1. International

a. France and Germany expressed political and financial backing for WHO.

b. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that his country is experiencing its

toughest year because of US sanctions coupled with the COVID pandemic.

c. Brazil has registered 1.3 Mn confirmed cases of COVID with 58,385 deaths.

d. Indonesian president threatens to reshuffle cabinet over COVID-19 response.

e. Japan has partially resumed international flights for business travellers.

f. European Union pledges $6 Bn to help vulnerable countries “devastated” by

coronavirus.

g. Poland has begun voting in Presidential election delayed by the coronavirus

pandemic.

2. National

a. PM has credited his team for being among the first to enforce smart

lockdowns across the country.

b. Dr Faisal has explained how the spread of virus is not uniform and we need a

targeted approach in order to contain its spread.

c. Islamabad administration has issued a notification stating that the Sectors G-

9/2,3 will be de-sealed from 29 Jun onwards.

d. Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has announced that the first

batch of locally manufactured ventilators will be delivered to NDMA this week.

e. The CAA has issued new travel instructions directing airlines to not issue tickets

to passengers presenting symptoms of the COVID.

f. UAE has temporarily suspended all flights from Pakistan over fear of spread of

COVID.
