Organized

Mini Marathon/ Rally: Run for Unity, Safety & Security


This occasion provides us an opportunity to reaffirm the inherent strength and resilience

of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of

our country. This event will convey the message of Unity, Safety and Security to all College &

University students. In this event, students across the University would carry this message for further

propagation. They will act as Unity, Safety, and Security Ambassadors.

The students & staffs able to appreciate the importance of the synergistic effort leading them

to appreciate that in human activities the effect of joint effort is more than the sum total of the

individual efforts. The Students & all staff members (Teaching and Non-Teaching) of Shivaji

University were involved in spreading the message about National Unity, Safety and Security.

Activities: The following activities were organized by Shivaji University, Kolhapur :

1. 1. Run for Unity:

As per previous instructions at

09:00 am all college and University

students arrived in Krantivan - memorial of

martyr, gate no. 8 from Shivaji University,

Kolhapur. Which was starting venue of the

Rally: Run for Unity. More than 2000

students and staff members of Shivaji

University participated in the Unity Rally.

The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. N.

J. Pawar inaugurated the Rally at 09:15 am

and Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. N. J.

Pawar , Pro Vice- Chancellor Prof. Dr. A.

S. Bhoite, Registrar Dr. D. V. Muley,

Finance & Accounts Officer & Controller

of Examination & Director Students

Welfare Prof. Dr. D. K. Gaikwad and other

dignitaries participated in the : Rally :Run

for Unity.

2. 2. Street Play about National Unity :

This part of rally the various college

students have street play to convey the

message of importance of unity in

sustaining any work such as keeping

public places clean.

3.Photo poojan:

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. N. J.

Pawar & other dignitaries paid tribute to

the photos of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel &

former Prime Minister Smt. Indira

Gandhi by offering flowers.

4. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge: After

2 to 3 km rally Program including street

play, slogans of National Unity, Safety

and security spreading massage to

community. all Students from Kolhapur

city colleges & various departments of

Shivaji University & all Staffs of Shivaji

University have taken Rashtriya Ekta

Diwas Pledge and Cleanliness pledge

under mission ‘‘Swachh Bharat’’ which

is part of University taking cleanliness

drive since 2nd

October, 2014.
