History: 50 Hoops’ 21 st Century Minority Outreach EVENT: 50 Hoops ™ “African American Health Matters” celebrates 22 years in 2020, as a national African American and underserved patient-focused educational organization. And, with that experience has come many advances and changes to 50 Hoops’ events, workshops, lecture series, conferences, leadership receptions and basketball cancer breakfast, tournaments and health fairs. In 2004, 50 Hoops became a part of two national clinical trials outreach for GlaxoSmithKline (Prostate Cancer Target: African Americans) and Actelion (Sickle Cell Anemia Target: African Americans).
