Segregation options include separate bins for paper and

card, glass, food and general waste. We evaluate the most

suitable segregation options based on the individual

requirements of each business.

We produce bespoke recycling reports to show how each

customers' waste is recycled and the carbon offset from

diverting waste from landfill.

Commencing January 2015, all businesses who do not already

segregate their waste are now required to introduce separate

collections of recyclables when “technically, environmentally

and economically practical” ('TEEP').

We can help you to evaluate the quantities of waste streams that you

produce and which segregation options would be the most cost-effective for

B&M Waste StationWe can provide dedicated food waste bins with a ‘collect and

swap’ service: on collection, your bin will be replaced with a clean,

sanitised one. This helps to eliminate odours, save maintenance

and maintain biosecurity.

Our latest innovation, the B&M Waste Station allows

our customers with large quanitities of food waste

such as schools, hospitals, hotels and restaurants to

minimise the volume of food waste and the number of

collections required. This not only provides cost-

efficiencies, but also minmises envionmental impact.

Once collected, food waste is separated and is

turned into renewable energy and fertilisers using

industry-leading anaerobic digestion. This reduces

both carbon footprint and costs, as it diverts all food

waste from landfill.

Refuse Derived Fuel B&M Waste Services is committed to achieving ‘zero landfill’ and with our own Refuse Derived

Fuel (RDF) facility in Trafford Park, more and more of our customers are achieving 100%

diversion from landfill. We work with like-minded suppliers across the UK who also strive to use

RDF technology wherever possible.

Non-recyclables are processed in our RDF facility and transported to a combined

heat and power facility where they are used to generate electricity and steam for

heating systems.

B&M Waste Monitor The B&M Waste Monitor is ideal for multi-user facilities. It

weighs the waste as it is tipped, and allocates each waste

container to an individual tenant or user via the robust ID tags

on each bin. This makes apportioning costs to specific users

much easier.

As members of the British Institue of Facilities Management,

we recognise that each business requires a different

approach and offer tailored options to ensure our service is

right for each particular customer.

We are currently implementing bespoke compactor

technology for many of our customers. We have developed

the B&M Waste Monitor, which is a unique system that

measures the weight and quantity of waste of each bin, using

a robust tagging system. This enables Building Managers to

create bespoke invoices and environmental reports for

individual tenants.

financial district. Working with B&M they have intorduced

a total waste managment scheme at the site.

B&M performed a full site audit and advised on improvments

that could make waste disposal more efficient. The solution

focused on segregation of recyclables with the introduction of

compactors on site which reduced the number of collections

needed. B&M also provided full equipment and segregation

training for the building tenants and employees. Working in

partnership to implement this total waste management

solution has resulted in an 89% recycling figure for 110

Bishopsgate. This figure can be found on their monthly

environmental report, which also details the amount of

carbon saved in terms of number of trees and

Sectors

Distribution

Distribution companies have unique requirements in relation to recycling of packaging

materials. Packaging is re-used where possible and where not, recycled. Internal logistics

are a strong consideration, and we work with our customers to locate containers and

maneuver waste around vast facilities efficiently. We work in partnership to resolve

packaging and repackaging recycling issues, as well as returned items (including WEEE)

recycling to recover as many materials as possible.

Manufacturing

In manufacturing, we are making industry-leading progress and now have the ability to

recycle PP Long Glass Fibre and separate twin and triple polymers, maximising revenue and

recycling figures for our customers.

Our recycling partners have expertise in separating reusable, valuable thermoplastic

material from contaminate. This service includes multi-layer separation, electro-static, paint

removal and optical sorting.

Our aim is to achieve not only zero waste to landfill but a closed loop recycling

strategy. Many of our manufacturing companies have now achieved or almost

achieved this goal.

Education

With many prestigious Schools, Universities and colleges as customers of ours, we have a

wealth of understanding about the approach required to obtain effective buy-in of

reduction and recycling of waste streams.

We offer assistance by supporting

environmental days and re-use events,

the target audience, to further

encourage recycling and improve

environmental performance.

Parrs Wood High School are achieving over

85% recycling levels and saving a further

133 Tonnes of CO2 due to the introduction

of 25 internal recycling bins, containers and

a skip for metals.

Retail

Our retail customers have varied requirements, often possessing multi-tenanted complexes,

for which we have introduced our latest technology - B&M Waste Monitor. This individually

barcodes each tenant bin and each time a bin is returned to the on-site compactor it is

weighed and content weight is calculated. Telemetry technology then allows individual bills

for tenants relative to the weight of their waste, which in turn encourages those producing

heavy bins to review and recycle more.

Healthcare

We understand the pressure on healthcare organisations to remain compliant on a

tight budget. While helping these customers to reduce costs and landfill waste, we

also increase their recycling rates.

We reduce costs by evaluating the clinical

waste that is sent for incineration. Often,

the NHS dispose of offensive waste along

with clinical waste. Segregating this saves

a significant amount of money and lessens

your environmental impact.

Award winning Aintree University Hospital

are achieving over 80% recycling levels due

to the introduction of general waste

compactors, a bespoke waste compound

and a confidential document shredding

service.

Food Waste Producers

If you produce large quantities of food waste, we will work with you to ensure you receive the

best possible rebate for co-product animal feed whilst ensuring compliance by organising

and conducting FEMAS audits.

For food waste containing animal by-products, we can implement our B&M Waste Station

that removes the moisture from the food by up to 80%, thus future proofing your business

against rising waste costs and improving your carbon footprint. Then by utilising anaerobic

digestion, we are able to effectively process huge amounts of food waste for re-use,

rather than landfill.
