Forum Training and Technical Assistance (TTA)

• Provides access to technical assistance from experts across multiple federal agencies and, perhaps even more importantly, connects communities with each other to share information about successful local models.

• To strengthen local partnerships, improve coordination, and increase adherence to data driven practices, programs, and policies.

Forum TTA

• Must be directly related to the site’s Plan

• Should enhance local capacity

• Must be based in evidence or best practice

Types of TTA • Evaluating and sustaining your existing Plan• Forming and maintaining coalitions and collaborations • Conducting strategic planning with multiple agencies• Addressing organizational changes such as staff turnover and funding

shifts• Listening to/engaging communities hard hit by crime• Engaging families and youth in decision making• Promising prevention, intervention, and/or enforcement strategies• Using data effectively• Information sharing• Using outreach workers in gang prevention and intervention• Community-oriented policing strategies• Trainings on a variety of topics related to youth violence and gang activity

Accessing Forum TTA

• Make requests to your federal site coordinators

• Request is reviewed by the Forum TTA Working Group

• Request is fulfilled by the most appropriate agency/organization
