lifeafter first suffering and dyingas our substitute.5 Satan isdoomed. But you can escapethe punishment for your sins. You can receive God’s for-giveness and love by placingyour trust in the fact thatChrist died and rose againfor you.

Once you know the FACTS,you can act on them by pray-ing: “Loving God, I amguilty of rejecting You andliving my life without You. Iunderstand that is sin. Ibelieve Jesus bought my for-giveness when He sufferedand died on the cross in myplace. And I believe Heoffers me new life becauseHe rose again on my behalf.I accept Him now as mySavior. Amen.”1.I John 5:192.Ephesians 6:123.Romans 6:234.John 3:165.Colossians 1:13-22

I became interested in thepersecuted church in myearly teens and became aChristian soon afterward. After many years of servingthe persecuted churchthrough organizations closeto my home, my husband andI moved one thousand miles.I had been interested in themissions group, VisionBeyond Borders, and afterour move I was within driv-ing distance. I began to vol-unteer in the office and wasable to travel with them over-seas on several occasions, witnessing the tremendousneeds and delivering Biblesand supplies. Patrick Klein, the founder

and director of VisionBeyond Borders, has beeninvolved in missions for over24 years. He is committed tofulfilling the calling God hason his life to help fulfill theGreat Commission as statedby Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20. VBB has been helpingmeet peoples needs bothphysically and spiritually forover 14 years by hand deliv-ering Bibles, clothing, flannelgraphs, hand wind tape play-ers, medical supplies andseeds. They work with homesto rescue women from sex-

slavery, have built and sup-port Christian orphanagesand schools around theworld, and provide forrefugees fleeing the persecu-tion and genocide occurringin Burma.

It has been estimated that200 million Christians in 60countries are subject tointense persecution andmore Christians have died fortheir faith in the twentiethcentury than at any othertime in history. In Chinaalone over 30,000 peoplecome to Christ each day, andaccording to Voice of theMartyrs there is a twenty yearwait to get a Bible, leaving 75million Christians without theWord of God. Because of sta-tistics such as these, VBB iscommitted to bring theGospel into Muslim, commu-nist and closed countries.

So far VBB has deliveredmore than 750,000 Bibles intheir native language to thesecountries around the world.God told us when we findpeople hungry, we are to feedthem; when we find themnaked, we are to clothethem. Out of obedience, VBBalso meets the physical needsof people around the world. They deliver vegetable seeds,

provide emergency food andmedical supplies, and pro-vide clothing. VBB has alsobeen instrumental in severalwater well projects, provid-ing safe, clean drinking waterfor those who dared nothope for such a luxury.

Through the OdhareDrinking Water Project, 43Christian families were pro-vided water. The Hindu peo-ple of the area would notshare the water with thesepeople. Through this projectthe Christian families notonly were given drinkingwater, but had water to growvegetable seeds as well. Theywere provided income byselling the excess vegetables. They are tithing to the churchand God is blessing their vil-lage. A report has beenreceived that the Hindus whoformerly persecuted themare now Christians.

Whether it is clean, puredrinking water or the spiritu-al water which results in“thirsting no more” VBBseeks to serve the persecutedchurch and respond to needsas God directs. As they travelthe world, they are givingpeople hope and encourage-ment as they meet physicalneeds while sharing the loveof Christ through the Gospel.Vision Beyond Borders

It seems like a lifetime ago when the first Harry Potter book and movie captured the imag-ination of our youth as well as a many of their dollars. When Harry Potter was a phenomenasome Christians were expressing concern about our young people being attracted to the themeof witchcraft. Now Harry Potter is almost a distant memory and the books (Twilight series)by Stephanie Meyer focusing on vampires and werewolves are the current craze. Again,Christians are expressing concern about the attraction and influence of these books. This arti-cle will briefly consider how Scripture might guide our use of these materials.

There are twelve references to the subject of witchcraft in Strong’s concordance. Eventhough there are no references to the words werewolf or vampire, there are references in theBible about demon possessed individuals with supernatural strength and destructive behavior[a demon possessed man living among the graves (KJV Mark 5:2-6) and a child casting itselfinto the fire (KJV Matthew 17:15)]. The Scriptures on witches and witchcraft condemn thepractice as a form of idolatry in which the power of demons is utilized instead of the power ofthe Holy Spirit. These Scriptures verify that witchcraft, sorcery, and calling up the dead (necro-mancy) are all very real and exist through the Kingdom of Satan. Stories about humans becom-ing vampires and werewolves who turn into animals is pure fiction.

The principal fantasy of the Twilight series is about the love relationship between adoles-cent Bella and Edward the vampire who is a hundred years or so older than Bella by virtue ofvampire longevity. The development of these characters and their relationship is carefullyorchestrated by the author to build sexual tension and fantasy lust, which is mistaken for adeeper more satisfying love which is self sacrificing and edifies the person receiving it. Whensatisfying sexual lust becomes our objective we have abandoned the kingdom of God and areliving in the kingdom of Satan, guiding our decisions by his rules and subject to his lies. Satanpurposes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).

When we agree with Satan, we open a door point for Satan and his demons to influence oroppress our thinking, emotions, and behavior in those areas of our lives. This process ofallowing Satan through the door of our minds is described in Genesis 4:1-8 in the account ofCain and his brother Able. In verse seven God gave Cain this warning “sin lies at the door. Andits desire is for you, but you should rule over it.” Cain did not listen to God, he allowed sin torule over him, and in a jealous rage murdered his brother Able. Cain allowed Satan and hisdemons to oppress him through anger, bitterness, jealousy, and discouragement. Cain’sthoughts, emotions, and behavior were all under demonic influence when he murdered hisbrother.

However Jesus was anointed by God specifically for “healing all who were oppressed by thedevil” (Acts 10:38). Closing an entry point where we have allowed Satan into our mindsrequires confession, taking responsibility, and eliminating the demonic influence. A suggestedprayer to accomplish this as it might relate to the Twilight series: “Father God, I confess andtake responsibility for cooperating with Satan and accepting his distorted rules about loveinstead of the truth found in Your Word. I ask Your forgiveness in the name of Jesus and byHis precious blood. I cast away this demonic influence as far away from me as the east is fromthe west (Psalm 103:12, Matthew 3:8, Mark 16:17, I John 1:5-10).”

God graciously provides His Word through Jesus that we would be knowledgeable and dis-cerning about the strategies of Satan (Matthew 10:16, II Corinthians 2:11) in order to resistdemonic influence (James 4:7). Hollywood and those who write for Hollywood use the reali-ty of evil (witchcraft/the Harry Potter books) and fiction about evil (the Twilight series) toentertain us by evil having its way in our lives. This is in stark contrast to such literature as TheNarnia Chronicles by C.S. Lewis or the Lord of the Rings trilogy by Tolkien, which also enter-tain but which illustrate through fantasy the primary theme of the Gospel of Jesus Christ... thetriumph of good over evil.

Instead of being entertained by evil which produces momentary pleasure (II Timothy 3:4,Titus 3:3, James 4:1-4) I pray each of us would ask for wisdom (James 1:5) and then use it tomeditate on whatever things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report, the thingsin which we find virtue and are worthy of praise (Philippians 4:8-9).

JESUS gave His body and blood in exchange for our sins that we might have eternal life, while Satan would take our blood and condemn us to eternal slavery. Which will you choose?(Deuteronomy 30:19-20)BIO – Terry Trudel is a physician limiting his practice to Psychiatry. He completed his psychi-atric training at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1979. Preparing forDemocrat’s 2010General Election Antics

Ever since the advent of theObama Administration, and itssystematic corruption anddestruction of the nation’sconstitutional framework,Americans have fervently antic-ipated their opportunity toatone for their past sins by wayof the 2010 mid-term elec-tions. That season is now uponus. As primary election racesare concluded across thenation, and candidates headinto the general election cycle,a drastic sea change can beexpected in the conduct ofpolitical contests, as well astheir coverage by the media. For starters, calling Barack

Obama “radioactive” might bea bit slanderous of those whoconstruct dirty bombs. Seizingany opportunity to degradeand impugn America and itsallies, while groveling andbowing to almost every tinhorndictator he meets, Obama hasthoroughly alienated all butthe most ardent anti-Americanleftists. Those who have anybelief in this country’s noblehistory, and hold out any hopefor its future, must by nowrealize that Obama’s ultimategoal is to erode and under-mine the nation, both intern-ally and in its standing amongthe rest of the world. While his plan has taken a

huge toll on his former popu-larity among other heads ofstate, he has fared far worseamong the American public.Twenty straight months of fed-eral power grabs and congres-sional spending that dwarfsformer deficits, underscoredby an official contempt anddisdain towards any whowould demand accountabilityand responsibility, have left theAmerican people convincedthat their government inWashington has mutated into ahorrific monster, the actions ofwhich must be arrested imme-diately if the nation is to haveeven the smallest hope for itssurvival. It is therefore to be fully

expected that Democrat candi-dates will consistently sidestepany real discussion of theissues of concern to America. No politically savvy Democratwill want to recall all of thosevirtues of Obamacare thatwere trumpeted so relentlesslylast spring. The bill is passed, and if everything goes accord-ing to (Democrat) plan, itsinnumerable edicts will beslyly and stealthily implement-ed over the upcoming yearswhile an unwary public loses

interest to a sufficient extentthat nobody notices how dras-tically their once unrivaledquality of medical care hasbeen perverted and degraded.

The last thing Democratswant to do during this electioncycle is debate the supposedmerits of socialism, weighedagainst its all-too-real histori-cal pitfalls. While every social-ist scheme throughout theworld has been instituted on afoundation of lavish and utopi-an promises, the ugliness of itsreality is never slow in mani-festing itself.

Promises of economicequality and “social justice”quickly devolve into near-uni-versal poverty. Likewise, assur-ances of collective paradiseundergirded with “free” andcomprehensive healthcare justas quickly devolve into a night-mare of bureaucratic entangle-ments, out-of-control taxation, and drastic rationing measureswhich deprive citizens of basicmedical needs in a futile effortto maintain “universal access”while struggling to rein in bur-geoning costs.Nor will Democrats be any

more willing to confront thenation’s dire economic straits, despite the increasingly hollowand defensive claims thateverything is “Bush’s fault.”Having enjoined the economicturmoil in 2008, they onlyexacerbated its downfall withmassive government spendingwhich, aside from padding thepockets of bloated bureaucra-cies at the national, state, andlocal levels, has done nothingto improve output or prosper-ity among average citizens. On the cultural front, things

may be even worse for theDemocrats, if that is possible. The recent abomination ofBarack Obama endorsing theconstruction of a Mosque atGround Zero has not only out-raged Americans on its ownmerits, it has also remindedthem of the many occasions inwhich he clearly showed def-erence to anti-American andanti-Western cultures andphilosophies, while demean-ing the greatness of traditionalAmerica. On this basis he castigates

Israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu for erect-ing mere dwellings inJerusalem, since doing somight “offend” those who hateIsrael and the Jewish people. He countermands protocoltowards America’s long stand-ing allies by dispensing with

any signs of respect towardstheir leaders, while bowingand toadying before despoticrulers who clearly harborantipathy towards this nation. So, with no real standing on

the economy, internationalrelations, or homeland securi-ty (all of which are inextricablylinked), Democrats have nogood options for a proactivepolitical plan going into theNovember elections. They can-not run on either their pastrecord or their real agenda ifthey are to have any hopes ofavoiding the electoral drub-bing that now seemsinevitable. Therefore, their very pre-

dictable strategy will be toavoid current policy and sub-stantive issues at all costs, while attempting to incite andconcoct “scandal,” based onany slight infraction by aRepublican candidate, or tofabricate one from thin air ifnecessary, and center theentire remainder of the cam-paign on nothing more thanthat. Remember the “Macaca”hysterics that were used to tor-pedo the candidacy of GeorgeAllen, the RepublicanSenatorial hopeful fromVirginia? Or the indictment of then

House Majority Whip TomDelay (R.-TX), which evapo-rated into thin air once he wasdrubbed out of office, and onwhich Nancy Pelosi (D.-CA)based her infamous“Republican culture of cor-ruption” accusation?

Neither of these episodesheld any merit, yet both wererelentlessly invoked to dis-credit the GOP, ultimatelyempowering Pelosi to takeover as the ultra-liberalSpeaker of the House, alongwith Harry Reid (D.-NV) asSenate Majority Leader. In theabsence of a liberal platformwhich they might be willing toopenly and honestly discuss(doing so would deal a fatalblow to it), they can be expect-ed to create, and then franti-cally focus on all sorts ofRepublican bogeymen andhobgoblins to once againfrighten voters into their cor-ner.But it is going to be far more

difficult this time around. Incontrast to small-scale person-al scandals among theRepublicans, Democrats areentangled in corruption on aninstitutional scale. Even the fla-grant graft by RepresentativesMaxine Waters (D.-CA) and

Charlie Rangel (D.-NY) palein comparison to the squan-dered billions of taxpayerdollars and total lack ofaccountability of the currentDemocrat controlledCongress, as well as theirravaging of the U.S.Constitution and the rule oflaw, on which no price tagcould be applied.

In this volatile politicalenvironment, a concertedRepublican effort to remainfocused on the issues maywell deal the much neededdeath blow to Democrathopes of remaking Americain their twisted image. Wecan only hope.

The Christian BusinessNetworking Group

By Chrissy French “Miss Market”, Masonville, Colorado

The Christian Business Networking Group started from aprogram at Crossroads Church of Loveland called “WinterVentures.” Winter Ventures was created to help get peopletogether in small groups in which they have a similar interest.Different people signed up to be group leaders in different cat-egories such as fly tying, sushi making, trail running, bookclubs, etc. Members at the church sign up for the differentgroups and then they all meet up at different times and loca-tions. It is a WONDERFUL idea and a great way to get peopleinvolved with the church and make them feel like they havefriends and a closer connection to others.

I started thinking of a way that I could contribute to theevent and areas where I could be of help. I am a member of alot of different business networking groups and love getting toknow other business people and collecting contacts to help mybusiness grow. What better way to get others in the churchmore acquainted with each other than a networking group!!

We had many business people sign up and come to the firstmeeting. It helped a few people make new friends in thechurch and feel more welcome and at home (one of which wasbaptized just a few weekends ago!!) We shared informationabout ourselves and our businesses. We also share a little bitabout our faith and how we try to keep Jesus in our work andhow we do our jobs. We have a speaker and a small Bible studyat every meeting. I recently added the group to Meetup.comand am getting a very good response!! We meet the firstMonday of every month at 11:00 am at The Baja Fish Co. 119E.4th St. Loveland, Colorado.

I so very much enjoy being around all of the positive energythat the group brings. I enjoy getting closer to other Christiansand learning more about them and their business. It is anamazing group of people and I encourage everyone to comeand be a part of it! Wyoming’s SovereigntyUnder AttackHomosexual Activists File Federal Lawsuit to Impose Radical SocialExperiment

CHEYENNE, WY – WyWatch Family Action has just learned thata federal lawsuit has been filed against Wyoming, attacking thelaw that protects marriage as the union of one man and onewoman. The lawsuit declares the definition of marriage as ithas been for the entire history of Western Civilization to be inconflict with the U.S. Constitution.

“We are asking Wyomingites to not be fooled,” said BeckyVandeberghe, President of WyWatch. “This is not aboutupholding the U.S. Constitution, but about demanding that fed-eral judges impose the extremism of a few on America, andnow Wyoming families. The men who filed this lawsuit knowthat if decisions about our families are left to the people ofWyoming, their radical agenda is stopped every time.Wyomingites are capable of governing ourselves, and theunelected federal judges should not be deciding these impor-tant issues for us.”

Vandeberghe continued, “Men and women are fundamen-tally different, but these radical activists want a federal court todeclare that Wyoming law must pretend as if there’s no differ-ence between men and women. As we just saw in California, this lawsuit seeks to declare that mothers are irrelevant for thefamily and, most importantly, for children. I doubt that toomany mothers would agree that their presence makes no dif-ference to their children.”

Marriage celebrates diversity by bringing together the twohalves of humanity for a unique social good. No matterwhether husband and wife are of different races, of differentreligions, or of different political affiliation, their union isimportant to society in ways that no other relationship is ableto duplicate. For homosexual activists to pretend as if we’re aunisex species where neither men and nor women makeunique contributions to society and to families is a radicaldeparture from reality and common sense that no one shouldembrace and a judge cannot be permitted to impose.

WyWatch Family Action is a state pro-family advocacygroup that promotes and supports legislation that sustains con-stitutional rights, upholds Judeo-Christian values on which thenation was founded, protects innocent life from conception tonatural death, preserves the rights of parents to raise anddetermine the education of their children, and maintains theinstitution of marriage as being between one man and onewoman. WyWatch Family Action UpdateBecky Vandeberghe

This Boise rally was held in conjunction with Glenn Beck’sRestoring Honor Rally in Washington, DC to benefit the SpecialOperations Warrior Foundation.

Several hundred people gathered at Julia Davis Band Shell at10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 28th, for some inspiration toremind us that hope lies ahead when we are united on theprincipals that bind us together as citizens of this great nation! The principals of freedom that are so strongly rooted in faith, honor and duty, as were so profoundly demonstrated by ourFounding Fathers. Everyone was encouraged to bring theirfamily, friends, and neighbors for an inspiring message of hopefor the future of our country!

The “Restoring Honor” portion of this year’s two-themedrally was to help everyday American citizens learn again (orperhaps for the first time) what it really means to “be anAmerican”, and how special that is, how important it is to pro-tect it, and how frighteningly close we are to losing it! It allstarts with a good understanding of what it means to be “hon-orable” and who represents that better than the military and“right-minded”, constitutionally sound law enforcement? Thisis the direction being promoted by Glenn Beck this summer, torestore honor within ourselves first... in order to show byexample to our children and others what conduct is desired ofour leaders in government and elsewhere.

The second part of their theme is “Defending Liberty”, withkeynote speaker Sheriff Richard Mack. If you’re not familiarwith his story, take time to learn about it at his website:www.sheriffmack.com. As the former Sheriff of Graham County,Arizona, he championed a lawsuit against the ClintonAdministration to defeat the unconstitutional threat to the 2ndamendment through an unfunded mandate to enforce theBrady Bill... AND HE WON!! The Supreme Court decision in hiscase included a landmark ruling in support of states rights, theproper role of the federal government, and the authority oflocal law enforcement. Since his retirement, Sheriff Mack hasbeen traveling the country to spread this news about statesrights, and individual liberty!

For more information visit www.912projectidaho.com.IMCNews Publisher note: I was able to attend this great

inspirational event. The United States of America’s honorcan only be restored by returning to the truth promoted bythe Biblical JESUS (no other faith can make America a greatnation!) Statement of FaithIntermountain Christian News is nondenominational in attitude and emphasis.

We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. We believe in one God, eternally existent in three

persons, - FATHER, Son (JESUS), and The HOLY SPIRIT. The Bible is the totally sufficient resource for learning how to live a Godly life.

We believe in the virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, His sinless life, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascen-

sion to the right hand of God the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that only God The Son (Jesus) is the mediator between man and God The Father and The Holy Spirit. Jesus alone can save

us from our sins, permit people entrance into Heaven, and is the only Savior and hope. Only a personal relationship with Jesus will bring

true healing to people.

We believe that only Jesus is to be regarded as our spiritual Teacher and Father. We do not look to ungodly counselors for wisdom.

We believe our salvation is by grace through faith, in His shed blood, which is evident through our works.

We believe that Humans are a special creation of God and not as a result of evolution.

We believe in the sanctity of life and therefore oppose abortion and euthanasia.

We believe only in the Biblical view of marriage which is between one man and one woman.

We trust in JESUS to give us wisdom, courage, strength and protection from evil.

We believe that it is our Christian duty to express our faith as a witness for Jesus in all matters public and private.

Dear friends, let us loveone another, for lovecomes from God. Everyone

who loves has been born ofGod and knows God.Whoever does not love doesnot know God, becauseGod is love. This is howGod showed his loveamong us: He sent his oneand only Son into theworld that we might livethrough him. This is love:not that we loved God, butthat he loved us and senthis Son as an atoning sac-rifice for our sins. Dearfriends, since God so lovedus, we also ought to loveone another. No one hasever seen God; but if welove one another, God livesin us and his love is madecomplete in us.

We love because he firstloved us.

LAYTON, UT – On August 6-8, Baptist students and theiradult leaders from across Utah and Idaho descended on theDavis Conference Center in Layton, UT for an annual eventcalled Sonfest.

This year, over 575 teens and adults experienced dynam-ic worship, challenging messages, and creative art over thethree days of this event all around the theme, “Make anImpact” based on Matthew 5:16, Let your light so shinebefore men, that they may see your good works and glo-rify your Father in heaven.

Worship was facilitated by the Tim Johnson Band (tjbministries.com), a vibrant group of young adults that are pas-sionate about leading worshipers into an authenticencounter with God. Based out of Atlanta, GA, these fiveleaders have made several trips out to Utah on missiontours for the past two years, leading in youth camps andsinging in churches, but this was their first time taking themain stage at Sonfest. Their ministry is a faith based mission that is funded on

T-Shirt sales and production in their ministry called“Tees4Missions”. Prior to leading for Sonfest, the band didmission work and worshiped at an orphanage in ChaingMai, Thailand. The band was able to share of their experi-ences with the students as a challenge for them to step outin faith and go make an impact in hard places, if that is whatGod is calling them to do.

On Friday night, in lieu of a traditional “speaker”, stu-dents were treated to a creative demonstration from Wadeand Jennifer Burliegh of First Century Ministries (firstcenturyministries.com). Dressed in biblical costume, Wade usesfirst century craftsmanship and tools of the trade to carvefrom wood, clay, and blacksmith iron, to weave the messageof the Gospel into a beautiful demonstration of creative arts.

Wade crafts while Jennifer speaks about the tools herhusband is using and how they relate to biblical lessonsright out of God’s word. On this night, Wade carved an intri-cately detailed head of a lamb from a lump of clay whileJennifer shared about the qualities of sheep and shepherdsas found in Scripture throughout the Old and NewTestament.

This led to a transition into the “Lamb of God who tookaway the sins of the world”. This powerful message made animpact on the students as eighteen young people came for-ward following the presentation and made their first timeprofession of faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

On Saturday and Sunday mornings, students were chal-lenged in message by Chuck Johnson (brother of bandleader, Tim). These messages were relevant to topics teensare struggling with in today’s modern world and gave hope

that they, too, could impact that world for Christ rather thanletting the world influence them away from their dailyChristian walk. On Sunday morning, the message centeredon the story of the twelve spies who scouted the PromisedLand in the Old Testament. As a result of this challenge, eight students accepted a call into full time vocational min-istry and several other students came forward to speak withleaders about rededicating their life to the Lordship ofChrist.

Contact information from the students who came forwardto speak with adult leaders was immediately followed up onbefore the students left the weekend event. Representativesfrom each of the many churches in attendance were givenreports on the students in their group who made decisions. The week following Sonfest, pastors and youth leaders ofeach of those churches were mailed copies of the students’decision cards. Then each student was mailed a letter con-gratulating them on their decision and they were encour-aged to follow up their decision with a discussion with theirchurch pastor. They were also mailed applicable follow-upmaterial that they can use that related to their decision.

On Saturday, as has been the tradition for over fourteenyears, the students and adults descended on LagoonAmusement Park in Farmington, UT. Wearing their brightpurple Sonfest T-Shirts, students were given an opportunityto put into practice lessons discussed during the event.

They ride, play, and eat among the many who visit thepark that day, but central to their calling is a challenge tomake a positive impact for Christ while they interact withthe world around them at the park. Students are given animmediate opportunity to share their faith and give onlook-ers a positive impression of how Christians should behavein their interaction with a lost world. This is a highlight tothe weekend.

In all, the weekend was an incredible success and plansare already underway for the spring event in Burley, Idahocalled Ski & Share where students will have three days ofmessages and one day of skiing and snowboarding in themountains at Pomerelle Ski Resort, March 18-20, 2011.

For more information about these and other events, visitthe website of the Utah Idaho Southern Baptist Conventionat www.uisbc.org or search for “Utah/Idaho Youth” onFacebook. We are a convention of Southern Baptist church-es that have chosen to cooperate with one another in orderto share Jesus Christ with the world.

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t knowwhere you are going, so how can we know theway?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and thetruth and the life. No one comes to the Fatherexcept through me. If you really knew me, youwould know my Father as well. From now on,you do know him and have seen him.”– John 14:5-6

What motivates funda-mental Muslims to violence?Much effort has gone intoanswering this. Muslim apol-ogists are quick to point outChristians have also commit-ted violence. Secularists

suggest anybody who believes in God is prone to violence, conveniently ignoring the atheistic killings of the FrenchRevolution, Stalin's purges and Mao Tse-tung’s CulturalRevolution. In an attempt to uncover motivations, founders of the

world's two largest religions can be compared. According tothe www.CIA.gov World Factbook, the world’s 6.5 billion peo-ple are 33.32 percent Christian and 21.01 percent Muslim. If a computer acts up, the technician resets it to the default

settings it had when it left the factory. If followers of a religionact up, one should examine the default settings the religionhad when it left its founder. One can examine the life of Jesus from the four Gospels. One can examine the life of Muhammad from the Qur’an,

Hadith and sources like the Sirat Rasul Allah. The Qur’an is a collection of private revelations Muhammad

received between A.D. 610-632. Conflicting versions werepassed down orally until Caliph Uthman standardized themaround A.D. 650.The Hadith are stories about Muhammad passed down

orally until Caliph Umar II began collecting them around A.D.717-720.The Sirat Rasul Allah, or “The Life of the Prophet of Allah”

was written by Ibn Ishaq between A.D. 707-773 and preservedin copies by Ibn Hisham (d. 833) and al-Tabari (838-923). In1861, Sir William Muir published an English translation, “TheLife of Mahomet.” Edward Rehatsek’s translation, edited byMichael Edwardes, was presented to the Royal Asiatic Societyof London in 1898. Oxford University published AlfredGuillaume's translation in 1955.A review of these resources reveal:– Jesus was a religious leader.– Muhammad was religious leader and a military leader.– Jesus never killed anyone.– Muhammad killed an estimated 3,000 people, including

beheading 700 Jews of the Banu Qurayza tribe in Medina,A.D. 627: “The Jews surrendered and the apostle confinedthem in Medina… Then the apostle went out to the market…and dug trenches in it. Then he sent for them and struck offtheir heads in those trenches as they were brought out to himin batches... There were 600 or 700 in all, though some putthe figure as high as 800 or 900. As they were being taken outin batches to the apostle they asked Ka’b what he thoughtwould be done with them. He replied, ‘Will you never under-stand? Don’t you see that the summoner never stops andthose who are taken away do not return? By Allah it is death!’This went on until the apostle made an end of them.” (SiratRasul Allah)– Jesus never owned slaves.– Muhammad received a fifth of the prisoners taken in bat-

tle, including women. (Sura 8:41)

"Muhammad gave command and the heads of the two chiefswere severed from their bodies. The scene of torture andbloodshed was hardly ended when Muhammad sent Bilal tofetch the wife of Kinana... He cast his mantle around her intoken that she was to be his own.” (Conquest of Khaybar, A.D.628, Sirat Rasul Allah)“The apostle occupied the Jewish forts… taking prisoners

as he went. Among these were Safiya, the wife of Kinana…The apostle chose Safiya for himself. The other prisonerswere distributed among the Muslims.” (Sirat Rasul Allah)“Married women are forbidden unto you, except those

whom your right hands possess (taken in battle.)” (Sura 4:24)– Jesus never married.– Muhammad had many wives.“Anas said, ‘The prophet used to visit all his wives in an

hour round, during the day and night and they were 11 in num-ber.’ I asked Anas, ‘Had the prophet the strength for it?’ Anasreplied, ‘We used to say that the prophet was given thestrength of 30 (men).’” (Hadith Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 1, Bk. 5,No. 268)“Muhammad said: ‘Woman can be married for religion, her

fortune, or her beauty. So marry one for the religion.’” (AbuIssa al-Tarmidi, Sunan al-Tarmidi, Medina n.d., p.275, B: 4,H:1092)

“Prophet, we have made lawful to you… the slave girlswhom Allah has given you as booty.” (Sura 33:50)When Muhammad’s behavior is reviewed, Muslim scholars

point out that King David was also a prophet yet he killed peo-ple, owned slaves and had many wives. The response is still that Jesus never killed anyone, never

owned slaves and never married. David only wanted a smallpiece of land – there is no Bible command for Jews to subduethe world.– Jesus never forced followers to continue believing. After

Jesus made a difficult saying, “many of his disciples went backand walked no more with him. Then Jesus said to the twelve,‘Will ye also go away?’ Then Simon Peter answered him,‘Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternallife.’” (John 6:31-69)

– Muhammad forced followers to continue believing,“Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.” (Hadithal-Bukhari, Vol. 9, Bk. 84, No. 57)– Jesus taught God was our Father (Matthew 6:6).– Muhammad taught it was blasphemy to call Allah your

father (Sura 5:18)– Jesus taught man was made in God’s image. (Matthew

22:20, ref. Gen. 1:26-27, 9:6)– Muhammad taught Allah has no image. (Sura 42:11, Sura

112:4)– Jesus taught “forgive those who trespass against you.”

(Matthew 6:10-15)– Muhammad taught to avenge trespasses against your

honor, family or religion.“Narrated Anas bin Malik: ‘On the day of the Conquest, the

Prophet entered Mecca, wearing a helmet on his head. Whenhe took it off, a man came and said, “Ibn Khatal is clinging tothe curtain of the Ka’ba.” The Prophet said, “Kill him.”’” (HadithSahih al-Bukhari Vol. 5, Book 59, No. 582)“Ibn Khatal... had two slave girls who used to sing for him

and for his companions songs full of abuse of the Prophet. The Prophet's instructions specified that the two slave girlsshould also be killed… Another (to be killed) was al-HuwayrithNuqaydh Wahb Qusayy, one of those who used to insult himin Mecca.” (Sirat Rasul Allah)– Jesus did not retaliate when violence was committed

against him, saying “Father, forgive them.” (Luke 23:34)– Muhammad retaliated when violence was committed

against him, ordering the death of his enemies.“Muhammad sent Abdullah to use diplomacy to gain an

opportunity to assassinate Sofyan. Abdullah went forth, pre-tending to be on his Sofyan’s side, and when the moment wasright, cut off his head. He carried it to Muhammad, who was inthe Mosque in Medina. Muhammad was so gratified, he gavethe assassin his staff, saying: ‘This shall be a token betwixtyou and me on the day of resurrection. Verily, few on that dayshall have anything to lean upon.’” (Sirat Rasul Allah).“Ibn Sa’d Tabaqat reported: ‘The apostle of Allah entered

through Adhakhir into Mecca… He ordered six men and fourwomen to be killed.” (Kitab al-Tabaqat, written by Ibn Sa’d(A.D. 745-845), Vol. 2, p. 168.)– Following Jesus was voluntary, from the inside out.– Following Muhammad could be coerced, from the outside

in.“Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor

hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah andHis Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even ifthey are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyawith willing submission and feel themselves subdued.” (Sura9:29)– A martyr in Christian and Jewish thought is one who dies

for his faith.– A martyr in Islamic thought is one who dies for his faith

while killing infidels.“Narrated Abu Huraira: ‘The Prophet said, “The person who

participates in (holy battles) in Allah’s cause and nothing com-pels him to do so except belief in Allah and His Apostles, willbe recompensed by Allah either with a reward or booty (if hesurvives) or will be admitted to Paradise (if he is killed in thebattle as a martyr).”’” (Hadith Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 1, Bk. 2,No. 35)– Christianity teaches God wants a personal relationship

with each individual.– Islam teaches individuals cannot have a personal rela-

tionship with Allah, as he is transcendent and unknowable.– Jesus’ religion is known for forgiveness and love.– Muhammad’s religion is known for obedience and fear.– None of Jesus’ Apostles led armies. A village did not

receive Jesus “and when his disciples James and John sawthis, they said, ‘Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to comedown from heaven and consume them, even as Elias did?’ Buthe turned and rebuked them, and said, ‘Ye know not whatmanner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come todestroy men’s lives, but to save them.’” (Luke 9:52-56)– All of the caliphs who followed Muhammad led armies.

(Caliphs Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali, Muawiyya, theUmayyads, the Abbasids, etc.)– In the first 300 years of Christianity, there were 10 major

Roman persecutions, and Christians were fed to lions in theColosseum. Never did Christians lead an armed resistanceagainst those who attacked them.– In the first 300 years of Islam, Muslim armies conquered

Arabia, Persia, the Holy Land, North Africa, Spain, SouthernFrance, Central Africa, and invaded vast areas of Asia andAsia Minor.

Fighting is inconsistent with Jesus’ example but notMuhammad’s, as the Sirat Rasul Allah records Muhammadpersonally led 27 raids.Jesus’ teaching on how to treat enemies:– Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good

to them that hate you, pray for them which despitefully useyou (Matthew 5:44).– Resist not evil (Matthew 5:39).– If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to them the

other (Matthew 5:39).– If someone takes your coat, give them your shirt (Matthew

5:40).– If someone makes you carry something one mile, carry it

two (Matthew 5:41).– Forgive and you shall be forgiven (Matthew 6:14).– Judge not, that ye be not judged (Matthew 7:1).– Blessed are the peacemakers (Matthew 5:9).– Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy

(Matthew 5:7).– Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt not kill, but I

say who ever is angry with his brother is in danger of the judg-ment (Matthew 5:21-22).– Treat others the same way you want them to treat you

(Luke 6:27-36).– Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick, whatev-

er you do to the very least you have done unto me (Matthew25:40).Muhammad's teaching on how to treat enemies:– Infidels are your sworn enemies (Sura 4:101).– Be ruthless to the infidels (Sura 48:29).– Make war on the infidels who dwell around you (Sura

9:123, 66:9).– Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day

(Sura 9:29).– Strike off the heads of infidels in battle (Sura 47:4).– If someone stops believing in Allah, kill him (al-Bukhari

9:84:57).– Take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends

(Sura 5:51, 60:13).– Never be a helper to the disbelievers (Sura 28:86).– Kill the disbelievers wherever we find them (Sura 2:191).– No Muslim should be killed for killing an infidel (al-Bukhari

1:3:111).– The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and

His messenger will be that they will be killed or crucified, orhave their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will beexpelled out of the land (Sura 5:33).What motivates fundamental Muslims to violence? Where

Jesus was a religious leader, Muhammad was a religiousleader and a military leader, thus the effort to separate the mil-itant aspect of Islam from the religious aspect is an attempt tosplit Muhammad.

The closer one follows the example of Jesus, the morepeaceful is one’s motivation.

The closer one follows example of Muhammad, the moremilitant is one’s motivation.

P R O - L I F E I N F O R M AT I O NChurch fights for right tobear armsCharlie Butts – OneNewsNow.com

As it is legal in Georgia to carry a gun only in a church park-ing lot – not in the church – some supporters of bearing armsare working to have that law changed.

The Baptist Tabernacle of Thomaston and GeorgiaCarry.orgasked for an injunction to bar enforcement of a law that bansguns in churches. But Jerry Henry, who heads the gun-rightsadvocacy group, reports that “the judge would not grant theinjunction, but he did say that he would move forth with thelawsuit, which was, in our mind, a good idea.”

Henry explains that the problem is the church does not haveprivate property rights like an individual does. “If you come tomy property and have a gun, and I tell you I don’t want it onthere, then you have to leave. The church doesn’t have thatoption,” he laments. “The church is off limits, and if you carrythere, you will be arrested.”He thinks lawmakers seem to haveforgotten incidents in which gunmen have entered houses ofworship and killed people, including "Martin Luther King'smother, [who] was shot in a church here in Atlanta."
