MissionMission

The mission of the National Engineers Week Future City Competition is to provide a fun and exciting educational engineering program for seventh and eighth grade students that combines a stimulating engineering challenge with a “hands-on” application to present their vision of a city of the future.

300 – 500 word narrative describing your Future City

500 – 700 word essay addressing a given engineering topic

Example essay topics: How can plastics be used to help senior citizens in

the future? Develop an energy strategy to include fuel cell

systems to power a city of the future.

Judging team to ask at least three questions to each Future City team (including two mandatory questions)

Ask age appropriate questions (7th & 8th grade) Sample questions in Judge’s Manual Direct all comments in a positive manner Give equal time to each team (full 15 minutes)
