Annual Report 2015-2016
Gandhi Peace Centre Annual Report 2015-2016
All forms of organizations are contrived with a purpose to help
the society cope with specific problems it confronts. Gandhi
Peace Centre is dedicated to build the capacities of
underprivileged individuals, marginalized Civil Society
Organizations and other concerned stakeholders and to broaden
the base of principles & ideologies taught by Mahatma Gandhiji
through spreading the light of optimism; once ignited by Late
Shri. K. S. Radhakrishnaji.
One’s strength is not always measured by its visibility;
sometimes silence speaks volumes and peace signifies that
something magnificent is being penned down by great
visionaries at Gandhi Peace Centre before the onset of the real
enormous spring.
The secret of GPC’s achievements goes to augmentation of team
work of local leaders that highlighted the specific needs of the
targeted communities and each staff member that translated the
vision of its Governing Body & General Body.
3
I take this opportunity to thank all our distinguished Governing
Body Members for being the guiding force; standing by us always
and sending the message to “Never Give up!”
Gandhi Peace Centre (GPC) is a secular, apolitical and not for profit organization
which was established in 1979 by Late Shri. K.S. Radhakrishna who needs no
introduction to the development world. In its initial years, GPC worked as a forum of
social activists and young Gandhians who translated the ideologies and philosophy of
Gandhiji. Over its thirty years of existence, the organization has strived to penetrate
deep into the vulnerable communities through its value based, technology driven,
socially relevant, gender sensitive and pro-poor multifaceted interventions.
So far, the organization have built the capacities of over 100 organizations and
thousands of children and youths through its partnerships with various development
organizations; particularly; with EZE (now EED) Germany that helped GPC in carrying
out its mission from 1978 to 2003 with the assistance of a network of NGOs through a
tripartite agreement.
