NARRATIVE AND PICTORIAL REPORT ON THE CELEBRATION OF THE 21st ANNIVERSARY OF NATIONAL CHILDRENS MONTHI. INTRODUCTION

October every year is observed as National Childrens Month (NCM) in our country pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 267 issued on September 30, 1993. The celebration seeks to emphasize the importance of the role of the child within the Filipino family and in nation building. It also supports Section 13, Article II, of the Philippine Constitution, which recognizes the vital role of the youth in nation building and mandates the promotion and protection of their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being by instilling in them the values of patriotism and nationalism, among others, as well as encouraging in public and civic affairs. This years celebration focuses on poverty with the theme, Kahirapan Wakasan, Karapatan ng mga Bata Ipaglaban! The primary objectives of this annual celebration are to encourage not only the duty holders but also the stakeholders to contribute to poverty reduction and to advocate for stronger holistic actions, particularly preventive measures to address problems of poverty.

Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum No. 168 s. 2013, San Juan Elementary School undertook the suggested child-related activities during the first and second weeks of October to highlight the role of children in community life and nation-building.II. ACTIVITIES

Based on the suggested activities for the Celebration, San Juan Elementary School launched the said celebration during its Flag Ceremony last October 7 through a rationale by Dr. Virgilio R. A special lesson on Childrens rights was discussed by all teachers of Araling Panlipunan (Grades 1 and 2), Sibika at Kultura (Grade 3), and HeKaSi (Grades 4 to 6) in their respective classes; andc. Various contests related to the theme such as Essay-Writing Contest, Slogan-Making Contests and special booths like face painting, karaoke machine, and kissing booth which were enjoyed by many pupils during the closing program last October 17.

The Supreme Pupil Government officers facilitated the final program which became very memorable for them. Collectively, the celebration was both educating and fun-filled for the pupils.III. PICTORIALS
