The creation of NASS Corporation is a result of the consolidation of NASS Group’s core construction and industrial related businesses under one roof.

Timeline of NASS achievementsA history of firsts

1960’s 1963 First project by Abdulla Ahmed NASS Contracting Company W.L.L. was with the Royal Air Force, Bahrain. Followed by, a School called Aysha Girls School in Manama; Electrical Grid Systems; Sewage system in Manama and Ground cable laying.

1967 Subcontractor to George Wimpey, built the first housing complex – in Isa Town, followed by new housingcomplexinHamadTown.

1969ALBAPlant–phase1plantconstruction, followed by 6 further expansion phases over subsequent years.

Also during the 1960’s, Nass Commercial Division was launched for trading industrial products. It became an independent company in 1986.

1973 First readymixed concrete company established in Bahrain.

1976NASSPlumbingformed.

1977NASSSandProcessingPlantformed to supply washed building sand to Bahrain’s construction industry.

1970’s 1972 First mechanical division created and carried out projects such as ‘shut down maintenance’ of refinery and tank building at Bapco refinery; a major contract was completed for the rebuild and repair of Bapco refinery when a fire stooped their production of oil.

1986 Gulf Development Corporation (Gulf Corp) formed to help the NASS Group discover trading and business opportunities internationally. Its main activities include bulk transportation, marine services, dredging, piling and reclamation work.

Formed Balfour Beatty J.V.tobuildfoundation and jetty for GIIC steel plant (complete civil package).

1990’s 1994 -FormedJ.V.withUS-basedShaw Group, now know as CB&I. First company to provide a regional source of prefabricated piping systems for industrial projects throughout the Middle East

Dolphin welding project commenced in Abu Dhabi for underwater pipes.

1996 NASS Landscapes established.

1997 BahrainOrganicProducts established. It remains Bahrain’s only manufacturer of organic fertilizers for landscaping and agricultural applications.

2008 Dona Marine formed to provide marine shipping for the transport of limestone and gabbro crushed aggregates from quarries in Ras Al KhaimahU.A.E.,totheNASSGroup’sdedicated marine aggregates jetty in Hidd,Bahrain.

2010 Abrasive Technology Industries Co. established in partnership with Shaheen Group in Dammam. The company also exports to European

A unique bridge construction effort carried out by Nass Contracting and itsJVpartnerhadoneofthemostcutting edge which included: “build, lift, move and install” and is unlike any bridge installation undertaken in the Middle East.The flyover bridge is approximately 122.5m long, 16m wide and 21.4m tall (from ground 27.5m), and is a tied arch cable suspension bridge with a roadway and pedestrian walkway.The 16 meter wide bridge deck is a concrete post tensioned construction. The entire bridge was constructed at an offsite facility about 250 meters away from the permanent
